  • I miss Oran Park

  • This is left foot braking WITH "H-Pattern". ;)

A little harder back in 2006, compared to now wth sequencial.

  • is he riding the clutch?? looks like it, left foot braking isnt that amazing, i do it lol

  • this is my cousin

  • did they only introduce this shift-cut feature when they swapped to the sequential-shift boxes??

  • No, they had it with the H-pattern as well.

  • I left foot brake too.I only use clutch on upshifts.Nice footwork!!

  • wait, wait. shouldn't u be using the clutch on the downshifts so that u don't mis-shift the gearbox and kill the engine.

  • Its just a different driving style. If you left foot brake its kinda difficult to heal and toe

  • clearly u dont know how a dog box works!

the whole point of a dog box is so u dont have to waste time on upshifts by using the clutch!

  • its called a shift cut

  • isn't this how you kill a V8 engine?

  • Man murphy must rape the gearboxes and clutches on his car. i know its a dog box and designed to change gears without the clutch, but i think it just doesnt do the driveline any favours if you dont even use the clutch on downshifts. wotta dork. if it werent a dog box, the clutch and gearbox would be MUNTED

  • not really, since he "blips" the throttle before he downshifts it wouldn't do much damage to the engine really because he gets the engine's revs up to what they would be for the lower gear so the gearbox wouldn't get damaged that much unless he incorrectly "blips"

  • *rolls eyes* i never said it would damage the engine. im talking about the driveline, you know, clutches, gearboxes etc. try reading my comment properly next time. btw i think theres a reason why nearly all the other drivers in the field dont use murph's pedal style. mind you, they dont use the h-pattern anymore. sequentials hardly even require the clutch at all, maybe on down shifts just to be safe. so yeah, things have changed.

  • okay sorry then lol yer they usually use the clutch from 1st to 2nd and maybe 3rd, but after that they just push the gearstick forwards. Yer i'm not sure exactly cos i don't follow V8's that much, i follow Formula 1....

  • Yeah formula one! lewis hamilton is a legend. i like to follow both :)

  • theres only four cars left using H pattern and they're not significant teams. they wer only given the choice of sequential this year

  • he might have a dogbox instead of a sequential

  • They have H gate type dog boxes as far as I know. It's an impressive bit of precision driving.

  • is it me, or is the clutch pedal not even there?

  • It's there, he's using it as a foot rest.

If there wasn't a clutch pedal he could never go from 0 kmph to whatever speed.

  • yeah just realised that. Cheers :)

  • @somestupidusername84 you can start the car in first gear with some throttle, if your prepared to put your car through that

  • nah its not easy in sequential u need to clutch on down shift. thats y he still uses h pattern

  • karmas a real bitch for murphy his careers fucked and ambrose is kicking arse go figure

  • No, he instanly changed to sequential at the start if the season and he still left foot brakes.

  • If you know anything about left foot braking, then you know it's something you can't really change to after years of heal and toe shifting. Its something you have to start doing right from the begining of your racing career to perfect it, something greg has obviously done. Very easy in a paddle change or sequential box, but not that easy with a H-pattern box.

  • Nice footwork

  • Ah fuck the gearbox they rebuild it every round anyway

  • heel and toe is better for the gear box if ya ask me :D

  • alot easier than right foot braking, not so good for the gearbox!

  • Niiiice! Very nice!

  • you know, i really think Greg Murphy is following Brockies footsteps, and could be named king of the mountain

  • wow lot's of skill there

  • only way to go

  • Nice footwork...
