Years ago (probably back in '91), my parents recorded the animated movie, "The Sword In The Stone" for me on VHS when I was a child. During one of the commercial breaks, this commercial played. Oh my goodness, this YouTube clip brings GREAT nostalgia to me! Wow!!!

because this game was made before Mortal Kombat 1. In 97 I beleive was when Mortal Kombat 1 came out and because of the fatalities and blood code from mortal kombat is why the rating system began

The ESRB rating system didn't exist then. Back then, the console makers were the ones who made their own policies. The ESRB wasn't founded until 1994. This was after games like Mortal Kombat were being released on consoles without any type of parental warning. The ESRB came as a result of hearings from the US Congress about selling violent video games to minors.

sure it looks dated compared now a days... but back in the day (during the console wars) i remember the very first day snes debuted ... i was in a local mall and they set up the snes w/ a 13" monitor in the display window... my mind was blown... keep in mind that my mind was previously blown by TMNT 2 the arcade game on the NES that was in a TOYS R US like a year or 2 prior.... does anyone remember grabbing a print out paper on a tab @ toys r us to purchase a game??
