Is it just me, or do modern Japanese composers totally OUTSHINE their western counterparts?

Yoshiki (and he's primarily a Rock musician!), Joe Hisaishi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kow Otani.... heck, even video game composers like Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Yoko Shimomura or Masashi Hamauzu are totally brilliant.

Man, there seems to have come a LOT of beautiful music from Japan in the last 2 decades. It's time to step up your game, American and European composers....
