I agree stopping eating so much would work, but this ia a guy who has indulged in food all of his life. Behavioral change is hard, esp for a fat guy-- as in, I'm sure he doesn't love being overweight and wants to change. The fatty foods he eats, and the video games he plays all day aren't helping, this represents a way for him to use an activity he currently does to be part of the solution. If changing were so easy, he would have changed already, good for him with ddr, no need to be critical.

I'm not critical about people being fat, really. The change is easy to do if you put enough willpower to it. People can stop themselves from doing drugs and smoking, and those are addictive substances. :P Which means it's far far more harder than stopping eating unnecessary amounts of food.

Then again, there is, of course, a part that genetics play on it, some people can just eat huge amounts of food and never get fat. But no matter what, such defiencies can be overcame with basic willpower :P
