  • i find this step (and, really, the next one too) pretty simple, and i just bought my cube yesterday. it's not hard to find out how to get pieces where you want them at first. i would try to get one whole side the same color first by yourself.

  • First move and im lost ! "the white\orange piece needs to go there" What ? how do you know it needs to go there ? Im not following this at all

  • wow im so confuzeded

  • Genius!

  • Hello, do a control find of "Now rotate U so that the white-OC piece is in the UR position. Now apply R' F'." on your website. This is an error. The step should be revised to say U' R' U F'. Without U (to return the top back to its original position) the original three movements creates a big mess. I'm just a noob though, so what do I know, right? I'm certain this needs to be fixed.

  • i tried, but i get two sides wif wrong colours...

  • wif?

  • Wif, capitals please

  • hey this works great! thanks alot! the video just brings it all together!

  • so it can be in any random position in order to get to where u are?

  • I just can't seem to understand, it's very frustrating.. :(

  • Try one of the other videos. If you search around YouTube there are a number of instructional cubing videos. Maybe someone else will explain it in a way that works for you.

  • i want to ask - how do you know where do the u face pieces go? In the video, ou just say "this needs to go there"...

  • There are two colors on an edge piece, and that piece needs to go right between the two center pieces of those two colors.

  • So Helpful!

  • wooww . thanks a bunch ! i was confused but when i watched it again , i got it . :p thank you !

  • Do we have to start our cube the exact same way urs was in the beginning?

  • No, it can be scrambled any way. You will have to adapt the moves that I'm doing somewhat according to how the pieces are located on your cube. It's not really practical to show every last possibility, but normally you will only need at most 3 or 4 turns of the cube for each edge piece in this step.

  • whoelse has videos

  • That made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I cannot believe that this helped me, or that I'm too stupid to do a damn rubik's cube.

    HELLLLLLLLP.

  • Try someone else's video. There are a few out there are and maybe someone else will explain it better for you.

Also just try moving the faces around on your own to try to get this step done (four edge pieces on one layer). Don't worry about the instructions for now, just look at the cube and try to see what effect moving different sides of the cube has.

  • I understand now that I've looked at other people's videos.

What I can't get, is how to get a cross but still have the colors matching the middle faces on the F R L and B sides.

I hope you know what I mean, cause I'm just a newbie to this.

  • You just have to pick the right edge piece when you're putting it into place on the top layer. If you need white/green then move that piece next to the green center and then up to the top layer.

  • It's not working for me. I can't seem to move the pieces to the right pieces I need them to.

  • I love you.

  • iNEVER can NEVER understand this mess .NEVER... NEVER... NEVER... NEVER...

  • GREAT !

  • Does anybody know how you would explain this to a nine yr old and not a 23 yr old man!

  • With the first couple of steps, I would really just try playing around with the cube yourself to get a feel for what the moves do. Just choose an edge piece (one with two sides) and try to see what moves would get it into position. I don't think you need more than about 4 moves to get any single edge piece in place for this first step. Don't forget that you can turn the U face (the top) after solving some edge pieces if you need to bring an edge piece to the middle layer to work with it.

  • Great Videos. I'm still a little lost but give me a few days playing around and I'm sure I'll figure it out although my cube is really messed up at this point so it's not as easy as in this video. Thanks for the help.

  • this isnt realy that helpful as you dont describe to solve it from any position, you already have the orange corner pieces set up on the U side and two oranges on the L side could you please explain how to get to that point from any scramble.

  • dude wtf

  • I going crazy with this damn cube

  • Perfectly Done!

  • Thank you very much for helping me learn how to solve the cube.
