My point is that a U.K. general election is essentially about chosing between a Labour or Conservative government not the endorsement or disaproval of party leaders, Having conducted a pervasive campaign vilifying Brown since he took office the right wing press present the next election on the basis of a choice of leaders hoping their campaign has worked out as planned but, come the day most voters will not be fooled. .
golsno; "Prime Ministers are chosen by the party -not be the electorate." I think we all know parties chose leaders who become PM candidates but that wasn't a point I was making; it will be good (after what will likely be nearly 3 years) to actually be able to say the person sitting in No. 10 is doing so after the public have gone to the ballot box. I think that's a healthy state of affairs and my view extends to other situations where this has been the case such as John Major.
Pitchandcut. Prime Ministers are chosen by the party -not be the electorate. Cameron was elected, party leader to the astonishment of most leading pro Tory commentators at the time who regarded him as an ambitious opportunist with oratory skills more likely to win him an acting Oscar than the country's leadership.
Oratory skills like Obama ? Blair ? good actor ? sounds so familiar ....Frankly I think he is genuine ...but will make mistakes ...don't they all ;) Why all the worry about him selling out the poor LABOUR had 10 yrs and have already done it ....the rich poor gap has increased under a so called Socialist government ...you could not make it up!!
The real "con" is how the Tory media continue to effectively brainwash the politically naive into believing that Cameron,s Etonian circle actually care about ordinary people. Their philosophy is
ingrained with a desire to perpetuate privelege and allow unfettered exploitation,, lower taxes for the rich and
minimise social security provisions They opposed the creation of the National Health Service and will take early steps to dismantle it if we are daft enough to let them back into poweri
Cameron is not to be trusted. The consertive party will only help the rich by destorying public services that help the poor. They are all Eaton educated. They will keep the Bankers Private investment that keepsthe poor on the lowest poss wage DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS MAN. If you do there will be riots in the streets.
It will be good to be able to cast a vote on who will be our PM rather than to have to live with one whose popularity is seemingly not measured by the voting sstem but apparently measured by the number of anti-Cameron jibes on "webcameron". If Mr. Cameron is SO bad then you have nothing to fear anyway do you? He obviously doesn't stand a chance. :)
Labour already made that false promise for a referendum.
The difference is that Labour have had years to give us a referendum but they backed out. Why? Maybe because they were scared the result would be a NO.
If the Tories get in then they are in a crappy position because the treaty is pretty much ratified by everyone now.
it always tickles me when people mention the conservatives in the 80s, who had to take hard choices to rectify labour's mess. it's funny how they don't mention the 70s with the power crazed trade unions and the bankrupt economy. labour can do no wrong. it's all media driven you know!
The point is, you create jobs. You don't just fill whats there and give up. By freezing public sector wages, you reduce public spending. With this extra cash, you can offer tax incentives and subsidies for buisness and create more jobs. As it stands, Labour are pulling at straws and are trying to keep what they've got, rather than looking for areas where new jobs can be made.
this small group of people are more dynamic and focused than the present goverment ever could be. Under G. Brown people have actually a life on benefits, no question asked!! it,s pathetic and under labour it,s almost impossible to deport people who have no right to be here .. This is why the bnp are gaining ground ...Labour are so weak and feeble... You have my vote Mr Cameron .
Hey - don't dare forget that it was a conservative government that supported Saddam Hussein throughout the height of his brutality. In the 1980s Thatcher was happy to have him as a friend even when he was gassing the Kurds at Halabja. Cameron, to my knowledge, has never apologised for this. Remember that when you're going to the ballots.
In my opinion, Britain need a change and David Cameroon is an answer. He is a person who can steer Britain to a position where Britain loving people would like to see it to be.
I heard that speech and in my opinion David Cameron talked a lot of good sense, and deserves to be given a chance to form a government. Labour has been a disaster for this country. Many people don't trust them, and that's no basis for Government! All Tories are not "toffs". We care about those less fortunate than ourselves. Labour just pays lip service to that belief, while feathering their own nests ie Tony Blair!
Calm confidence - qualities needed to get Great Britain back on it's feet again. Our problems can be cured but only if you elect a party able to grasp what needs to be done. The Conservatives did it before, it may fall to them to do it again - this bed-blocking Government is a obstacle to progress. It has an unelected Prime Minister and a dismal track record. A General Election is now needed.
If you're on about Gordon Brown as being unelected, this is the case as a person, but people voted Labour and Gordon Brown was the next in line after Tony Blair, so to speak. So, because Labour were voted it shouldn't really matter who the leader is. In this case, Gordon Brown has just become Prime Minister at the wrong time so he's getting some serious stigma. In fact if you look past the Media, Gordon Brown is making some remarkable choices such as Nationalising Northern Rock.
i hope public sector jobs are lost....the public sector is well over subscibed and many are lazy useless gravy train lefties who wear suits and do very little
The tories won't change anything except accelerate the police state. You get to vote for different masks on the same face. All the main parties are loyal to the power structure and the globalist agenda. Research the new world order.
I've done a lot of research on the New World Order and I think we can quite clearly figure out the main players but the real question is how do we defeat the NWO??
Well I guess a good start is to get on channels like this and make politicians aware that we know this stuff is going on but do they? and obviously keep on at our local MPs as well.
I think Ghandi had it right when he said "you have to be the change you want to see in the world"
Yes that is very true. We need to keep the awakening going so we can have mass non compliance. This awakening should include people within the system like MPs, police, bureaucrats, soldiers, etc.
How many public sector workers are going to be jobless after your cuts? Unemployment is going to go through the roof! Same old Tories taking from the poor to give to the rich!
In the Police and NHS maybe, but councils and other services are going to be shafted, and there are going to be massive job cuts.
All the while, the banks are going to be allowed to do what they want, despite the fact that they were in-part responsible for putting us in this mess.
Well Tomtevans, I know who I would like to be making decisions for the country if it was a choice between you and him. Go and find some people who you call 'common' and see if they want to fit into your class war stereotype. I suspect you are just as 'posh' as Dave really.
Nice speech Mr Cameron I totally agree with the cuts, the responsibility and abolition of big government but then you spoilt it all with a commitment to more troops in Afghanistan.
I cannot and will not under any circumstances vote for any party that supports a war that isn't defending this country and has sinister ulterior motives to it.
To those who say he is posh or privately educated, firstly, do your research to see who in government at the moment was privately educated and secondly, why wouldn't you want the man who will be running the country to have the best education possible?
It doesn't make you look down at people!
As PM he will make tough decisions and I don't want someone making those decisions if they cannot fully understand them. Do you want your child to be well educated? Of course you do so why is it a problem?
Will not even bother to comment on the LBR comments below, so moving on. I think we have the makings of an fantastic new PM and is over due to be honest as we are at an all time low in this country from the results of PM we didn't vote in or even want but also from his Predecessor.
gordon brown had no other way but to bailout the banks wich caused debt the stupid tory boys would of let the system collapse taking people's savings etc The torys will be a 1 term party people will be worse of no national min wage increase cuts every where we the normal working didn't do the mess but the torys will treat us as if we did Its should be THE BANKS that got bailed out that should be paying the debt off!!
As a recent convert to the Conservatives I have to say that Gordon Brown got us into this state and his rank hypocrisy is infuriating.
We are not out of the recession yet and are mounting up massive - never before seen - levels of debt, but with a bloated public service which eats money.
3masons - wake up - and go back to your Labour party
If the torys get in power it will be a 1 term goverment people will get of the same old crap slash and dash people will be worse of under the Conservative Party VOTE LABOUR! at least it will be done over time We will be better of under labour
Gordon brown has showed great leadership in britain and other countrys .And william hague saying bulcrap like gordon brown got us in this mess is plain dumb and stupid of the torys LETS nots forget the torys were the ONES who would of DONE NOTHING gordon brown stated that in his speech the biggest decision in the past 12 years if not more and the torys got in wrong the country would of been in more mess than it is now idiots. The bankers caused this not the goverment!!
Bren...so you think Labour is a pillar of respectability and honesty...sorry but that is just sad and a poor example of your judgement and an excellent one of your prejudges. No doubt if St Francis himself was standing you would no doubt have said the same !
You're right, the last speech with so much passion was Jeffrey Archer an honest straightforward politician ...well apart from the lies, deceipt, prostitutes, affairs and perjury. So what's hidden in the closet this time??
Excellent video. A very natural and honest window into how DC's feeling right now and the difficulties the team face as they tackle these tough (but accurate) decisions. Good WH input. Nice to see you are aware of a bubble as there is in any organisation. I lookl forward to the speech DC, Good Luck (please nail it!!)
I'm looking forward to the speech - I think he's done a marvellous job of keeping in touch with people outside the Westminster bubble, and hope him and his team will start fixing the Country in May!
Also great to see that even confident leaders have some nerves before a big speech - gives me hope in my work life.
talk about "debt" are you freaking kidding me !?!? you should be talking about /acting on the immigration crisis that is going on, and effective measures against the islamo-fascist's.
In World War 1 there was a famous naval battle (Battle of Jutland), where many of the British fleet ships were not sunk by the German gunfire; but by the secondry explosion of the ammunition used.
Was is the fault of Germans for firing? The crew for improperly keeping the ammo? or was it just a fundimental flaw of what was used?
The answer isn't whos fault was it, but go back to tackle the core issue. As you want to minimise the casulties rather than simply boast about achievements.
As long as you realise it was not UK caused, and you also realise that the recent semi-nationalising of banks is going to bring back in big money to the government coffers in a big way, it could very well look.
UK are not the only ones doing this, so don't think this is a post war 2 situation, it is global. So the cutting of anything and all that shows you don't grasp what has actually hapenned to World capitalism, as we knew it.
Thank goodness there is a sensible dynamic leader for conservatives

Well Tomtevans, I know who I would like to be making decisions for the country if it was a choice between you and him. Go and find some people who you call 'common' and see if they want to fit into your class war stereotype. I suspect you are just as 'posh' as Dave really.

Nice speech Mr Cameron I totally agree with the cuts, the responsibility and abolition of big government but then you spoilt it all with a commitment to more troops in Afghanistan.
I cannot and will not under any circumstances vote for any party that supports a war that isn't defending this country and has sinister ulterior motives to it.
And for that reason Mr Cameron I'm out..
Green or BNP it is then!!

It was a absolutely fantastic speech and I am certain that David Cameron will make a brilliant Prime Minister!

I don't mean to patronise you, but that's actually a very intelligent comment and not a general line of argument you read or hear often enough.

I know Cameron will continue the agenda of the elite families when he is SELECTED as PM.
He is pro EU & a sheep in wolves clothes (Fabien Society member) Big Brother will become more powerful under his tenure.
But at least we can leave comments on the video.
Those Neo Labour W*NKERS dont even let you leave comments on theirs!

Will not even bother to comment on the LBR comments below, so moving on. I think we have the makings of an fantastic new PM and is over due to be honest as we are at an all time low in this country from the results of PM we didn't vote in or even want but also from his Predecessor.

These Labour supporting comments are just TRIBALISM - you are not considering the policies
You people are part of the problem, nothing would ever change if it was left only to you.

What have they been doing over the last 12 years? It's all well and good saying that labour will turn the country around. They've had ages already.

Once again i'd like to say thank you to David Cameron and the Conservative party for an open and honest outlook on politics.
It's refreshing to see a leader expose himself so honestly before the cameras go on and there's nowhere to hide.
Thanks again.

talk about "debt" are you freaking kidding me !?!? you should be talking about /acting on the immigration crisis that is going on, and effective measures against the islamo-fascist's.
