  • Well, I just got a Splawn modded 1959SLP used from a seller in CA. Got a great price on it(1K shipped). This one was made in 2003, modded in 2003. It has the Mercury transformer and KT88 power tubes. I am stunned at how good this amp sounds. NOT as gainy or compressed as his own creations. I really love it . Even has the factory loop in it, which I like for delay effects.

  • wow.

  • GREAT TONE!!! What speakers do you have in there? sounds killer!

  • please no mmore delay ;(

  • sounds like me jammin. always playing rr riffs, lol.

  • Wonderful tone from Scott, he's one of my TOP guys that has a KILLER ear! Kudo's Mr Splawn!

  • Very nice tone mate.

  • I see a solo boost knob by the input jack, what's the other knob for? I have splawn modded Marshall without thw second knob. Also are pushing the amp with a pedal?

    Tnanks

  • @EVTMods Yes , one of those knobs is the solo boost... The other is the clean channel volume. All I was using here was a Boss Delay and a Boss volume pedal in the loop to quiet it down a little, no boost.. Thanks

  • i could hear jump lol. jake e lee solo pretty bad ass. keep it up man. fucking sick

  • hey man sick/tone and sick tap. keep rocking. jump! haha

  • oh ya !!! Now thats a killer Tone ! Nice chops yo ..Love the Splawn modded Marshalls ..

  • Thanks. Seems mine is defective, with something wrong causing static and a short that blows the HT fuse. And I have to keep my presence way up, along with the treble, to even come close to your tone. Might need to be repaired, or refunded depending on the cause. Bummer, they are harder to find lately.

  • Sorry to hear that man. When I first got mine I had a similar problem when I engaged the solo boost . I called up Scott and he was very helpful with helping me find the problem. Turned out to be as simple as a cold solder joint. I would give him a call and let him know whats up. Im sure he will help you out in any way they can. Awesome, awesome customer service there : )

  • Yeah, cold solder joint might be what it is. Sometimes it's static that goes away, other times it freaks out so I have to shut it down. Not an easy thing to diagnose. How did you figure out which joint was the cold solder joint on yours??

  • I called up Scott and him or Josh who told me exactly where to look. You could see where the solder was was not fully in contact like the other spots where. A quick dab of solder and the problem was fixed. Your best bet would be to give him a call. Good luck with the amp man ! I hope it will be an easy fix for you : )

  • I had similar problems with the EQ. If you want a tip send me a mail ;-)

  • @TheNorrin

Hi, you know how to improve on the EQ?? I need the tip! Gratzie!

  • Awesome! Can you share your EQ settings, and what channel you were on (high or low gain)? I have a 1987x modded by Splawn, and I'm trying to find the sweet spot!

  • If I remember correctly it was sometime like,

    Presence - 1 o'clock

    Bass - 1o'clock

    Middle - noon

    Treble - 1 o'clock

    Mater Vol. - 10 o clock

    Gain was at noon.

and I think I was on od 1 most of the time and od2 when I tuned to drop d .

I use a Boss FV 50H volume pedal in the loop to tame it down a bit. Congrats on the amp . The splawn modded marshalls kick a lot of ass , and they seem to be harder to come by these days !
