Robert perceives everything as an attack against his misunderstood rights, and as a dark attempt by "The man" to keep kids suppressed. A less rebellious person might simply recognise the difficulties in delivering a varied curriculum to a mixed ability bunch of kids, many of whom are full of resentment at being there. I like what you said about teachers lying to parents. I'm in seventh grade in massachusetts and i threw a pedometer that i found into the woods. My dean of students said i "Took it off the girls foot and threw it into the woods so that she would fail gym class." Long behold i was never informed that they needed those for gym(since only about 1/4 of the students get them.) I found it on the ground threw it and for some reason my dean of students felt the need to lie to my parents.
2. not all of your points make sense though, some kids need to be punished for not being conducive to the learning environment, and a good way of punishment is to exclude students from school sponsored clubs, teams, and events. though they LEGALLY cant lower your grade [the class participation grades are the only way they can do that. and im on the fence about that]

My science teacher was very nice, but it irritates me that they did NOT take into account the three recent blizzards to batter the Midwest US and Southern Ontario. I've noticed a lot of my American classmates in university fail to think critically. They are experts in what I call "memorization-regurgitation", where the student can memorize a bunch of affirmations, lay them down at an exam and never critically assess the material presented.
This lack of critical thinking and analysis is, in my opinion, portrayed in the American (there are exceptions, obviously) way of life is very prominent (e.g. George Bush getting an MBA - look at his speeches...)

I attended the middle school and the teachers there were excellent and I passed with flying colors, but when I entered high school, my "free thinking" was discouraged and two teachers that I had in a special education geometry class used the 5th S Strategy in order to get me to drop out of school. They threw away the assignments that I turned in on time. Insulted me in the hallway with cutting remarks.-(TBC)

I dropped out in the winter of '08, irate and appalled. I encourage everyone to search for her online. For those who live in middle TN, beware her!
I think I was kind of lucky. My science teachers actually taught us instead of using these five systems. Sadly, teachers like my History and English, while nice to students who agreed with them, hated me and made me out to be bad.

She always got good grades, honor roll, AP classes (smart girl), but as a senior she got this same teacher who soon realized my daughter had an opinion about government and how things should be, my daughter dropped to one of those students set up to fail by this teacher. She almost didn't graduate because of this. cont....
cont... her teacher always tried to call my daughter out in class, as if to humiliate her (that didn't work, only made her more determined to continue on her path). I like what you said about teachers lying to parents. I'm in seventh grade in massachusetts and i threw a pedometer that i found into the woods. My dean of students said i "Took it off the girls foot and threw it into the woods so that she would fail gym class." Long behold i was never informed that they needed those for gym(since only about 1/4 of the students get them.) I found it on the ground threw it and for some reason my dean of students felt the need to lie to my parents.

2. not all of your points make sense though, some kids need to be punished for not being conducive to the learning environment, and a good way of punishment is to exclude students from school sponsored clubs, teams, and events. though they LEGALLY cant lower your grade [the class participation grades are the only way they can do that. and im on the fence about that]
3. diplomas do translate into success, though self education is a big part of that.

Me and a lot of my friends have been sent out of the room and screamed at for questioning a teacher's obvious mistake, told that they didn't care if it's wrong, we should just accept what they say. You are more than 100% correct. I just graduated from a 1st semester "science" class. All I can say is that the final unit "climate change", was nothing more than bent up pseudoscience. My science teacher was very nice, but it irritates me that they did NOT take into account the three recent blizzards to batter the Midwest US and Southern Ontario. Al Gore's rhetoric of humans causing global warming, while other areas are cooling just doesn't add up.

Your that spark that ignites. Activism in the classroom, I love it. We need to end public education. Maybe with thousands of kids all over the country questioning their history teachers, questioning their government teachers. Parents stand up to corrupt school administration. The "School Sucks Podcast" on PodOmatic is a great commentary, arguing for ending pub ed. It really helped me come to terms with my eduction/indoctrination/enslavement training.

I've noticed a lot of my American classmates in university fail to think critically. They are experts in what I call "memorization-regurgitation", where the student can memorize a bunch of affirmations, lay them down at an exam and never critically assess the material presented.
This lack of critical thinking and analysis is, in my opinion, portrayed in the American (there are exceptions, obviously) way of life is very prominent (e.g. George Bush getting an MBA - look at his speeches...)

An excellent assessment of the strategies at play in schools. Thinking back, I observed much of the same when I was in HS. But I did not comprehend it until I was an Education major in college. THEN I began to perceive some of this as what they wanted future teachers to do! And this is why I did not become a teacher:)

The schools now in days are more like prison camps. If you look upon the behavior from the school board towards students, you might think the students are bad because of the treatment they're receiving, that is in an average adult's view. A school simply is a fascist little state. But you may have a group of teachers in power, an oligarchy instead of just one dictator. I believe there has been a trend where I live that it´s more likely a group of teachers, instead of just one boss. Especially in elementary schools and schools for handicapped students the men are outnumbered by female teachers, and though the principal is more likely one of the males, it´s really a clique of female teachers that are the power in the state.

I attended the middle school and the teachers there were excellent and I passed with flying colors, but when I entered high school, my "free thinking" was discouraged and two teachers that I had in a special education geometry class used the 5th S Strategy in order to get me to drop out of school. They threw away the assignments that I turned in on time. Insulted me in the hallway with cutting remarks.-(TBC)

She would follow me during lunch and sit at my table and talk to me incessantly while I tried to do my work, despite my efforts to silence her suspicious babbling. It never stopped. I dropped out in the winter of '08, irate and appalled. I encourage everyone to search for her online. For those who live in middle TN, beware her!

Thank you for delivering a prompt reply; some one could practically be persuaded in believing that you may be half a gentleman.
The difference between a trouble-maker and an instigator is that the prior creates problems between himself & another party, the latter is a party that attempts to create trouble for two other parties, meanwhile, he/she, the instigator attempts to appear indifferent to the situation.
