  • Your very lucky to have come across one of these elusive little snakes, especially during the day. Ive spent a lot of time looking for this species in the Cameron Highlands, peninsular Malaysia, but have had no luck. Where is Borneo was this?

  • Remember is not bungarus flaviceps (locality sumatra krait).

Borneo Blue Malayan Coral snake is Maticora Bivirgata, beautiful snake & very dangerous snakes. No Antivenom.

large size venom gland, 1/3 from whole body or more.

  • should have gotten a bit closer...

  • remember that there's no anti venom for them.

  • ......making it a perfect gift for the Mother In Law this Christmas !

  • I think I just have a better idea.

  • @klpgs694 where can i find one???????

  • Yes, its quite stunning isn't it, a beautiful creature.

I had never heard of this snake before the encounter, and had to look it up to learn more about it. The red head / tail is remarkable when seen first-hand.......although we didn't dare get too close !

  • Beautiful Snake. It, along with the red headed krait (bungarus flaviceps) are among the most beautiful and most dangerous snakes on the planet.
