  • hi, do you see any change in exhaust smoke or engine power? Will such an oil catch can help on a 1996 Terrano 2 with TD27T engine? Thanks.

  • @gabrielronai,

    Definitely no change.

The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve let part of the exhaust gases to enter the intake manifold. Crank case ventilation system let the blow-by gases to enter the intake manifold in order to burn the oil vapors. The soot of the exhaust gases mixed with oil vapors form a layer of oily soot on the inner walls of the manifold restricting fresh air supply. Oil Catch Can only stops the process of layer forming.

  • @gabrielronai,

To improve the engine performance you have to open the intake manifold and clean it with solvent, gasoline, etc.

  • Is the one hose not connected so that the fuses are left in the atmosphere?

  • @psyxo69,

No. Oil Catch Can "cuts" the hose connecting the crank case and intake manifold. It only removes the oil. No other changes. Everything is legal.
