  • Honda kills Ford no doubt

  • I'd rather get a EX

  • wow, honda is retarded with all there configurations. if you want what you excpect, you have to dish out an extra 5 grand and settle with an ex-l

  • flashy? no way

  • @etoyotarockshsucks I've been to Florida twice, it's hot over there but you guys don't have the humidity, that's even worse. Heat I could deal with but when it's really humid it's f**kin' terrible.

  • Like always all the dealers advertise the start price 16,000 or 18,000 for basic version which usually they don't even have at the dealerships plus the standard version doesn't have A/C and no Radio. Radio I could live without , rather buy better quality one, but A/C? come on that's some b.s. here in Chicago summer time you need that shit. I got mine The version above DX which is LX and it was like another 2 grand or something. Rip off.

  • @DjJokerr chicago is nothing try florida heat

  • DX Sideways looks like a sad face crying.

  • the civic has never been boring ac

  • @zidane583 LMAO!!! I just got this car too!! actually except mine's a 2010 Honda civic COUPE!! =P So much cooler looking and sexier

  • that's not an eco car, that's a mid size

  • I own a black '08 LX sedan and absolutely love it. I went with the Auto trans since it was a grand cheaper (weird huh?) but sometimes wished I went with the manual. Very comfortable car. I drive a lot of highway and I've managed to get 500 miles on a single tank around 72 mph average. Put some General Altimax A/P tires on it and it performs great. Quite a little punchy engine, but only on cool days. You can tell that the power decreases significantly on hot summer days though. Great car!

  • @OCX600RR Wow our Honda Civic only gets 22 MPG combined. I think Corolla is better.

  • @rayj778

What year Civic? 22MPG combined is not good at all and well below the average for this car. Might want to get it looked at! Also I ride with my tires (General Altimax HP) at 39PSI which helps the MPG's as well. I've just passed 70K miles on mine and i'm still averaging close to 35MPG combined.

  • @OCX600RR The car's been checked out buddy, & it's pretty DAMN new. my relatives Honda Civic ('06 i think, not sure) which is a coupe gets 23 MPG & drives mostly high miles. HE TOLD ME ME GETS 260 MILES ON A TANK BEFORE HE PUTS IN 11 gallons to re-fuel; which equals about 23 miles per gallon. & i've had other relatives with Hondas who have told me they don't get good gas mileage. TOYOTA doesn't have that problem.

  • @OCX600RR actually my relatives civic is the 2004 model.

  • @rayj778

well it seems like your family is having difficulties driving Honda's correctly then. I belong to a very popular Civic forum & I must say there are many many owners who are averaging 32+ MPG for the LX model (Auto). Like I said before I inflate the tires a bit more and also drive efficiently so I average around 35MPG combined which is not bad at all. Your family like to all put the pedal to the metal? the 2004 model should get even better gas mileage than the current generation

  • @OCX600RR Maybe you & your forum are a bunch of lying homos. I check the fucking tires all the time, & i have friends who said Hondas take a lot of gas, not just family you fucking moron. & SURPRISINGLY ones who have toyotas all brag about their good gas mileage.

  • @rayj778

alright man don't get yourself a heart attack bro I can see one is on the way for you. Get a life man, obviously you've got beef with Honda's and a love connection with Toyota's. Nothing wrong with that but dude, don't try to talk all hard, it just makes you even more retarded than you already are.

  • Needs a redesign soon. Honda better come out with someting as good as the new Focus, Cruze, and Elantra for the next gen. Civic. Honda has lost it's way.

  • @Lavalae focus is a peice of shit. civic is still the best

  • @Lavalae focus is a peice of shit. civic is still the best

  • Don't really like the futurisitc look. Man 23000 AMerican is pretty hefty even for a loaded Civic. An RSX-S was under 25000

  • just looks like all the other cars in america ...bulky and lacking style , honda eu are alot better.

  • i can only afford a Scion....Civic is at the top most stolen cars...get ready to get jack!!

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM Yes, even the thieves know what's good! Plus, you're not going to find many Ferraris around, but you will find many civics. For your stat to count it should be in percentage terms ...

  • still look so boring

  • coming from someone who could only afford a Kia HA!

  • no it doesnt and the coupe looks amazing !!!

  • the si has a 200 hp v tech engine

  • No one cares what you think... (when he talks about the seats)

  • dx is a budget model with the minimalistic features to bring the price down. S2000CR doesn't come with an AC either unless you add it as an option

  • I tried to order a DX from a local dealership and they said it wasn't even available, which is weird. This was back on '07.

  • i have no problem working on mine.. i have an 06 SI and u can fit a turbo or s/c in there no prob.

  • The DX is bullshit. No AC and 3 colors. Honda DX bullshit designed to force people into an upsell model.

This isn't the 80's anymore they should add ac and get a clue.

  • wow,a 2009 car with no AC ? dats sux

  • well if you were smart, you would know that the weather is different in different regions, some places don't even get warm enough that often to use AC

  • Of If I was smart? Go ahead and buy one without AC .. ass hole.

  • lol what an idiot

  • @vashguud kia and hyundai are the same way

  • @vashguud Do you think people in Alaska need AC? Why should they pay 1K for something they don't want?

  • @vashguud The dx was designed for honda's sales in poorer countries, it drop the price by a few grand so they felt that having a cheaper version would result in higher sales in the civics, it is after all a mid priced car, you have the option to buy the LX and most dealerships don't even have the dx model on site. Still a good car and the LX and above models are still very reasonably priced.

  • yea that guy is on crack, bad quality?? are u freaking kidding me

  • wtf r u talking about the new civic looks sick compare to the gay asss american cars and it is better quality

  • LOL i know right? i don't understand why he's even saying that the civic is overpriced..... i can get more out of a civic around 18k more than a ford fusion. lol.

  • GOD BLESS US CARE : FORD< GMC< they are the best

  • S T F U!

  • I wonder if the front bumper of the coupe fits the sedan? I don't like the bumper of the sedan...

  • is the honda civic DX still being made?

  • unfortunely yes lol. i traded in my 08 civic for the 09 LXS, it's pretty nice if you ask me. but yea the DX version is a waste.

  • did u know the dx has no ac?!

  • NO AC? you gotta be kidding me right? and yes i still have my 09 civic.

  • yes.

  • the model indicated as the base model is an EX model-

  • Everywhere you look on the road, you see a Civic. :)

  • Although it can be quite annoying, a manual transmission (if used correctly) can be more efficient than an automatic tranny.

  • i love honda civics i really wanted to but i heared that the isurance is really expensive for males under 25

  • The only problem is they are imports and not domestics.

  • So is insurance generally less expensive for domestic cars?

  • ex-l is next to the top of the line

  • top of the line?? 23k for an EX with auto trans?!?! I paid 20k for my brand new 08 4dr Si

  • 23K for an EX-L w/ automatic and navigation; the EX starts at 19K but stepping up to the EX-L (leather, heated seats, stability control,...) and adding a navigation system bumps the MSRP to 23K. The 4dr Si has an MSRP of 22K, so you got a good deal.

  • automatic transmission is shit!!

  • its 08.

  • This is 08 because the 09 has inserts for fog lights in the front and the rear has a chrome piece on the trunk connecting the two tail lights.

  • Ugly dash.

  • This car cost USD 39800 in my country while the fuel price is USD 0.76 per litre

  • focus is shit

  • People rarely consider 2 factors in choosing an economy car. 1. being fuel efficiency and 2. being resale value

    100K miles @ 33 MPG = $11,515 (@ $3.80/gal)

    100K miles @ 30 MPG = $12,666

    100K miles @ 28 MPG = $13,571

Kelley Blue Book Private Party Values:

    $8,770 2003 Civic LX automatic, 100K miles

    $5,500 2003 Focus SE automatic, 100K miles

    $6,790 2003 Sentra GXE auto 100K miles

    $5,155 2003 Elantra GLS auto 100K miles

  • Bring the Honda City to North America as Ninth Generation Honda Civic.

  • This is my first Honda and I like everything about it EXCEPT: Honda keeps scaring me about using genuine Honda parts only - they always tell me that any other part is inferior YET every Honda part is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE...let's start with tinting windows: $450 (Canadian) or portable navigation $900....you name it...OIL? $40 - don't EVER use oil other than Honda approved oil OR ELSE!! I've never been threatened by a manufacturer like this before. Nevertheless, everything else is awesome.

  • ...oh, forgot, my civic developed weird spotting across the rear window (2 dr coupe). There are dozens and dozens of these little circles......so much for "genuine Honda parts" are superior. They'll probably tell me that any other glass would have imploded by now. If I replace it, I'll find a superior glass manufacturer to buy the glass from. Strike one for Honda...u guys r nice but you're too neurotic for me.

  • u too

  • kill yourself.

  • For the first time in my life, I downgraded to a small car to save money on gas, simplify, etc. LOVE my new Civic. Absolutely love it. Went for the white, with tan interior, upgraded to the nice rims and the sunroof, kinda kicking myself for not getting the spoiler... might add it anyway, and that will be extent of any ricing (I'm 46). So much fun to drive. It's worth the few thousand more.

  • Oh and btw... a ford focus will never beat a honda in term of reliability, interior quality, and performance.

  • Incorrect.

    See: upcoming Focus.

  • yeah upcoming focus ur right... if ford brings us the european one... hell it'll be nice!!! good looking, well built, fuel efficient... but guess what... it will share the same platform as the mazda 3!!

  • and never wonder why GM stopped to rent cars... they can't be sold after 4 years...

  • for real performance, fuck v8, the new sti actually beat the shelby gt500 on the quarter miles... and guess what it's a H4. honda rocks and the new civic si coupe is a trill to drive... muscles car where nice back in the 70's... now they're not... grow up plz

  • Cobalt SS motherfucker, do you speak it?

    Best handling FWD car ever.

  • The Civic is always touted as having higher quality interior bits than its competition, especially American. Well hell, Ford could charge an extra $3k for the Focus and put a better interior in it too! Man people are dumb. I would rather save that $3k and get a decent looking interior in a decent car like the Focus. You can get a fully loaded top dog SES Focus for about $20k. Tack on another $4k for a loaded Civic. I don't care how reliable or well built, you can't justify that kind of money!

  • Pull you head out of Fords ass........I don't care how reliable or well built, you can't justify that kind of money!?

    go buy a dodge neon.

  • Well, as much as you don't want to admit it because you have your head up Honda's butt apparently, I had a valid point. Civics are good because they cost a hell of a lot more. Period. Any car company can do that, make a fantastic product and charge and arm and leg for it. I'd rather do some research, buy a good American economy car and save so much I can laugh when I see a Civic. My '97 Tracer has been great. No problems. Very cheap to buy, insure, and maintain. No Civic owner can say that.

  • you make a valid point, my friend. Its too bad we can't get Skoda or Lada's inNorth America!

Now those are cheap and reliable cars!

  • I don't know the first thing of Skoda or Lada. Who makes them? They are good?

  • acuras and hondas definitely hold their value though.

I made a mistake and bought a jeep comander for 35k, there only worth about 12k now. I should have bought this

  • Uh - you should be taking demand for fuel efficient vehicles into account.

Where the fuck have you been for the past couple of months? It's widely known that behemoths like yours are devaluating to unseen levels due to their sheer mileage figures.

  • Ive drove both honda is clearly faster and more smooth

  • Not the 09. Maybe the 2008 because thats from 2003.

My dad would buy the Corolla instead of this. So would it

  • Well tha corolla is faster for a while but once the honda hits 6000rpm its beserk

  • Eh, the 08 in 03 would've been good.

But the 08 in 08? lol no, it's always been at the bottom of the pack. The Cobalt was a better car for the money at the time, along with all the others.

Now the Cobalt's at the bottom... Well, not that much, considering all the improvements in 09, I'd say it's even with the Focus, and a fuel economy leader (or performance, if you get the SS).

  • Cobalt is nice but costs as much as the Japanese competitors like Sentra and actually more expensive than Mazda 3. I'd rather have one of those.

  • The Corolla is fucken gay,

Cheap, No style, and for girls.

  • If you ever opened an old car book, published around the 1970's and look at what the people thoguht the concept cars in the future would look like, it would look alot like this honda civic. Just my opinion.

  • I just bought a 2008 Honda Civic an am inlove. I looked at a Ford Focus the day before and it was a bit nice aswell but once I got into the Civic and drove it, I fell inlove! I made a wise choice.

  • Yah your lucky my mom and sister had focus and they broke within a year good job

  • hello ford salesman

  • My 2008 Honda Civic DX-G coupe cost me $22k here in Canada....the Si version goes for

about $28k. If I bought an Si from the states

I'd pay about the same as I would for the

DX-G. Ironically...the Honda civics are built

largely in CANADA. So, what the FUCK is with

scamming Canadians??? ALL these manufacturers do the same thing...GM & Ford. Oh, ya think a Canadian can buy at an American Honda dealershp? Think again - BANNED! You have to buy from an auto broker....no warranty! SCAM!

  • I like what my friend does. He has a honda civic hybrid, great car. Cost him 16k, and he uses it just for commuting and daily things. Then he went out and bought a Escalade and uses it for day trips on the weekends. Of course this works, if you're rich like him.

  • Honda is so good why does toyota outsell it? Only the FJ cruiser is awesome.

  • When did the Subway guy start reviewing cars for a living?

  • the coupe si is thebest model in my opinion

  • Ugh this guy is so annoying talking about how the design is keeping up with the Corolla and Focus. No fucking way!! Cuz the new Focus is so hot after all ya know lol, and yeah the new Corolla's are nice but I still gotta give it to the Civic =]

  • Dave Thomas!? You should work for Wendy's! :-)

What you don't mention is that the $15,000 Civic has no air conditioning and no radio! In order to get those basic features, you have to upgrade to the $17,000 Civic LX... so it's not really the bargain you make it seem!

  • v8s are for fucking rednecks. I take an i-4 over a v8 anyday. Fucking KKK members.

  • woww. are you gay.

  • Wow that was a really... gay thing to say.

  • how was that in any way homo sexual? i never heard him say he loves butt sex

    yall are dumb haha anyways

id rather take a i-vtec 4 cyl over a v8 too, because of the milage, and the whole this is done on a weight to power ratio so for a civic u wouldnt need a huge engine to go fast since its a light car. i have a 08 civic and stock i beat a 5.0L mustang in a race now since civics are so universal its really possible to make a civic with 1200 HP believe me, ive seen it before

  • I totally agree with you man. I like good small 4-cylinder engines plus when you compare Liter horespower, the Honda Civic is the most powerful. Like the RSX your looking at 100HP/liter lets see the V8 Mustang do that!

  • You're an idiot. It's guys like you who let other Civic drivers down.

  • lol

  • I hate those a-pillars.

  • Ya because it obstructs your view when cornering, not to mention they're ugly.

  • your ugly bitch!

  • Your angry reply is nonsequiter. The civic is obviously a great car--I guess you own one since you are of such strong opinion--but those front posts are blinding and annoying.

  • i dont get noobs who fight over the internet.

  • i dont get people who still call people noobs...HA

  • ha . . . :)

  • Yeah, how many V8s outsell the 4 bangers out there eh?

  • Gas prices, smash prices, if you don't want to pay for gas, get a bike.

  • go fuck your POS v8.

  • star trek???

    LOSER

  • yea! i mean who would want great mpg's?? You know with high gas prices now a day.. I like wasting money! Yay, v8!

    lol..

  • Who would want one of these? Go out and buy a V8!
