  • Stephen Harper fucking rules!

  • Well done !

coalition depended on Duceppe, Layton, and Rae....all career politicians...

  • Wow! Awesome! Good job!

  • Hey, no make fun of the fascist. You guys have no respect for bullies. Please don't forget that the majority, 33% of Canada voted for him. No wait, 0.06% voted for him, 33% voted for his party. Long lived democracy.

  • who are all these ppl working for u dumb fux when will you sheeple WAKE UP!!!! watch ZEITGEIST

  • Well, the Harper _did_ have the best moves, didn't he? 7 in 10 Canadians approved the prorogation, and had there been a snap vote (the other possible outcome, had the Coalition stuck around till the next session in January), he would have "pounded them into radioactive dust", to use Paul Wells' description of the time...

  • Happy happy

    well done!

The Harper shall harp no more

  • OMG I LOVE YOU. This made my day. Its hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.

  • Stephen doesn't want democracy, he wants absolute power! ha ha funny video!

  • great job on the video and lyrics... please post this as a video response on my rap parody I'm On A Break ( a T-Pain spoof) of the proroguing of parliament please!

  • Mr. StephaneGroulxTV: If you would kindly draw your attention to my apology above you would see I realized my error. Thank you for correcting me once again and making me cognizant of the fact that when I use profanity on a message I still cringe like the douche bag that I am weeks later. Good day.

  • Viewer Challenge: Post a Video Response to the tune of Britney Spears' "Oops, I did it again".

  • absolutely phenomenal! I agree 100% with SuzieQ - young Canadians who understand Canadian politics are refreshing.....rosemary likely is a Harperite....sad, really.

  • Can it be updated to cover the new 2010 Taxation without Representation Canadian Harper Dictatorship?

    Terrific!

  • if you looked at the date this video was posted it would have avoided you looking like an idiot.

  • Indeed! You are correct! I stand duly admonished and corrected. My bad! In my haste to escape the awful vocals I clicked away too fast. ;-)

  • cool

  • Im Loving this . Damn some PROGRESSIVE ( whether ya like it or Not that's Canada)Young people that Understand How their Government Works and Like True Canadians can Put the Point Across with Intellegent Humour. Get this Out to the rest of the youth and some of the DUMB old CONservatives for too many Canadians don't know how their Government Works they seem to Think they vote for PM,but no "The HARPER" is not "The PRESIDENT" though he wishes.LMAO Great JOB.

  • Wow, this was really well done! I got quite the kick out of it xD

  • Great Job Pink! I used this as a Homeschool resource.

  • PhillipJFLy82, what Harper had in his recent budget (by way of a clause worded "and all other issues covered in the previous Throne Speech and fiscal update") is to cut funding for pay equity court cases.

This means if a female worker suspects she is being paid less due to her gender, it will be harder for her to take her employer to court...

  • Melissa showed this to me last night, I love it !!! Well done ladies....Producing socially conscious video shorts all while doing your education degree ! well done indeed !

  • Funny vid, but there's nothing about Harper's actions that would "Cut chick rights to equal pay"...

  • omg! this is friggin awesome!

i'm seriously gonna use this in my class presentation for canadian govt.

"so what? I'M STILL THE HARPER"

    bwahahaha

  • is there any way to download the song?

  • AWESOME!

This is exactly the sort of effort we need.

  • I applaud the effort, but this is another example of people buying Harper's campaign of misinformation and not understanding how the parliamentary system works. Harper has lied to and mislead the Canadian people, and he knew full well that this coalition had constitutional and legal basis. It is he who is be undemocratic, and it was he who was perfectly happy to form a coalition with the bloc in 2004. His hypocrisy is endless. Look a little deeper and you will understand the truth.

  • Look a little deeper, and you will understand satire.

    ;-)

    j/k j/k

  • You did a very nice job, but I am trying to stand up for your rights as well.

"If women received the same salary as men who work the same number of hours, have the same education or union status, are the same age, and live in the same region of the country, then these womens annual family income would rise by $4,000, and poverty rates would be cut in half.

(National Organization of Women, Facts about Pay Equity, 2002.)

  • I am glad that you are honing in on the pay equity part of the story. I included it in the song specifically because most Canadians are completely unaware of it.

  • Yes, but then Harper and his buddies wouldn't have any scapegoats to abuse. They're all child abusers; our government has done nothing to iradicate child poverty, 1/4 of Toronto lives in poverty and it's going up while these guys are getting raises! If women can't support their children because their exs don't pay child support, then the government just takes the children away from the moms and places them in foster homes where they are prey to pedophiles. Bet Harper gets a kick out of that!

  • Great parody! Great use of this media to make a point. Even as a card-carrying Liberal, I can't support the Coalition. I mean really - with the BQ? Come on. But Harper, he's an a-hole for getting himself into this in the 1st place. I think he's hanging on to his party's leadership by a thread. He'll be lucky to survive. I suppose he'll be contrite for a while and avoid his own party's wrath. I'm pissed at the Liberals too. Regardless, I enjoyed what you did with Pink's song.

  • Great video. I love to see the things you come up with, very creative girls. Can't wait to see whats next. I guess we all are waiting to see what will happen next.

  • Correction. Technically, you just need to be appointed by the Governor General to be Prime Minister of Canada. "However, by convention designed to maintain stability in government, the Governor General will almost always call on the leader of the party that holds the most seats in the House of Commons to form a government." The key word in this is "almost".

  • Awesome!

  • What is happening with the "coalition" is three losers claiming the right to win.

It's like the three losing teams in the Stanley Cup Final Four saying, "We three teams got more goals in total than the winner, so we should be able to get the Cup and share it between us."

Say yes to democracy. Say no to three losers trying to hijack the government without the voters having a say.

  • >> Say yes to democracy.

This has been said many times, but in Canada we elect MPs, not PMs. Read some history kid. John Turner and Kim Campbell were PMs (briefly), and nobody cried it was undemocratic back then that they weren't elected to the job. No, all you need to be Prime Minister of Canada is a seat in Parliament and confidence in House of Commons. Like it or not, this is how Canada's government has been operating since 1867. Stop listening to Harper's lies and inform yourself.

  • Like it or not, part of Canada's Parliamentary procedures is the ability for the sitting Prime Minister to ask the Governor General to prorogue Parliament in the case of a looming no-confidence vote. The opposition doesn't have any right to attend this private meeting. It's legal. It's in the books. It's a centuries-old system.

Stop listening to "coalition" lies and educate yourself.

Again, if you wish to debate, arm youself with facts, otherwise you look like a fool.

  • I agree that the GG can prorogue Parliament at the request of the PM. But can you name one other time in Canadian history that it has been done to avoid a vote of non confidence? The PM can run and hide, but he'll need the House sooner or later.

  • Can you name even one time in Canadian history that Opposition parties have asked separatists to become part of a ruling government? They say it is to be only BQ "support", but that is dressing up the truth.

  • The Bloc have agreed to support the coalition. But Harper would gladly take the Bloc's vote on a matter of confidence right now (if they could get it), and has done so in the past. Bloc members are duly elected representatives of their ridings, just as much as any other member. Their vote in the House is constitutionally legitimate. like them or not, you cannot just dismiss them and their rights as undemocratic.

  • Well, of course the Conservative have taken Bloc support to get a no-confidence vote to topple the Liberals. But here's the difference:

In 2005, the no-confidence vote toppled the Liberals and triggered a 2006 election where Canadians had their say. The Bloc did NOT sit as part of the resulting Conservative minority gov't.

In 2008, the "coalition" is trying to grab power, WITHOUT an election for us to have our say, and the Bloc would be part of that ruling gov't.

    See? BIG difference.

  • No coalition can "grab power". That is an outright lie and Conservative propaganda. Oppositions parties can only form goverment if invited to do so by the GG. Election results are not overturned, as seats in the House remain unchanged. And again, the coalition in question is between the Liberals & NDP with a promise of support from the Bloc. The Bloc would not be part of government, but even if they were, it would still be legitimate if the GG approved it.

  • Any attempt to change government without consulting with the citizens IS grabbing power. No Canadian has ever voted for a "coalition" of Liberals/NDP/Bloc to rule the country. And despite what they spin to avoid offending Canada, the Bloc WILL be part of their gov't.

You know what? If an election were called with two parties - Conservatives and the LiberalNDPBloc party - and Canadians chose the latter, than THAT would be legitimate (though I would cringe if that happened).

  • Do you dispute the GG's prerogative on who she invites to form government?

Anyhow, it won't matter soon enough. There will be a new Liberal leader before the House sits again, rendering anything Dion signed null & void. But know this, the Liberals are still the official opposition and will NOT be sitting on their hands in the next session. That means if the Conservatives want something passed in the HOC they'll have to deal with the socialists or the sovereignists. Good luck!

  • Constitutional experts would disagree with you. Haper has attacked women's rights to pay equity and this is less of an issue for you? Women are still paid far less on average than there peers. remember equal pay for equal (not lesser work.) Attacking this right does help the economy. Public campaign funding is also vital to a healthy democracy. Even Obama who turned it down says he is strongly in support of it and for good reason. p.s. The Angus Reid Poll says that Layton is the most trusted.

  • Your poor spelling and grammar "Haper" instead of "Harper", "there peers" instead of "their peers", etc. would indicate that you lack education. If you educate yourself, you can expect better jobs and higher pay.

By the way, "Harper" has never attacked equal pay. Don't think I didn't notice that you couldn't quote an official source.

  • Haha, great job sis and cuz!

You certainly make the Volantix Channel more exciting!

    - M.

  • Thats why we are proud to say we are related to such talented people. And Smart too!

  • The one and only thing Harper gives a damn about is obtaining a majority, and keeping it. That's why he tried to bankrupt the opposition parties. He is Canada's version of Vladimir Putin.

  • nice!

  • Great parody! A badass I-don't-give-a-shit attitude may be alright for rock stars, but I expect more from our PM. US news stations now are calling Canada a banana rebublic. Harper has put his own job over the interests of Canadians and has damaged our world standing. Shame on him.
