Additionally, because the vaccine was oral, it is highly unlikely that infection would have occurred. SIV/HIV does not live long or very well outside of living organisms. Contrary to popular notion, SIV/HIV is difficult to transmit for that very reason. In any case, it is highly suggestive that HIV existed in humans long before the 1950's, since samples that have been sequenced from the early 1960's are highly variable, and thus, must have had ample time to mutate through several generations.

It is highly implausible that infection occurred in the Congo the way you described. The vaccine you are referring to, which was oral, was called "Chat." It was a live attenuated vaccine, and during that time, was cultured in kidney cells of monkeys. I'll let you in on a little fact: SIV and HIV cannot live in kidney cells. What's more, several of the vaccines you refer to are still in existence, and have been tested and scrutinized. Guess what? No SIV or HIV was found in them.

The earliest known cases of AIDS occurred in central Africa, in the same regions where Koprowski's polio vaccine was given to over a million people in 1957-1960. The timing coincides. There is no documented case of HIV infection or AIDS before 1959. Centuries of the slave trade and European exploitation of Africa exposed Africans and others to all other diseases then known; it is implausible that HIV could have been present and spreading in Africa without being recognized.

if any of you are familiar with peer reviewed, scientific papers from accredited scientific journals then check out the papers published by Dr. Gallo in the 70's and you can put your skepticism aside. Wouldn't it be smart to search for facts rather than hear something and automatically assume it's not true or is true?

It's one thing for someone to say "yeah i heard this and that..." with no physical evidence. There is physical evidence of these claims. Research everything you hear.

Since you're making that claim, it's your job to support it. Link me to just one peer-reviewed journal article from a reputable source like JAMA, or AMA, or even AAAS that supports any of Horowitz's claims. Let me save you the time, you won't find any because they DON'T exist.

There are very simple explanations for the staggeringly unfounded claims make by Mr. Horowitz: he stands to gain financially for perpetuating this nonsense in the form of books he has written, speaking engagements, etc. The fact is that NONE, absolutely none of his claims are supported by any empirical evidence. He presented no such hardcore evidence in the presentation, only information from highly dubious sources. Don't take my word for it, do your own research from reputable sources.

Your response is quite strange. You haven't detailed which sources and allegations are incorrect whereas the sources such as contracts, dates, names, organizations Horowitz mentions can all be referenced.

The experts who forwarded and commented on his book are also quite reputable. Anyone who does an honest days work stands to benefit financially from that work. I don't think its a crime to make a living telling the truth but it is a sin to make a living telling lies and hiding truth!

What's further, you have not done your homework on the origins of HIV, because if you had, you would know that HIV existed prior to any research done by the doctors you mentioned. Of course, you will simply modify your conspiracy claim to somehow explain away the fact that prior to the research done by the docs you mentioned, HIV was isolated in preserved human tissue samples as early as 1960.

Big pharma has profited because in most cases they have painstakingly developed and tested drugs that improve the lives of billions. That is a worthy endeavor, and therefore they should profit from the massive investment they have had to make.
