This is one of the best SOTN LPs I've seen. Even the Unregistered Hypercam (Which you justified perfectly) is easily excused by the fact that this is far better than most - if not all - others I've seen.

As far as first Lp I have to admit, your quality and poise are wonderful. In my mind, one of the first good female LP'ers. This Lp made me buy the game on PSN >3

@Xenoforge78 beating dracula in under a minute and taking no damage while holding a Cross will yield 80HP 30MP 60HRTS 13STR 12CON 12INT 12LCK. 25MP 13INT if you are holding Holy Water and 20MP if you have no subweapon. You also get items depending on what happens during this stage

I don't recall having many problems when I did this LP years ago. Perhaps google whatever issue you are having? Sorry I can't really help.

@BluePenguinful Can you run other games? If you can't, remember, you need a system BIOS, and you have to configure the sound plug-in and the video plug-in.

Love the LP! Great commentary, fun to watch. Only area where I'd say there's room for improvement would be the recorded sound quality from the game. SOTN has such fantastic music! But otherwise, great job!

just a little piece of advice if you don't take that stuff or whip anything as richter you start with better stats as alucard

The only use for Red Rust is against the Doppleganger bosses. It can put Curse status on them, preventing them from using their primary weapon.

They're also affected by Terminus Est (Poison status), Icebrand (Freeze), and whatever sword causes Stone status.

Did you play this on an actual psx console or is it an emulator? Reason I ask is because I sampled this game on an emu and it didn't look nearly this good, no matter what video settings/filters used and a widescreen HD monitor. The graphics looked kinda washed out.

You should attempt another LP of this in Luck Mode. I tell you its ONE HEADACHE of a time. I've completed this game in Richter Mode, AXE ARMOR mode and Alucart (Max Luck Mode). You can do the basic "Summon Spirit" spell on a keyboard.

I've played through luck mode before. :P It's pretty rough, but a good challenge (since I thought this game was easy when compared to other castlevanias). Don't think I'd LP SOTN again so soon though.

This was the beginning of the end of the old school castlevania line of games huh? I thought so. Too bad. I like the rpg castlevania games (the ones I've played anyway. This isn't one of them) but I enjoy the old school ones a lot more. Have you ever played Circle of the Moon? I think that was my first rpg style game in the series. Fun game, the extra playable modes were cool.

Yeah, the framerates I use on hypercam are still pretty low. :[ Fraps lags less? That's surprising... but I'll have to give fraps another chance then. :P

Yeah, the Bloodlines thing is quite odd. There's the game, the song from Rondo, and if you ever played The Dracula X Chronicles, in the original port of Rondo in the stage select it does in fact say, "Bloodlines" for the last stage. But on the actual start screen for it it says, "The Brink of Death" so I have no idea. I can't read japanese so I couldn't tell ya what it says in the original. Have you played the Symphony port in DX:C? They ruined the voice acting and dialogue in it! Haha.

I think the whole confusion is because they only released certain games for certain systems and some didn't make it over from japan until later. So yeah, oh well. And no, I haven't played the port. That sucks though, the voice acting is the best part of SOTN. ;P
