that looks great. if n64 was disc-based, it would probably be indisputably the best system ever... sony playstation would've been another 3do or sega saturn. nintendo would've gotten final fantasy, maybe even metal gear, in addition to the fantastic first and second party titles (hello, rare!!). the gaming world would've been a lot different if nintendo had jumped on the cd bandwagon.
Resident Evil Zero was quite weird that it released in 2002 for the Gamecube instead of the N64. It also released the same year as Resident Evil Gamecube reboot and Resident Evil: Survivor 2: Deadly Aim for the PS2. Capcom was really weird then with not only the Dreamcast port of Resident Evil Code: Veronica called Veronica X, but also phase off the actual story with Outbreak following right after that with Outbreak File no.2 for the first time with online access for the PS2.
this would've been way more fun than the GC version, there's just something about these old graphics that makes games so much more fun than games nowadays.

every console could beat a sony console. playstation only got big because of 2 things. advertising and a lack of serious competition (with ps1 and ps2). so most developers flocked to them for easy programming and sales.ps1 was awesome,ps2 sucked but there was no real competition.

THe n64 had better graphics than the Playstation because if you compared Resident Evil 1 with Mario 64 You would see that Mario had better graphics they are more colorful and the textures are better.
Also raging tom.They manage to use a compression method in order to fit it in one cartridge.However the heavy compression did leave a negative impact on FMVs.
most everyone thinks n64 sucked because they were to childish and that it was cartridge based how many ps1s ps2s ps3s xboxs xbox360s gamecubes and wiis have failed on the first or even 2nd manufactured runs. i still own a nintendo 64 and on the back of the box it says 11-96. guess how many times its failed? 0... long live my n64!!!
@UberTranceK Sony superior? That is to laugh. At the time it couldn't even support 4-player at launch while N64 equipped it at start. Later they made a $30.00 muti-tap that was not even worth the money. Wanna know where my PS2 and PS1 are? Broken either lens or system wise. Now my N64, it's right next to my tv fully functional and operational, and it's been like 7 years it still works. Faulty Japanese parts? I swear even the cartridges work. RE2, STILL working now that's an incredibile system.
I hate to agree because i may sound like a Fan-Boy but..........I have like 3 PSOnes. One works (after i fixed it) one doesnt work, and the other one's laser died. I have no more PS2 systems anymore because they stopped working. I wanna Play Megaman Anniversary Damn it! My N64 on the other hand ive had since i was a kid. Still plays and it's been through hell and back. Hell i still have an Xbox that still works!
@ThePowergloveNinja Megaman Aniversary? Why not the MegamanX Collection? All the old Megamans are very easy to emulate, and afterall it is emulating the games on 1 disc so...there wouldn't be any harm downloading from a ROM site one-by-one. I mean you technically are owner of the games. Anyway, I'm a fan of the X series and Battle Network, I have played Megaman 1, 2, 9, 10, though. The originals are way harder than the newer series. I beaten Megaman X 1, 2, 3, 5 no problem.
Emulating games doesn't really feel the same as playing them on console.
Also I never could find a copy of Megaman X collection. Besides i do got all X games besides X2 and X7. That wouldnt stop me from getting the X collection though :P
@ThePowergloveNinja I know what you mean, I constantly used to feel that way, but when you hardly have any money emulation is the next big thing. Also since it's just memory, it can break, unlike a CD or Cartridge, and memory can't corrupt from a shortage battery save file. I have saved a bundle of cash downloading Wii games other than buying them, I do rarely buy them but only to get the cover, it doesn't feel great to emulate, seeing that it can't beat the real deal.
@SUPERMARIOSONICX Don't know about ur problesm but my PS1 and PS2 work well!!! I blieve it comes down to how one takes cares ov the system!!! My PS1 is packed away in a box, i can take it out 2morrow and it will work just great, and my PS2 is still going strong never ever had an issue!!!! Just saying some people colud have gotten shitty systems or who knows????

@UberTranceK Yeah, everyone has their own opinion, I know...as I said "I like the PS1 and PS2", all I'm saying is that the PS1 wasn't as prepared as the N64 at launch. I'm not saying that they suck, just saying that it was they were both inferior...In a way, I still have my PS1 and PS2 discs, just saying that the N64 lasted longer and supplied with 4 player, it was a bit ahead at it's time despite that 300MB on a PS1 disc, and 32Mb on an N64 cartridge.It was also more durable.

N64 did come with the 4 plyer, and was good when buddies comes over, the PS1 and PS2 kept the individual in mind, and maybe a sibling or close comrades in mind as well!!!! While I did own the N64 until recently, it was ans is still a good sytem!!! NO DOUBT
@jmanideth i agree, same for the older computers like the megadrive, amiga etc. I think the gamecube is a classic console, it had some really great games like luigi's mansion and the resi evil remake and it was just about gaming. The wii is where it went to shit, trying to focus on loosing weight and appealing to more than just gamers, that was a sellout to nintendo

Sounds cool, but Capcom can't do it... Or I don't think so. Before RE4 they signed a contract with Nintendo, so now, the mansion incedent, the training managment facility, and Raccoon City can only be on Nintendo consoles, but RE's that arent any of those can... weird... jes, jes it is.

@RagingTom you do realize that in order for the game to remain at the highest resolution possible for the N64, one must kill every enemy within the room they're in. the N64 had compression. while it was able to maintain 2 discs compressed onto one cartridge, it suffered with muffling and reduced FMV quality. aside from exclusive content like the EX files, blood color, higher violence, and randomizer, the PS1, especially the DualShock re-release was a superior version with more content.

Also, it was only out for about 5 or 6 years, not 10 years. N64 has a better graphics and processor, it's a proven fact, not something that is debatable.
precisely, the n64 was superioir to the ps in terms of graphics and loading times. what made the ps better was the optical disks, which allowed bigger games, and the game library.
@Zectro15Tero No. They're not. Not by a long shot. The N64 surpasses the PS1 in every way imaginable. I mean, for crying out loud, the PS1 didn't even have a software renderer! It was all hardware rendering, which made the games look extremely pixelated. I remember playing MGS1 for my PS1 and literally taking the CD and busting it on my back porch along with the console because the graphics were so fucking horrible.
Actually, it's nearly three times faster than the PSX, it's CPU was 33MHz and the N64's was 93.75MHz, but the polygon count wasn't as high and it never could push super realistic graphics. There are a few exceptions, though.
The N64 could push its polygons faster than the PS1. Despite the ps1 having 300,000 polys and the N64 having only 150,000 polys. If only it had alot of ram. Man I wish I was able to design and produce n64 games.
I really doubt that Resident Evil 0 was released for the Nintendo 64 in japan. Why would they release this while the Gamecube was around the corner. I read that only 1000 copies were released but i don't see any proof or videos or photos of anyone with a copy.
actually, it WAS released and i do agree with simpsonfan 2112 (I myself found a copy of it at Jaytown {Juarez}) of the game for 64. From other sources i found out that it was first released exclusively for 64 but do to the 64's life period coming to an end they moved it for the gamecube (only a few copies were made) but the game itself is the same except with 64 graphics
i was ready to buy a n64 just for this game when i heard about it but then when i found out it was canceled i literally put the n64 back on the shelf the day i found out xD
It's not unreleased! I saw this at a local pawn shop, Resident Evil 0 for the N64. I thought I was freaking out, so I picked it up and looked at it. Just like this preview.
im happy that they canceled it for the N64. gamecube would be a better choice for the game in my opinion. Also only Jill wears those hats so they messed up Rebecca
i rember reading about the game in a gameinformer. i thought the gamecube version was remake to the game. but i found out that the game didn' come on the n64.
Well back then we thought it might have been amazing but i guess with all the new consoles like the playstation 3 and the xbox 360 and the wii we really don't think these graphics are good anymore don't get me wrong I love these games and I have nothing against the older consoles I still play them to this day.

@UberTranceK Yeah, everyone has their own opinion, I know...as I said "I like the PS1 and PS2", all I'm saying is that the PS1 wasn't as prepared as the N64 at launch. I'm not saying that they suck, just saying that it was they were both inferior...In a way, I still have my PS1 and PS2 discs, just saying that the N64 lasted longer and supplied with 4 player, it was a bit ahead at it's time despite that 300MB on a PS1 disc, and 32Mb on an N64 cartridge.It was also more durable.

N64 did come with the 4 plyer, and was good when buddies comes over, the PS1 and PS2 kept the individual in mind, and maybe a sibling or close comrades in mind as well!!!! While I did own the N64 until recently, it was ans is still a good sytem!!! NO DOUBT

@jmanideth i agree, same for the older computers like the megadrive, amiga etc. I think the gamecube is a classic console, it had some really great games like luigi's mansion and the resi evil remake and it was just about gaming. The wii is where it went to shit, trying to focus on loosing weight and appealing to more than just gamers, that was a sellout to nintendo

Sounds cool, but Capcom can't do it... Or I don't think so. Before RE4 they signed a contract with Nintendo, so now, the mansion incedent, the training managment facility, and Raccoon City can only be on Nintendo consoles, but RE's that arent any of those can... weird... jes, jes it is.

@RagingTom you do realize that in order for the game to remain at the highest resolution possible for the N64, one must kill every enemy within the room they're in. the N64 had compression. while it was able to maintain 2 discs compressed onto one cartridge, it suffered with muffling and reduced FMV quality. aside from exclusive content like the EX files, blood color, higher violence, and randomizer, the PS1, especially the DualShock re-release was a superior version with more content.

Also, it was only out for about 5 or 6 years, not 10 years. N64 has a better graphics and processor, it's a proven fact, not something that is debatable.

@Zectro15Tero No. They're not. Not by a long shot. The N64 surpasses the PS1 in every way imaginable. I mean, for crying out loud, the PS1 didn't even have a software renderer! It was all hardware rendering, which made the games look extremely pixelated. I remember playing MGS1 for my PS1 and literally taking the CD and busting it on my back porch along with the console because the graphics were so fucking horrible.

Actually, it's nearly three times faster than the PSX, it's CPU was 33MHz and the N64's was 93.75MHz, but the polygon count wasn't as high and it never could push super realistic graphics. There are a few exceptions, though.

I really doubt that Resident Evil 0 was released for the Nintendo 64 in japan. Why would they release this while the Gamecube was around the corner. I read that only 1000 copies were released but i don't see any proof or videos or photos of anyone with a copy.

actually, it WAS released and i do agree with simpsonfan 2112 (I myself found a copy of it at Jaytown {Juarez}) of the game for 64. From other sources i found out that it was first released exclusively for 64 but do to the 64's life period coming to an end they moved it for the gamecube (only a few copies were made) but the game itself is the same except with 64 graphics
