  • So generally, in these times of 'diabolic disorientation' as Sr. Lucy put it, I agree with your thesis. I think His Lordship Bishop Williamson also would agree with this if presented to him properly. But why the whole 'Joshuan' bizz?

  • @Hristoroquen [1/2] I'd love to talk to Bishop Williamson about this, but you're right. It sounds too disrespectful. It's hard to explain it without sounding disrespectful. Today's apostasy is not a deliberate rejection of Christ, but an overall loss of faith in one or more essential truths of the faith. The first step of overall repentance is to see that we fell into apostasy. That's why the fulfillment of St. Paul's prophecy, in the new mass, was good. It helps us to see that we fell into...

  • @Hristoroquen [2/2] ...apostasy. The "Joshuan" bizz is based on the premise that the time of apostasy is a time for God's people to ask Him for a new name. Last time, Satan stole the name "Jews" (Rev 2v9, 3v9). This time, Satan has stolen the name "Christians." A new name would serve the purpose of warning others that we have entered into the time of apostasy. "Joshua" is a direct translation of the Lord's Hebrew name into English. "Jesus" is the result of going from Hebrew to Greek to English.

  • @DanielJohn2300 I understand your reasoning, but I think at this point we have to defend the name Christian and Catholic. Also to try to change now would be too confusing. Lastly, 'Joshuan' sounds all too protestant/calvinist; with its Old Testament flavour.

  • @Hristoroquen I see what you're saying too. But I see a new name, not as a replacement, but as as an additional name. It helps to defend an existing name, because the ones who steal our name are deceived by their father, the devil. They don't know that they've stolen our name, because they're deceived. If they hear a new name, and the purpose of the new name, then they're more likely to see that they've stolen our name. "Joshua" is also a rebuke to all who have feminized the Lord Jesus. ;-)

  • @Hristoroquen One other thing, if we ever use a new name, like Joshuan (follower of Jesus), we need to say "I am called a Joshuan," not "I am a Joshuan." If we say "I am a Joshuan" then, depending on the accuracy of our statement, it either glorifies us or it exposes us as a liar. Neither is good for God. Neither is bad for Satan. But if we say "I am called a Joshuan," then it either glorifies God, the One who called us a Joshuan, or it exposes Satan, the one who lied by calling us a Joshuan.

  • Interesting. Venerable Sister Anna Katerina Emmerick, BTW, maintained that she saw in one of her revelations that Protestants remain the longest in purgatory becasue they have no one to pray for them. Thus, proving that Protestants can and are saved. This is not bibilical, of course, but merely supports part of your thesis.
