Actually you can see her leaning in the back just before the explosion, and the male kid ( dont know his name) called out her name just as the explosion hit, and thirdly the girl was staring at the car because her friend just burned in it. Normally you do Really good at spotting things, am supprised that you didn't catch that.

Jason Takes Manhattan ahhh...the random teleporting scenes. I think its safe to say that Jason can bend and manipulate space and time, but only does it to mess with their heads instead of useful things like getting out of the way of oncoming cars.

perhaps he teleported the mom out of the car at some point when he was distracting (Christy?) and killed her. I don't know!
