I don't put on facebook anything i wouldnt want everyone to see or hear. You can join like minded groups, share websites and videos. if the truth hurts, i inflict a lot of pain. Most of my friends are just gaming friends, the others are into spreading truth like the we are change ppl all over the world who are waking up to their tyrannical govts. Dangerous? hardly. Dangerous for the global elite. we've open their doors and blowing them off.

If you or your friends play games or allow apps all your information is shared to the world. If you allow people to google your name they can find your profile picture in full size. Your activity and links to other pages can also be googled. Everything you share on facebook you should consider public to everybody even you set it to friends only.
@RyunSharp No. It's hard to explain. You can however leave the site. You can never delete your account, only deactivate it. In other words: Once you've made an account, it's there forever. The only way to get far away as possible from this thing is to strip your profile of everything: Videos, pictures, any info, and then "deactivate" your account followed by deleting the email you use to create the account. This video is quite old and ever since the policies of Facebook in particular have been updated to increase the privacy of individuals. Regardless of that, people should be careful in regards to trusting any social networking websites with their own personal privacy. Once the information is on the net, it's on the net. Regarding companies looking at your Facebook account, they are a bunch of stalkers and unethical. Also, imagine if what happened to the Playstation Network service happens to FB!

When you work for a corporation their is no such thing as privacy...corporation is just a fancy word for a group of people that work together, in essence, the people that work for the corporation is the corporation, your just an extension of it.

I don't think people realize that privatizing your Facebook account will not deter the government/corporations from accessing their information. The fact that it is in their data bases allows them to view whatever information you posted of yourself. The only plausible solution is to not have a Facebook account, period. If you do, don't post your personal information.

If you or your friends play games or allow apps all your information is shared to the world. If you allow people to google your name they can find your profile picture in full size. Your activity and links to other pages can also be googled. Everything you share on facebook you should consider public to everybody even you set it to friends only.

@RyunSharp No. It's hard to explain. You can however leave the site. You can never delete your account, only deactivate it. In other words: Once you've made an account, it's there forever. The only way to get far away as possible from this thing is to strip your profile of everything: Videos, pictures, any info, and then "deactivate" your account followed by deleting the email you use to create the account. Its a hard world

This video is quite old and ever since the policies of Facebook in particular have been updated to increase the privacy of individuals. Regardless of that, people should be careful in regards to trusting any social networking websites with their own personal privacy. Once the information is on the net, it's on the net. Regarding companies looking at your Facebook account, they are a bunch of stalkers and unethical. Also, imagine if what happened to the Playstation Network service happens to FB!

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 The data subject (the person whose data is stored) must consent ("given their permission") to the processing so if i wish for facebook to take down a photo of me then by legal obligation they have to because i have not consented to the use of that personal data (the photo of me). I don't think people realize that privatizing your Facebook account will not deter the government/corporations from accessing their information. The fact that it is in their data bases allows them to view whatever information you posted of yourself. The only plausible solution is to not have a Facebook account, period. Everything that facebook is giving us is for good (in terms of entertainment, recreation, and social connections)! Did facebook told you to harvest your farm 24/7? or did it forced you to monitor your cafe and pet all day and play poker until midnight? OF COURSE NOT!

The way facebook is set up, it causes people to fear 'strangers' it increases racial intolerance (I have indian friends who are always called 'terrorists' by facebook users). To stick with small circles of people, to form little internet tribes, and continue to play suck up highschool games, and to enhance the drama of said games by encouraging ostracism and exclusion. It invades privacy by demanding your phone number for every little thing you do, constantly bombards you with shit.

it destroys true connections? facebook cannot do it! its the users responsibility! Its up to you if you would let somebody destroy your true connections. FACEBOOK IS JUST A SITE. IT BRINGS NO HARM IF YOU WOULD NOT PUT YOURSELF INTO TROUBLE BECAUSE OF USING IT IRRESPONSIBLY.

Wrong it possesses people to bring out their worse qualities. All the things that make the human race SHIT are mad worse by facebook. A recent study shows that it ruins relationships too. And another study says it increases feelings of alienation amongst the teenage population.

I don't really see why employers should care what i do in my private life.
If I do whatever I am asked to do with pride and as long as my private life doesn't affect my job, why should it matter?
That's my dad's philosophy. My dad doesn't care if I go party out at night. As long as I show up on time, not intoxicated, who cares?

@Cjorfi I'm not saying this to 'fight' with you but the 'law' is not or ever will be on the side of the 500 million or whatever people who use facebook lol. The 'creator' of FB has openly said (you can look this up if you don't believe me) that the people who use it are 'dumb fxxks' because of the personal info they submit. FB was set up as a social experiment (even that I don't believe) & is now CIA run. As for your '?' 'how long do they have it for?' FOREVER. Huge databases have seen to that.
