The vocal rendition of the two ladies in the video posted by tearipper is the best of all.
Durga Mcbroom and Lorelei McBroom's rendition in the video recommended by mogfinger definitely pales in comparison.
Mcbroom sisters’ performance was no way up to the high standard of emotional expression demanded by this masterpiece regardless of the fact that they had been chosen by the original Pink Floyd to be their backing vocalists.
In fact one of the Mcbroom sisters betrayed her lack of genuine feelings with foolish smiles (4:17-21) (4:39-40) during her singing of this deeply spiritual song that stares at the face of death and pain without fear.
Her foolish smiles betrayed the fact that she was more involved in flaunting her not-so-great vocal skill than in giving her heart and soul to this song.
The other sister was rather weak in her vocal skill in spite of her genuine feelings.
For those who want to discredit my truthful comment regarding the Mcbroom sisters by playing the race card need to forget about it.
I have criticized a Caucasian lady in another video for having a whorish smile because she was trying to please the audience with her frequent smiles instead of her feelings while singing this song
I have also made another version with a black lady as one of the three fantastic vocalists to be my favorite.
Nice job ladies. Doesn't quite capture the pain that Clare put into it but still a nice job. Let's keep in mind, this song is about dying. First singer seems to be smiling. That kind of sits funny with me. It's death we're talking about here. I have listened to every version of this that I can find. The singers with Pink Floyd in the live 1988 Nassau Coliseum show belt it out the best. It just feels painful. Nonetheless, great job girls. Oh, and ease up on the hand work.
I wonder why you say the first lady seems to be smiling. Can you point out the time frame during which you think she was smiling? I can't see her smile at all except at the end of the song with the second lady, which is an appropriate thing to do. Even a mother who screamed in excruciating pain during child birth would break out in smile after the baby is born. Could you have mistaken her to be smiling when her beautiful teeth were exposed while screaming her heart out?
A very good performance but sincerely not the best. Just listen the version with Bianca Antoinette ! It's really the most similar you could never hear !
I respect Pink Floyd to be the creator of this fantastic song, however, I agree with you that this version is better than the original due to the supreme performance of the two ladies.
thank you for agreeing, it was my stepmother who took me to see the Austrailian Pink Floyd Show, she introduced me tp it, I am only 14 and my mother would not let me go by myself, I was only 11 then.

It’s not about race. It’s all about feelings.

I almost cry at the Blonde one... Damn...
Clare Torry is sublime just because she sings the whole song by herself, alone.
But these two are godesses, definitely

This is the only version that is as good as the original.
The performance of the two ladies is absolutely impeccable.
Their grace, beauty and style are just as precious as their vocal talent.
Definitely 10/10.
