look at how different everyone looked! muriel was thinner uestas was a little shorter it seems, and courages voice was different. in fact everyones was. truly the first before the series started. the one that scared me most, and my favorite of all time.
In never really liked these kind of episodes cuz they don't talk and courages voice sounds to evil honestly the only thing I like about this is that they actually believe him nut not to be rude I like the old episodes better they just seem more I don't know but that's just my opinion! Oh ya and thank you so much Hannah Barbra for creating this show its one of my favs!
i kant belive hw easy it was back den he snapped the chickens neck eustsce turns into a zombie chicken and c ourage shoots him wat has happened to cartoons theres no luv ne mre people just draw and throw nethang 2getha diz is a true classic
Wasn't there another version of this in the main series of CTCD? There was one where the space chickens take Eustace and Muriel hostage and courage has to rescue them IIRC
@kobra If there's one thing I ask the Academy is this: of all the short animated films that were nominated the year this came out. Normally, short animated don't get that huge public attention as well as "The Chicken from Outer Space" did, so why didn't this win. Seriously. It's short. It's hilarious. It's to the point when telling a story. What could be better than this?
@sugarpunch18 No offense, but I find Wallace & Grommit easily forgettable and dull. I'm sure it's a great animated franchise, but I just never found the interest in it. I remember growing up in the '90's and first saw, "The Chicken from Outer Space" and I was like, "Wow!" with laughter. It sucks Courage the Cowardly Dog show was done with years ago.
@jsteffey88 Don't get me wrong, I myself like them both equally as they were both a big part of my childhood. I just mean that at least Courage lost to a worthy opponent and not to something completely mindless and stupid.
I guess my main point is this: win or lose, I myself couldn't be a bigger fan of Courage! XD
this shit especially the transformation was damn scary back then, worse thing is that they usually showed it very late, but I still watched it, like it was child crack lol
its wierd to say this but when i was a kid i loved this show but now that im 17 i cant believe how this show was so dark and yet i couldn't stop laughing to it. it strange
Something is seriously wrong with John R. Dilworth; I do enjoy Courage the Cowardly Dog, though :) I like how Courage and the Chicken engage in the strangest forms of combat; arm wrestling, checker playing, fencing, etc.
I haven't seen this original episode in years, and decided to go to YouTube and see if they had it. Courage the Cowardly Dog is definetly my favorite cartoon from my childhood, and I agree with everybody who says the new cartoons these days suck.
Nostalgia strikes once again. There were actually not many good cartoons like this one on the Dutch television, and now there are none. But this, together with Ren and Stimpy, were my definite favorite TV-shows when I was a kid, and they provided me with enough nightmare fuel for the rest of my life.
YES! I love this cartoon! I'm so glad it made it to Cartoon Network as a series! Every episode no matter how disturbing or creepy it got was very creative. I remember seeing this one for the very first time and I loved it even though Muriel and Eustace never said much. Courage is a character and I hope he's stays in the Cartoon Network Hall of Fame!
Damn, I loved this show. This was the very first presentation of it on TV. I remember watching What a Cartoon and this was my favorite thing on it. Kids shows today suck.
Not at all. Besides Courage, other shows that started out as shorts on the What a Cartoon show and got their own series include Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, Mike, Lu, and Og, and Whatever Happened to Robot Jones.
@megadork456 It came from this. See, back in the day, Hanna Barbara/Cartoon Network had a bunch of it's animators come up with their own cartoon ideas to pitch/have on their anthology show "What A Cartoon" (Seth McFarland of "Family Guy" contributed a cartoon and many classic CN series got their start here). This was John R. Dilworth's contribution and since it got rave reviews, plus an Emmy nomination, they contracted him to produce a full series based on the character.
hannah barbera cartoon huh? that prod was the best for each other programns...now it is not the same the real passion has been lost in time and too many modifications around it..we were bred by this amazin show pr somthing we can proudly say it's one of the things that made me the person i am now... the newest childhood will be scared but not for this ( it was so innocent an pure) but the crappy show that are showin out ... what they have become into? monsters you killed my innocent me LOL!!
