The more you advance through the video, the funnier it gets, since the bottom of the screen get's overwhelmed with bored developers! I'm pretty sure they would rather stick to the computer all day working on Sketchup than talk about the improvements in Sketchup. But I guess letting these people do whatever they want in front of the camera is Google's way of telling the audience that these people are the real developers! LOL

@JessLaFesse82, Hi, If you write the exact time in the format of 'minutes:seconds' (without quote marks) youtube will automatically post this as a time link. Just make sure you use a colon between the minutes and seconds. Example: 0:29 1:29 etc. Hope this helps Jess :)

I've just tried to add some of my own textures from photoshop to the paintbucket options - it says they're there, at the bottom of the dropdown with a tick against them - but not showing up in the swatches. Anyone?

I'm impressed with how bad this video is.

- Dialog volume and pacing with the first guy is inconsistent. And his accent is annoying.

- Pauses between some people is way too long. Even some of their lines have awkwardly long pauses between them.

- I can hear a humming noise in the background which turns down between dialog.

- The asian guy looks uncomfortable in front of the camera

- Some guy yells at 1:27 for no reason.

- I can hear loud breathing, especially at 2:27

blue screen or green screen for the effect of the background, it takes anything blue and adds it to the background, so if u r wearing a blue shirt, it will look like u have no torso

The door is a dynamic component with some simple animation attributes assigned to it. Look in the 3D Warehouse and you should be able to find components like this.

im a new user of sketch up and i really need ur help as soon as possible because i need to turn in my architecture project this thursday. i need help on how to make a hole on a wall. i put a square or circle on the wall but all i know is to pull and push it but i dont know how to build a hole on it.

If you draw a square on a wall which has a thickness of of say 200mm, you then pull the face in until it touches the other side of the wall (200mm in this case) it will then automatically disappear leaving you with an opening.

Sketchup7 isn't so hard it's got some improvements over previous incarnations and I've made a lot of cool buildings in Google SketchUp7 glad I downloaded Google Sketchup instead of blowing hard earned dough on more complicated and pricey software. Good thing youtube has all these video tutorials on how to use google sketchup! Without these tutorials I'd probably be just as confused as you are.

Because they have better cameras than your glasses. Since they have better cameras, they might use this program to fix textures (like the one shown on the video) from StreetView pictures their cameras took. (which hides privacy) lol!!! <:-D
