@bowman2062 erst informieren, dann schreiben!!! Der Eigentümer war schon tot bzw bewusstlos, als er die Klippe hinauf fuhr, so Augenzeugen. Zudem war Heselden mit einem Prototyp unterwegs und keineswegs mit einem Serienmodell. Ich finde es schlimm, wie die Elektromobilität in Deutschland durch in den Medien verbreitete Halbwahrheiten schlecht gemacht wird. Ich bin selbst Segwayfahrer und meine Einschätzung im Vergleich zum Fahrradfahren ist, dass der Segway sicherer ist....

@bowman2062 .... vorausgesetzt, man vertraut dem Segway, ist mit ihm fast 100%ig vertraut (was nach ca. 2 std. Eingewöhnung der Fall ist) und ist nicht so passiv wie ein Crashtestdummy. Fakt ist, dass man sich bei einem plötzlich auftauchenden Hindernis sofort nach hinten bewegt. Und genau darauf reagiert der Segway mit einer Bremsung. Wenn man das Gerät weiter begriffen hat, merkt man, dass man den Bremsweg von 20 km/h auf etwa 3-4m reduzieren kann, wenn man stark einlenkt, wie beim Skifahren.

Bin den Segway leider noch nicht gefahren. Diie Idee als solche st ja auch nicht schlecht. Das Konzept hat was, ganz ohne Zweifel. Aber ob Jeder ,.. zumal Personen fortgeschrittenen Alters ... die nötige Reaktion besitzen ist anzuzweifeln. Das aber jemand TOT auf dem Segway steht ist lächerlich. Wer jemals mit frisch Verstorbenen zu tun gehabt hat (ich habe das) weiß das denen jegliche Körperspannung fehlt. Selbst angeschnallt wäre er wie ein nasser Sack in sich zusammengesackt.

@bowman2062 vielleicht war er ja irgendwie gegen herunterfallen gesichert, lehnte sich gerade nach vorne und hing über dem Lenker und in der Sicherungseinrichtung. Fotos des Geräts werden nicht veröffentlicht, da es sich um einen Prototyp handelt. Aber deswegen ein schlechtes Licht auf Segways zu werfen, finde ich falsch. Zuvor ist noch niemand auf einem der etwa 100.000 Segways gestorben, es gab auch keine Lähmungen. In sofern sehe ich die UDV als Verfechter konventioneller Technologien.
