I LOVE this video; Azula is one of the best character's in the series. The effects, while slightly overdone, were pretty good, and the song just seemed to fit our favorite princess. I think that you should've added in Azula's voice at the end of the video though, just to add to it. When I first saw the video, it made me think that this song fits Ty Lee and Azula very well. My favorite Azula poses was 1:50 and 0:58. There's just something sexy about Azula smirking with her hair loose.. Good job

All we got was M&B's word in an interview, while the last thing we saw was Azula breaking down after her defeat. "If they didn't bother to show it (along with the Ursa scene) then it's not worth arguing over."
@worldends08 I thought "Azula's pure evil" was just turmoil from not being loved enough. It still makes me mad that people see Azula as a mindless killer, when really she's the most complicated of all characters.
@QuidditchMaster86 I just blame M&B for creating such an addcitive franchise; and they're just tormenting us with 12 episodes, which - according to Ian Graham - are guaranteed to be great! Maybe the flipbook comic coming out in May 2007 will fill us fans in regarding what happened to the GAang. (It's a big comic book convention; and apparently Dark Horse is releasing an A:TLA/Star Wars flipbook comic - one comic, two separate stories.)

This is so well done! This is probably the first and last time I will agree that the overuse of effecs was most definately a good call. And I love your analysys of how she lost it. The point where I realised something BAD was going to come eventually was, by pure coincidence, watching the beach right after zuko alone. I realised that losing her mom messed with her just as much as, if not more than, zuko. The difference is she bottled it up. Good plan.

Just look at Zuko in season 1. If not his uncle, he would be no better than her.
My thoughts about Ty Lee's betrayal always were that she understood that Azula had all chances to kill Mai if she didn't act. Knocking out Azula meant that Mai will be safe, but if she had knocked out Mai, Azula still could go rampage.

Personally I think that your effects are perfect in this, it matches wonderfully with the message you were trying to give. Azula going insane, the girl in the song going insane, the effects went insane just how they should be..... overall, great job. Awesome message, it matches Azula awesomely and I'm sure no one except a pro could've done better! Five stars and a favorite =)
Hmm... I think you could have used the effects in a slightly more beat-matching way, you know? To kind of add to the video. They seemed like they were just kind of random, like there was a lot of color-changing where I felt like it just didn't need to be, and it didn't add to the video or really, the overall effect you were trying to go for.

I've been watching this video over and over again for a few days now, but never left a comment until now. Personally, I love the idea of putting so many effects into it to reflect Azula's state of mind and I agree that having less effects would have lessened the feeling of unstableness and insanity the video has. If this was done on any other video I would say way too many effects, but for this one it fit perfectly and I really liked it. 5 stars in my book. It was well put together.

you're right. but i wanted it this way. i don't normally go insane, pun unintended, with effects but i felt this was the way to do it. and it was summer. and i was bored. and the hallmark of a good film maker is knowing how to use timing, effects and transitions to get their point across. i also think since you clearly watched it and were overwhelmed by the effects then it did what i wanted. and i'm pleased. i only commented on the side bar so that people would stop leaving three word comments: "too many effects". overall that doesn't tell me much. say what you said or say "i think clip at 3:01 didn't need to be red". most people get what i'm going for and most people say yeah, a bit on the effects but the notion fits, so on. that's all i want. can't change it anyway.
i think, if you were to remake this one instead of all sorts of effects with no pattern, u could try being selective with picking ccertain scenes and altering them, i understand the concept of overwhelming, but again that can be done with less

Well, if the creator made a pattern, then it wouldn't be the effect he/she was looking for. People who lose their sanity aren't predictable, and neither are they a pattern. They're very unstable (like the effects show). I like the way the creator made it, and the effects did the exact thing they were aiming for.
yes, Zuko's life was hard but I think he was equipped to handle it and had someone to help him through. Azula was not stable enough to handle true hardship and had no one to help her.

I agree, I would love to see Azula "rehabilitated" but I think there is some sort of personality disorder or mental instability inhibiting any sense of normalcy in her life. Unfortunely, only with what we know there is no way to tell. But simply: she lost something, and by many resons she can't get it back. That made her angry. She got all but one think, as you have said.
One last addition I would like to make: she always controlled others by traiton and fear. Now, she "got ready" for what she knew it was to come.

Thanks! Yeah, Azula is far from my favorite, in fact I really don't like her. I mean, I know you're supposed to hate her (she's the bad guy) but even so, I still don't like her. But she's a fascinating psychological study.

Obviously you have done quite some thinking about this, and I think that your description of Azula is perfect, just a girl breaking down, and it really comes forward in the chaotic video. The song also fits Azula perfectly.

Thank you. We all forget that Azula is 15 years old with an enormous amount of strain put on her. On top of that she's dealing with just being a teenaged girl, which is dysfunctional enough.

Personally I think that your effects are perfect in this, it matches wonderfully with the message you were trying to give. Azula going insane, the girl in the song going insane, the effects went insane just how they should be..... overall, great job. Awesome message, it matches Azula awesomely and I'm sure no one except a pro could've done better! Five stars and a favorite =)

Hmm... I think you could have used the effects in a slightly more beat-matching way, you know? To kind of add to the video. They seemed like they were just kind of random, like there was a lot of color-changing where I felt like it just didn't need to be, and it didn't add to the video or really, the overall effect you were trying to go for.
Most of it was still acceptable, though. I've never really been a big fan of Azula, though.

haha. she does have one, she jsut never really got the chance to show it. i think it really came out when she went to find Zuko at the summer palace on Ember Island and invited him to the and how depressing that place was. I think that was really her soft side.

I've been watching this video over and over again for a few days now, but never left a comment until now. Personally, I love the idea of putting so many effects into it to reflect Azula's state of mind and I agree that having less effects would have lessened the feeling of unstableness and insanity the video has. If this was done on any other video I would say way too many effects, but for this one it fit perfectly and I really liked it. 5 stars in my book. It was well put together.

you're right. but i wanted it this way. i don't normally go insane, pun unintended, with effects but i felt this was the way to do it. and it was summer. and i was bored. and the hallmark of a good film maker is knowing how to use timing, effects and transitions to get their point across. Sometimes just good timing isn't as visually jarring as overloaded effects. I wanted to overload people with it. How unstable would it look if just about every clip had nothing on it? i see your point but tbc

i also think since you clearly watched it and were overwhelmed by the effects then it did what i wanted. and i'm pleased. i only commented on the side bar so that people would stop leaving three word comments: "too many effects". overall that doesn't tell me much. say what you said or say "i think clip at 3:01 didn't need to be red". most people get what i'm going for and most people say yeah, a bit on the effects but the notion fits, so on. that's all i want. can't change it anyway.

i think, if you were to remake this one instead of all sorts of effects with no pattern, u could try being selective with picking ccertain scenes and altering them, i understand the concept of overwhelming, but again that can be done with less

my other videos, the ones that were removed (GRRRRRR!) by youtube are more indicative of my real style. my last post didn't post so i may say some of this twice. I hope to put up a Katara vid this weekend. So keep an eye out. I appreciate your input and I normally agree with you. But lots of people really like this video and more importantly I really like it too. And you've been very respectful, which I really, well, respect. All I ask is that you not write off my skill based on one video.

Well, if the creator made a pattern, then it wouldn't be the effect he/she was looking for. People who lose their sanity aren't predictable, and neither are they a pattern. They're very unstable (like the effects show). I like the way the creator made it, and the effects did the exact thing they were aiming for.

I agree with you completely on your theory of Azula. I think that Azula was the one who had much harder of a life than Zuko in a sense.

yes, Zuko's life was hard but I think he was equipped to handle it and had someone to help him through. Azula was not stable enough to handle true hardship and had no one to help her.

I agree, I would love to see Azula "rehabilitated" but I think there is some sort of personality disorder or mental instability inhibiting any sense of normalcy in her life. Human mind is us, and we know ourselves based on what we see in others ans in reactions. Cutting the nice but no-space-here discussion, my answer:
Unfortunely, only with what we know there is no way to tell. But simply: she lost something, and by many resons she can't get it back. That made her angry. She got all but one think, as you have said.
One last addition I would like to make: she always controlled others by traiton and fear. Now, she "got ready" for what she knew it was to come.
