  • Dream sound ! Like It very much !

  • very good....my friend.....5 stars

  • Jeuj my dad has got one!

  • What did you use to gradually increase the amount of a distortion from a clean hammond sound in the beginning, and later too?

  • Sounds GREAT!

  • perfect sound, if i am making an album in the future with an organ player i would want to have that setup!

  • Dude, ,that is an incredible sound!!! Some of the negative comments I read on here are total bullshit! It should have been plugged into this, it should have been plugged into that ..blah blah blah......Some of these guys forget that a lot of Jon Lord's sound (and the sound of the rest of the guys in Deep Purple for that matter), is also influenced by other factors too.....the room, the engineers, the way things were mic'd, etc etc.

That was awesome to listen to and an amazing sound. Period

  • > P.S.: I'm a drummer!

    no excuses, please. :)

  • Ciao Gigi, sono Franco e possiedo un clone Hammond (Roland) il cui overdrive digitale non mi soddisfa. Puoi indicarmi (marca e modello) quale overdrive usi per ottenere questo sound? Grazie :-)

  • What a great tone! I've got my preamp overdriven with the gain/level set to a setting where it's starts breaking up around 3/4 pedal So that I can get most of the volume clean, and then push it that last little bit for overdrive, but it just doesn't break up gradually like I'd like it to. I like that yours has more amplitude range in which overdrives, like Jon Lord's.

  • A shame of the Hammond. Hammond does not sound as one. This sounds like a major failure in the amplifier or simply a short circuit.

  • @azjw68 Your comment sounds like a major failure of musical knowledge. Haven't heard any music recorded in the last 45 years? Too bad for you. That sounds just like the record. Pretty hard to beat. Solid playing, too.

  • @azjw68 prick

  • Very well done, my friend. You've done a great job capturing the sound!

  • that is awesome

  • Geez that sounds amazing.

  • Absolute knowledge and many a power of c3, you must be ungodly rich.

  • Absolute knowledge and many a power of c3

  • What is the name of that what are you playing?

  • sick man awesome C3

  • wHAT A sexy sound! amazing!

  • Highway star! Perfect Strangers! Space Truckin! Yeh! You rock man :)

    ciao!!

  • I dont like this : first : bad tempo from you,, second : you dont have to move the whole arm like that, you need swift movements of your wrist and hand, not whole arm. third: This is not the beast sound. did you plug your hammond into a rock guitar ampli? He got that sound like thta, i also get it from Steinberg Nuendo , linking an organ sound with an guitar amplificator effect. only that you get the REAL BEAST!! this is the normal hammond sound :)

And do some more practice !!!!

  • @Marius1988Roma i checked your vid, your "beast sound" is garbage. quit being a negative bitch. if you dont like his playing, to each his own, but at least hes rocking an actual hammond. Gigi, really enjoyed your vid, great tone.

  • @sonofshifter man, shus. He put the video online and he knows that he's going to meet other musicians. He can find beginners who say " jees you rock" and he can find people with experience that give him some suggestion. Internet is useful for this:advices and suggestions.Go read how Lord made his beast. If he writes Beast in the title,I say its not correct because the real " beast" is plugged into a guitar ampli with some gain. If he only wants good comments he should show this to parents only!

  • @sonofshifter

    He uses an "amplificator."

  • Hi, wonderful sound!! :D

May I ask you how you did it? I've got a Hammond C-3 and wanted to know what would be the best way to get the beast sound (and possibly overdrive and leslie together...) I mean, how should I connect all the stuff (leslie, overdrive...) to the console

  • great playing just wondering why do organs have to rows of keys?

  • @IMaiden89 I know this query is a year old, but nobody answered, so I will. Back when Organs were pipe organs, different keyboards triggered different sets of pipes. It allows for a much more multidimensional sound through the differences in tone and pitch between keyboards.

  • @VideoMask93 still thanks for the response

  • Great plying and tone!

  • bello bello bello : )

il C3 poi è l'organo perfetto per suonare The Beast!

    bravo! ; )

  • Bravo! Ottimo suono, bel tocco e brani hr stupendi...

  • grandissimo gigi!!! sei diventato bravissimo anche con l'hammond!!

  • It's not easy to obtain full distortion yet retaining a rich deep sound without overdriving the final stage of Leslie

    Well done.

  • Thanks so much!!

You're right! I've rebuilt the entire Fisher Spacexpander's circuit for reverb and I added a further gain stage with a 12ax7 that recreates the growl of a full power 147..so only turning a knob I can sound with a full distorted sound even with low volume..very useful!
