Need help....Just replaced my alternator with a new one. 12 v for 1999 sebring convertible 2.5 . After running the car for about 20mins. The red light is back on an now the alternator is not working. Killed the battery again. Please what might have caused this...TY
Most new batteries don't have removable vent caps. As for years of service, this is about four to five years unless you don't mind being stranded with a dead battery. The one in my work truck bit the dust friday at about 6 years. It's better to control the time of failure and replace it when it's not going to inconvenience you.
i have a 2002 honda civic ex and it wont start, i put the key and everything starts to flicker and then when i flip the key to start the car it dosent do anything, all the warning lights come on but when i press the break they all go of and flicker, and their is a clicking noise under the dash bored on passanger side, and the miles reset for a second, please someone me
@TrafficStarts im not a mechanic, but i had a honda that had that EXACT same problem, it was the starter for sure, it started right up after getting it fixed

@fahad2809 if your car has been sitting for a long time change your sprk plugs if the starter turns then your ok but igf motor wont start look at your cap n spark plugs.... also after new plugs put a little drops of petrol in the pace the spark plugs go then screw the plugs back in and fire it up see how u go?
shit! my '88 Honda Prelude still wont start after i replace the sparkplug cables, distributor, distributor cap and the little rotor, and finally the ignition coil!!! SHIT!!! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@2ub40 Have you checked if you have fuel going in? I mean your fuel pump of fuel pressure might be an issue or you might be looking at a sensor problem. To check the fuel pump without taking anything apart, turn the key on but not all the way where your starter would turn, listen see if you hear a humming sound coming form the rear of the car (that should be your fuel pump), the sound should stop after a few seconds. If you hear nothing your fuel pump might be shot.
@barbeau1981 I have an 88 jetta..ignition key switch failed so theres a button start installed. The car was fuel injection but modified to a carb. The starter is brand new..battery is new...the starter relay is mounted on the fender..now all i hear is strong clicking from the relay...but doesnt turn over...when it did in the past it would get hot cause the starter is a half an inch from the manifold..I would half to wait an hour before it cooled down..I installed a heat shield..but nothing.
Thank you very much for the tutorial. Your explanation is clear, concise and the video quality is excellent. It has been very helpful in diagnosing my starter problem. Keep up the great job. In these days of economical hardship, your effort is well appreciated.
