  • his head almost atmic bomb?

  • @ToruMiyano

That would be the agreeable atomic bomb :)

  • Seems like Billy changed keys. Beatles versions usually in E (before the key change) and it seems like Billy is in C, but this only after a quick first listening. Also no signature guitar lick which goes to show how a different take on a great song is a welcome change, Youtube videos on pad computer have made my mp3 player take a backseat. So many versions of so many great songs.

  • @verbenco I come to YT everyday and it's always for the music.

  • Does this remind anyone else of Christmas?

  • FANTASTICOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Where is that Billy Preston outta sight Afro?

  • Funkified! Sooooooooo good! Play it, Billy!

  • PLAY THAT B-HAMMOND BILLY!!!

  • Bravo!!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • Oh! What a beat, Mr. Preston!

  • hahah ese Billy Preston que bien esta esto haha ((°J°))

  • Im late to understanding the ....I was gonna say 'genius' of Billy but that word doesn't begin to express the awe Im in... or the joy I feel when I hear him. I can say that Im ashamed that I didnt know of him when he was alive. Billy Preston has changed me, musically, forever. RIP

  • I really want to see you.

  • Mr Billy Preston the fifth Beatle

  • @carlmonico Yes, the fifth Beatle. And RollingStone too (with all respect to both Ian Stewart and Nicky Hopkins) - they are jamming now alltogether

  • Soulful!!! Sweet!!! Amazing!!! Hare Krishna!!! Hallelujah!!!

  • Great cover of George's song!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @rbkpetroleo In fact George covered it

  • @solomomvandy Indeed, there has been much controversy over this song, firstable, the chords much like the Chiffons' "He's so Fine" and then that performed by Billy Preston in the early 70's.... anyway the version that I loved since I heard the late 70's was that of George!

  • Mr. Preston was very young here, excellent performance, what a voice he had!!!

Like I always say: afroamerican people are extremely talented in music!

Greetings and respects to them from Mexico!

Rest in peace Mr. Preston, you'll always be remembered

  • Hallelujah sweetest ever!

  • @MissisDiggiloo aamen.onko tää miun uus tunnari vai?no billy vaikuttaa aika ässältä.

  • sounds like hes so fine by the chiffons

  • Stunning!

  • What a brilliant arrangement of one of my all-time favourite songs!

  • now.. that's good music for my soul...

  • You know it Billy.

    See you soon buddy.

Thank you to whom ever posted this video. There isn't many as blessed as Billy!

    john

  • This is so cool. I guess George Harrison and Jose Feliciano play the guitar version of the song, and Billy plays the keyboard version. But it all came full circle. When Billy played it again in the Concert in Tribute of George Harrison, there was no version...It was just My Sweet Lord.

  • @jenesepais That is Billy -) he up for offer's ) like's danceing--Billy jam's with the STONES 78

  • ooohhhh, greaaaaaaaaat

  • Kinkyly GOOOD. Will make a tattoo with that & but HOW?? =D

  • great version. but how come the organ plays another song?

  • I believe he played this before George did. George gave Billy the song a year before he did it.

  • I think Billy's most memorable moment was on "Concert for bangledesh" when he performed "That's the way God planned it"...Man o man, God pumped him up on that one!! If you haven't seen it, it's on here on youtube. Put in the tiltle. God bless!

  • I prefer this version...just love that gospel touch and funky sort of chord stuff that Billy does.

  • wow!!! rock the f#@k out billy!

  • Harrison's song ... r u crazy?

Harrison stole the song. Had to pay big $. Neither George nor Billy wrote it.

Speaking of BP, has anyone posted "You're So Unique?" One of his best.

  • @clturneriii this song was written and released in 1970 from George Harrison's album "All Things Must Pass" That is a fact!

  • @clturneriii yes it was harrison's song. the suit in question was over the music. it was claimed that the music was the same from "he's so fine" by the chiffons. strong enough similarities exist in the two songs enough to say that george did indeed use the chiffons music. but the song is indeed george harrison's conceptually. kind of like "O' danny boy" and "amazing grace(shall always be y song of praise)".

  • Hallelujah!

  • Yeha SoulAgent!

  • People are saying, "Good as the original." This IS the original!!! Look it up. Billy recorded it before George!

  • @jasyreta Even if Preston recorded it before George Harrison, you can't take it away, that George wrote it.

  • @Powiean Of course! It's George's song and George singing it is amazing. But it says something about Billy and George's relationship with Billy that George would be willing to let his friend be the first to record such a masterpiece!

  • @jasyreta Billy wrote this song. Billy was the one who was a good enough friend to not call George out on it.

  • @Diomedes22 Dude, you're fucking crazy if you really think. I can't even think of how to express that in another way because it's denying self-evident facts.

  • @Jacksig1 *think that.

  • @jasyreta that's because George originally wrote this song for Billy Preston! If you want proof then search up on wikipedia my sweet lord and look under Writing and recording.

  • Nice but not as good as the original. Sorry!

  • ill probably get flak for this but I far prefer this version than the original

  • OK we are all in agreement terrybob is a IDIOT

  • hmm notice how he chanaged all of the are krishnas and just kept it halleluja jeeze i bet that ticked off quite a few people

  • wow. incredible version of this song.

  • even in this wonderful song, they had to throw one pagan haray krishna at the end, what a shame.

  • @Terrybob123 your an ass

  • @Terrybob123 Pagan? What the fuck? That Hindu asshole. And this was written by George Harrison, a devout Hindu.

  • @Terrybob123 you idiot!

  • haray krishna is Hindu.... Not Pagan..... George was Hindu which is why he through in multiple Hindu phrases and even parts of Hindu prayers.... The song was a praise to the Hindu God....

  • @TheLonersManual hindu is pagan. against Christ. get withe the true God... Lord Jesus Christ!

Parabens - SubTen R/1 Domingos

  • He has such a sweet voice, I thoroughly enjoyed this..

  • musical perfection

  • wow, what an excellent vocalist as well.

  • It's official Billy Preston is my musical hero! I could be having the shittiest day ever! and rolling around the corner he'd be there ♪♫NOTHING FROM NOTHING LEAVES NOTHING YOU GOTTA HAVE SOMETHING!!!♫♪

  • Man, Billy rocked. What a showman.

  • @NeilFraudstrong No showman. That's the music naturally flowing through him

  • clearly this song is edited in the end to remove Hare Krishna. Anyway this was written and sung by Great George Harrison and Billy does is singing great too.

  • Cowritten by them both and released by Preston first

  • great cover!

  • This isn't a cover

BILLY PRESTON INDEED DID THIS SONG, and then Harrison took it and made the much more well known version

  • @StreeTRacR008 its a cover

  • @StreeTRacR008 actually George wrote this song but yes Billy Preston's version was released shortly before All Things Must Pass

  • They co-wrote this song...and yes then Preston's version came out first

  • I still like Gorge Harrison's version better but tis is a great cover,And he did start with the beatles, at least I think

  • No, he started back in '58, he was in a movie already, he was a child prodigy

  • miss em both

  • God bless Billy and George. what lovely men gone away too soon.

  • Here, here to your sentiment.

    Mark Hellesto

  • Nice! I like the video squares. But this is no live performance. Most of the time I hear a piano, but see an organ. And the squares show different moments at one time. But that only by the way.

  • Wow what a fantastic voice!!

  • I just ran across this another version of this that has both George and Billy Preston's versions (Billy's is the second one @ 4:36, and WORTH WAITING TO HEAR!!) Look for it, its the "unreleased APPLE version"

  • From the 5th Beatle - Sing that song Billy!!! I like this version too!

  • That's the same "Nothing from Nothing" Billy Preston???

    Wow!

  • wish i could have seen this live

  • who is harry kresner? did he use to be a news anchor?

  • Thx springsteenguy and JohnStick22, people seem to forget (and yes I believe in free speech) that this is a MUSIC channel and is is about the inspiration behind the music and in this case Billy Preston's love and regard for one of George Harrisons' finest work, and this is here for people to enjoy, not be nasty about trivial crap like what I've just read. Hare Krishna! Godbless! Happy Birthday! Dope! "It puts the lotion in the basket"! St. Stephen with a rose, in and out of the garden he goes

  • love it

  • the beatles and billy preston had great connections and were both legendary musicans

  • I was hoping he was going to drop the references to Hare Krishna out. That's of course who this song was written to. Not Jesus,as many simple minded and naive folks seem to think.

  • Haha talk about simple minded and naive. Hare Krishna is in no way a being/god/person. It is a mantra chanted in hindu religion in attempts to gain closer knowledge of god...

  • You're both simple minded, Krishna is an incarnation of Vishnu and is regarded by many as the supreme Lord in Hindu religion, Hare can just be translated as "great" or exhaulted. If you read about the subject you'll find that Krishna is a being, a god and a person.. The Hare Krishna chanting is a mantra that is a form of worship. And technically, Hinduism has a deep respect for Jesus, they consider him an Avatar, or a devine saint.

  • well said sir.

  • Billy Preston was raised up going to church i`m sure the version of his song means well and i love the way he sings it,it`s very soulful!!!

  • if it was possible to have too much soul, billy did, cuz i never know what to listen to after him.

  • Awesome!

  • Great Billy!

    Great George!

    Rest both in Peace!

  • I"M just surprised cause i started looking for a picture of Clevelands new neighbour from the upcoming release of Cleveland's new show, The Cleveland Show and I ended up watching this performance of Billy Preston's "My Sweet Lord". - brought to you by FOX

  • Love this song

    Germany, Augsburg

  • Billy Preston ALWAYS knows how to shake up some vibrations!!

  • im an atheist myself, but showing passion in your faith with such a musical flow, is beautiful.

  • Great job, Billy Preston. RIP.

  • Does anybody know what show this was taken from? I think it might have been the "Larry Kane Show" (Houston Music Show) unless it is a promo clip that was aired on many shows. My version also clocks in at 2:10, but doesn't have the title superimposed over the video.

  • This is a Billy Preston original, george harrison did his own version later.

  • What?

  • This is incorrect. George wrote the song and it was for Billy Preston. This version, while absolutely fantastic, is not the original.

  • it is the original version in the sense that it was the first released

  • While this was the first version released, in 69, it was not written by Billy as allthegirls implied above. He said it was a "Billy Preston original" which is not the case.

  • yes this song is writen by George.

  • This was a great & soulful version!

  • I like how he puts some real soul into his version, like you might hear in a black church.

  • gorgeous and lovely man x

  • billy - you were the best ever. rip!

  • great song.billy did an awesome job on this song.he was so underrated.

R.I.P., Billy. you are still loved and missed.

  • this is good music baby!!

    the 5th beatle

  • Lovely!

  • HEY!

Number one: Billy Preston did "My Sweet Lord" before George Harrison.

And number two: ain't nobody gonna insult the great Billy Preston as long as I'm around, in particular not some prick who's going to soldier 'round trying to convert people with their readings of "John 14:6". At least the apparent 'PAGAN TRASH' doesn't run around insulting other religions to try to spread the 'good word' for their oh so very 'grand' lord!

  • i agree with you, GrandMaster... there should always be this big 'R' called Respect. cheers! and all hails! :-)

  • stop shoving religious thinking down other people's throats. let Christians RESPECT Pagans and vice-versa... LET THERE BE PEACE, so stop the Thumping.

  • Now, there's something I could really say "Amen" to!

  • Right!?!?!!

    Hare Krsna!

  • Wow... isn't being so filled with hatred and intolerance towards another person and their faith a bit 'unchristian' of you? Grow the fuck up and welcome to the World, where not everybody is as radically anti-difference as you are. Enjoy this damn music for what it is: brilliant and brilliantly played

  • 100% true

I'm a convicted atheist, and I absolutely LOVE this song!

  • @DJSAustin Amen! Praise the Lord!

  • Hey this is great Billy played this version on King Curtis' "Live at Fillmore West". what a great tune

  • thanks alot...the version @ the concert for george is gone....thanks for this one!!

  • I love the way you expect it to remove the referrence to Krishna and then inbetween the ''hallelujahs'' you hear ''Hare Krishna''.

  • I'm sorry, do I know you? My comment was perfectly valid.

  • great song, but it really blows he's playing a B3 while i'm hearing a piano

  • Thanxalot for posting. Don´t you have the full version without that interruptus space down at the end??? would be wonderful!

  • I was about to put this up..I couldn't find it at first but this is great t4p

  • This keeps disappearing!

I'm so glad it's up again...

    Thanks.

  • This song always brings a tear to my eye.

  • me too...

  • Yes this is back up! Used to be up a few months ago, but then it disappeared! GREAT UPLOAD!

  • Amazing vid. Perfection!
