  • Definitely not a fake. I've done this with this digital camera also. You just have to learn how to set it up so it doesn't wash the moon out.

  • Beautiful!

  • when i video mode at my lumix dmc-fz28 i can't zoom in in the moment of the video ..pls somedbody answer why or how i can make it.

  • @ThePAWELSTASIAK it must be 48x

  • I have the same camera and I am a video expert and I can certainly say that this is FAKE!

  • @ALPHADESIGNTAMPICO

    Sorry, no fake!

  • @ALPHADESIGNTAMPICO This is not a fake... ¿are you a video expert? xD

  • @ALPHADESIGNTAMPICO this is not Fake., it combined all of zoom function

  • Fake and FAIL!

  • that is posible ? with this camera ?

  • @DarKRid3R21 If you combine digital with optical zoom it's possible :)

But hey it's digital zoom, just a crop of the middle of the sensor, but it's nice :)

  • still haven't seen a man up there yet (;,,;)

  • What is the point of a test of a HD cam if you only upload a low res image.

Digital zoom is crap but hidden in this test by the low res upload.

    Just another deceptive cunt.,

  • Can this camera shoot laser beams, too?

  • omg, my grandmum waved to me from the moon!

  • Nice place dude.

  • i did the samething 2.

  • I have the Lumix DMC-FZ100 with longer zoom, actually 24x optical zoom and Full HD recording....and it has a hot shoe that you can attach flash or external microphone for better sound

  • me too i have one but when i check the zoom with the moon i didnt take same this video.

and i want to ask you CAN I ADD THE LENS OR ANY ACCESOIRES TO MY CAMERA??

  • i had this cam before and not switched to DSLR.

  • Awesome

  • impressive zoom, btw if anyone can help me with my camera problem it would be very appreciated, the video is on my channel

  • wow, it was like you zoomed out of the atmosphere! :D

  • my sony dcr-sr47 can almost do better than that

  • @MrAbdulmaster this is a camera, yours is DV, there is no surprise if yours can do better, but this cam is already impressive.

  • Incredible, Whats the name of the song?

  • não acredito!! só pode ser mentira...

  • hardcore-zoom!

  • Me also, tested "Moon-Zoom" often, but it`s just a light ball. Do you have a special lense for the FZ28? I thought about buying an optical lense (correct lense-name is somewhere on paper written), but didn`t get enough informations `til now.

Do someone know how to make good night / macro photos with the FZ28?

  • I am spell bounded what this little camera can do. Wish you had used a tripod!

  • Splendid video good music. Greetings.

  • Nice. Greetings.

  • sweet camera

  • The microphone on this camera records horribly muddy and muffled sound even from 2 feet away from the lens. I quite frankly have never seen (or heard) a more horrible mic on ANY camera.

  • That's why it's for taking pictures numb nuts.

  • Odd, mine doesn't. I'm going to be uploading some more video tomorrow. But mine clearly picked up what was shouted at me from half way across a corn field. The sound is mono, but mine is still crisp and clear.

  • nice , do you used any converter with telescope or lornette ??

  • this is a really good slr, its highly recommended.

  • Its not an slr. The lens is fixed and cant be removed.

  • Get the Fz35/38!

  • does anyone recommend this camera for filming concerts and things? as im looking for with great zoom/quality and the sound is clear and not dissorted from the bass and things?

  • @xemzibbyx no! it's crap for recording at concerts. That's the only reason I bought this camera, and I wasn't to know that the mic on the camera would be so rubbish. you can hardly hear anything at concerts when recording with this camera.. however the picture is amazing. I'm trying to look for an attachable mic so it'll make it better but have had no luck so far.

  • I think Optical Zoom stopped at 11 seconds.

  • 'kin hell!

  • this is unreal how good the zoom is , do u think this is a good camera for beginners

  • yes it is!

  • This is amazing mate.

I've got one like this and i am really upset after seeing this video.

The thing is that its zoom is 18x which enables me to take pictures of stuff few meters away of me perfectly, but of the MOON, no way.

I have tried many times and it just cant catch the moon.

Plz, plz, can you tell me how u did this?

What was the setting that enabled u to capture the moon in this brilliant way?

    thank u in advance

  • I think he has the digital zoom active which brings him from 18x to 72x personally I don't use digital zoom since thats basically in camera cropping and not actual magnification.

  • Yes but digital zoom is still better than just zooming in on the picture after you've taken it, as the camera tries to enhance the picture e.g. anti-aliasing, to try and make up for the cropping. Usually to good affect

  • when the cam's in full zoom ,it feels like we're in outer space...awesome vid buddy.

  • Best video thus far on the moon.

  • howthe fuck did a test camera video get 50,000 views lol

  • I have no idea but god damn I want one now.

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomg! O_O

  • i have this camera but i can never ge detail on the moon, its just a bright light on the camera. could anyone tell me what i could do?

  • You must use spot metering mode.

  • thanks, what does it do?

  • Go into manual mode and pick an apeture of around f8 then experement with the shutter speed to see which value suits the moon phase and brightness the best . For example I find that on a clear fullmoon I find the 1250 on my nikon is around right but obviously as the moon goes through its phases it becomes less brigt so will need less exposure time so a lower shutter value is needed meaning more exposure to the light . Try all metering systems to see which one suits best . Experimenting is key .

  • thanks! I must check this on my camera Fz38

  • @peavyteborge Thanks for that :)

  • @peavyteborge. Use spot metering, use at least 300 ~ 400 shutter speed, f/7, and use ISO 100. You have to use tripod to get a good focused picture. Let me know how that came out at akhan @ aed . org (no spaces).

  • @socks747 I went from blurry bright blob to good detail, buy adjusting shutter speed. But I don't have this camera.

  • @socks747 It's your settings brother...select aperture mode (A) around 5.6, ISO 200-400. If you're getting a bright blob, you're letting too much light into the camera...let less light in by reducing your aperture. Search Google for FZ28 settings moon.

  • @socks747 try putting a filter on the lense :)

  • @socks747 Use manual exposure, turn exposure down.

  • Moon is the Highlight.. But I was impressed by the part of earth where this shots been taken

  • The shot is taken in the Olympic Stadion in Lillehammer, Norway. (Winter Olympic 1994)

  • 18x right? nice...

  • this is unreal..i didint know you can zoom to that far...and see moon in 'detail'. WOW! very impressive! long live zoom!

  • It`s not fake!I have this camera!

  • Surely, this is fake?

  • no way

  • Sarcasm?

  • not really, no

  • I have the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 also...and "YES" this is possible with this camera. I took some moon pictures myself and my friends were amazed!!!Truly one of the best camera's out there!

  • extremely cool!

  • impossible :)

  • yeah its like my canion sx1 IS ! when i snap pics on the highest quality you can actually see footsteps lol

  • It is 18x Optical and then 4x Digital, no way this is fake.

Google Fz28 Moon shots, some use the TCON-17 - check out the detail on FZ28 + TCON-17 moon shots compared to this. They make this video look very average.

Even the FZ18 can take pretty good moon shots, but if you are using the wrong settings on the camera.. Then epic fail I guess..

  • mines 42 opticale and goe sup to 2000 digi on my camera

  • Sorry, but this is no fake, i used FZ28 with digital zoom at the last part. The camera was standing on the roof of my car.

  • @peavyteborge

     this is only digital zoom

    if got the camera

  • @weetsie Believe what you want but I have this camera and have taken plenty of shots of moon craters with it from the garden. It has an 18X optical zoom and if using the digital zoom with it (the last part of the film) it can go up to 140X zoom (0.3mpx) when using the camera on 12mpx the digital zoom still does 72X zoom. So I guess now is the time when I say

    Ne ne nene ne XP

  • @weetsie

    Put on your digital-zoom and you'll see that 72x (18optical * 4digital) zoom is very much :)

  • thats wayy more then 18x..did u use tele convertion lens or digital? still seems unlikely

  • Digital zoom!

  • Nice

  • i bought new s8000fd for 500pln, and i cant zoom on recording :(, here have picture of moon from s8000fd i shoot from hand :P

  • I guess Panasonic DMZ-FZ series doesn't offer zoom video recording. I have the older Panasonic DMC-FZ7 with 12x optical zoom, and same thing, I can only zoom when I take photos or prior to recording videos.

If Panasonic allow zoom video recording, then the DMC-FZ series might be among the best zoom digital camcorder in the market.

  • You can zoom while video recording with the FZ28.

  • I have this camera of course you can zoom while recording and seta also the camera to autofocus while zoomingg but it is slow focusing, never tryed this I don't activate never digital, I will try but it seems a little too good to be true

  • I run out the window and tryed... Jeeee it works!!! Even without the tripod I'm downloading a little shot made now.

  • did you use a tripod? or hand held, or on somthing?

  • what is the title of that song?

  • I don't understand why u call it fake. I have an pre-model than this; FZ18. On Filming mode, mine is just fixed with both focus and zoom. Great pity!!! Still, I can imagine that it's possible when I play with 18*opt & 4*digi zoom, which is the same as this one.

  • i have the same camera dude and can seem to do that. is there a button i need to select to turn the extra zoom on?

  • You go on the options and just turn the digital zoom on :\

    It's that easy.

  • I do not know how to do this so that the camera still. Impressive!

    5 *****!

  • WHOA !

  • i own this and tried...... but it has only 18x.... so covers only 18 times closer... any way to MOD for a digital zoom or how u made it plz reply

  • thats wild..

  • not sure why my earlier comment was removed! I could not believe that this is real!

    buying this camera!

  • Owner of the video - is this fake?

  • that is impressive

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!

  • 16:9 video capture with 18x optical zoom control is very impressive. youve even managed to use its optional digital zoom for additional extra reach.whoa.

im not sure if canon p&s can zoom while using the video. i gues not.

    kudos to panasonic "-)

  • wow you can see the american flag:D

  • lol. you wrote that on my video of the moon also....

  • yeah its true...look more closlier :P

chek out my macro shots with the fz28 :)

  • @tehraztor Funny!! If you want to see the American Flag, you might want to open a Movie Hanger in a Hollywood Studio Lot, that's all ive got to say about that.

  • @tehraztor where? where??? i can't see???

  • I buy it.

  • wooooow nice n clear

  • i guess your problem has half a solution, first, you wanna make sure that the image won't be grainy that you set the iso to 400 or less, otherwise the image has very noticeable grain, as the lower the iso, the better, but be aware that when the scene you picture is darker, you'll need a bigger iso so the image won't be blurry unless you use a stand for the camera. hope i helped,

    moshe

  • I think this zoom, my fascination for the moon, clear skies in Panama and this video, have just convinced me.

    THANK YOU!

  • is this for real ????????????????????

  • super camera !

  • This is the best camera i have ever owned. Youre right, spot metering is the best setting when filming the moon. Do you have Vista? Save all your photos/videos on Windows Movie Maker. Save in HD and upload to YouTube. You wont believe the quality.

  • Thanks for good tips!

  • Did you use a tripod or was it kept still like this using the built in stabilizer?

  • I hold it at the roof of my car using built in stabilizer.

  • That would this camera with one of the best stabilizers of all cameras.

The only downside I'm seeing is that the photo chip inside is very small possibly creating noise at low light, and focus issues during zooming.

How do you find the low light performance, taking pictures inside with the flash off. There *IS* a way to suppress the flash isn't there?

  • With low light and no flash you can use high iso, but it will be a lot of noise.

  • Nice zoom my god!

  • Excellent video.. Did you use an additional external zoom or it just was optical (18X) + Digital (?X) ??

    Regards

  • No, just the zoom on camera, 18x optical + digital.

  • what settings on the camera did you use to get this so clear? :)

  • I used spot metering mode, no other special settings.

  • Thanks..

  • Don't know if i missed it, but was this on a tripod or handheld? Cheers.

  • It was on the roof of my car, to much shaking on full zoom if handheld. (It was to cold).

  • cool, cheers. very good quality video this camera takes. for the price its a real bargain.

  • incredible zoom test, thanks for this video

  • nice one great camera!

  • u use digital zoom , right?

  • Yes, the last step is digital.

  • Thanks for sharing this. I am going to get a FZ28 in the new year and this has helped show its capabilities. That x18 zoom is going to be great.
