There is no proof that Gagarin was in space. No photos, no videos, no audio. Nothing. Only the statement of the Soviet news agency, Tass. The man who was really launched on that day died, and Gagarin was parachuted from a plane. He has not landed inside the capsule.

That video, with Gagarin climbing on the stiars, was shot AFTER the flight. It was admitted by the Russians. Gagarin was a simple actor. He has not even made a picture of Earth when he allegedly was in space.

Both Gagarin and Armstrong are legends. I guess the reason why Armstrong is covered better in your and other schools is because he went on a much longer journey. Both journeys were absolutely important in their own ways though.

Gagarin showed us humans can venture into space, and Armstrong & crew showed us we can land on other worlds and come back again. In the future of course we will go even further away... thanks to pioneers such as Gagarin and Armstrong.

Gagarin has never been honoured properly in Norway in my oppinion. I'm still in school, and whenever we read about space and stuff Gagarin is shortlu mentioned in the books, then we have to drown on and on for several pages about that Armstrong dude.
