Great list! Rayman's visuals do look very good, and it's nice to see more 2D hand drawn games released, that are not just downloadables I might add. Other hand drawn side scrollers (that look fantastic) this gen are A Boy and His Blob, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade. The visuals in those are breath taking.

@AmarMah Dude, Rayman Origins is just as good as Skyward Sword to be honest. Yeah they're not really comparable due to them being in different genre's, but Rayman Origins is a damn good game that deserves every single drop of praise it gets.

@AmarMah It doesn't matter what system it's on. I probably would have put SS in the top 3 myself but you have to consider that platformers are Pete's FAVORITE genre of game, and Rayman Origin's is probably the best 2D one since 2009's New Super Mario Bros Wii.

At the end of the day it's all just opinion. Pete just didn't like SS that much so he just didn't put it on there. It has nothing to do with what system it's on, he just didn't like it as much as everyone else.

First I would like to say that I love this list Pete, you talked about many great games from last year.

Also to all of the people complaining about him not putting Zelda or Batman or some other mainstream game, that is because he hasn't bought them yet. If any of you people complaining listened to AllGenGamers (the podcast Pete is on), you would know that he has not bought those games yet. Also, you can't seriously expect him to buy every great game of the year, just appreciate the list.

I never played and elder scroll games except the demo for oblivion and I have to say skyrim is my #1 game followed closely by demons souls and dark souls as my top three favs of all time

I know you have lots of games you still haven't played, but to miss 2 out the big 3 games that came out last year (Arkham City, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted3) is unacceptable if you're reviewing games as a pastime. I disagree on el shaddai. I love it for the art design and platforming ONLY. The story was non-existent. It was a confusing mess of metrosexuals mad at other metrosexuals mad at humans. The visuals are the only distinction here from other games, but the story & the characters were so terrible I had to force myself to finish the game. El Shaddai wasn't what I was expecting. Instead of a fun Okami experience I got some metrosexual existentialism crap. It's on my top 10 disappointing games of 2011.

Not related to this video but I watched a vid of yours recently and saw you talk about the Virtual Boy. I bought four games recently. Unboxed Galactic Pinball, Verticle Force Boxed, Verticle Force Boxed Import, and Mario Tennis Import Boxed. @ScubaDiverPicker I know I'm not Pete, but I can say that just a boxed copy of the U.S. release of Vertical Force would be over $25, so your $11 for all of them is pretty good. Mario tennis and the import version are not really rare and can be found for under $20, but you still got a great deal.

Great list, very unique, as expected! My favorite games this year were Radiant Historia and Skyrim. I guess Skyward Sword would be up there too since Zelda is my favorite game series, but that was very underwhelming and I'm too surprised its not on Pete's list, whether he played it yet or not.
