Hi im pretty sure mine has water damage cause a water bottle broke open in a bag with my iphone and i went and bought a whole new screen replaced the screen and it turns on and everything works except it wont react to touch and i cant unlock it or anything and ive rebooted it several times and its the same thing every time. so do you have any idea whats broken with it?

@overther166 Sounds like you need to clean corrosion off the digitizer portion of the motherboard. If there is no corrosion, you may have purchased a defective front assembly.

Hey my iphone has water damage and the sound still works as in if some one calls it it will ring but there is no picture in the screen at all. Any remondations? Really need help!!!!

@drmmr456 You need to order a new front assembly for it. Also check the connectors for corrosion and remove it.

dropped mine in the washing machine too and i left it in some rice to dry for a couple days and i plugged it in to charge and the apple logo went on and it went into recovery mode but it when i try togive it a system recover it wont work.. i know the screen and the battery works so got any tips for me?

Ok so I took my iPhone 4 to the store after water damage from rain.. They couldn't fix it and said that the backlight will not work and said it would take 200 dollars to fix...Is there a better way? Please help

My iPhone went into washing machine last week. I watched the video steps by steps to take it apart, and I didn't find any corrosion! After reassembly it back I charge the phone and no luck the phone will only have backlight come out and the scree is blank!! What should I do next?!? Did I do anything wrong?

@OGsang Sorry for the late response. Does it connect to itunes? You may need to replace the battery and the screen. Sometimes there are iPhones that we are just not able to fix. You can always send it our way and we can take a look at it.

according to this video, you can only fix the iphone if it has water or beer damage... sorry people who spilled soda or juice on your iphone :)

How can you tell if there is water damage? Are there specific signs?

The most common signs are corrosion on the motherboard from where the water entered from. Most common areas are by the headphone jack, where the sim card tray inserts, and on the bottom where you plug in the iPhone. We have had a few clients attempt this repair an not be able to find the corrosion so they send the iPhone to us and we almost always find the problem area. Sometimes it is hard to see because the parts are so small. If you jump to video 5 we show you what it looks like

hey Tech!, man love your tutorial. I did everything to the T! and it worked great. until 5 minutes after the iphone was turned on and "looked to be working perfectly" weird lines of different colors came up on the screen then shut off. i restarted the phone and it came on like it should. i left it alone on the charger (imac) with it saying 3% battery life. my mac happened to turn off during the night and i woke up to the phone being dead. now its back to how it was like when damage. im lost now.
