  • Paul became the back up session drummer to Uriel Jones after Benny Benjamin's death in 1969 .

  • That's a great track! Paul Humphrey was also a big time L.A. studio drummer. I think that he played on both Joe Cocker's "Feelin' Alright" and Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were".

  • @bluenazz He was also a studio drummer for Motown. If I recall, he played the drums for many of the songs by the Four Tops. I know for certain was the featured drummer on the Four Tops hit album, Keeper of The Castle. I actually met Paul several times as his wife Joan was a very good friend of my neighbor that lived directly across the street from me in L.A. near Baldwin Hills, and he used to pull up in a white Pantera and jump out in a fly snake skin jump suit wearing shades! He was so cool!

  • @Sandra57206 That's a funny one about Paul Humphrey. I think that a lot more Motown stuff was recorded in L.A. than what people realize!
