@66khristien66 Hiromi reminds me of young STANLEY CLARKE from our streets of PHILADELPHIA, PA during the early 1960's and 1970's. He's still has that drive, attack, approach , upright bass & bass guitar attacks like no other B4 now after him. We had the pleasure of watching THE STANLEY CLARKE BAND performances.. she killed it yes( you expect pianists guitarists to) BUT he did it on 1 string and sometimes 4 strings when Stan really KILLED IT,still the best bassist since the world 1st heard him.
Stanley Clarke's arrangement of his mentor and good friend's classical hit CHARLIE MINGUS - "GOODBYE PORKPIE HAT....check out the Alblum/CD credits who Stanley dedicated this song to...lol I'm sure you've heard of all 3 of them...
That was a truly fantastic show! I spoke to Hiromi for a minute or two before the show- nice person, very polite and taller than she looks! I asked if there would be a DVD from this tour but she said there wouldn't be. Met Stanley and the other two later, all nice people. I'd already known that Stanley, Hiromi and Ronald Bruner jr. were amazing musicians, so the real surprise was Ruslan Sirota! If you haven't heard Stanley's new album (featuring the same band), you should, it's great!
@zimmoframen I'm sorry dude, but Stanley wasn't too accomodating when it came to naming the songs that he played at this concert. I will ask some of my friends who are more familiar with Stanley's body of work if they can tell me the name of the song. If they can, I'll repost it!

The volume of piano is too small. And, it of base is too large. I want to listen Hiromi's brilliant play more clearly. Hiromi is so great!!

Sorry dude, but I shot this video with Stanley in mind. As far as Hiromi's play, I think that you can hear her very clearly. I can.
