  • My favorite feature is the fact that because of the composite construction, they can add humidity to the cabin air. Flying always dries out my nasal passages and makes me thirsty.

  • it looks like a 767 equipped with a really oversized engine. It looks funny. So is this plane banking on speed rather than capacity?

  • @bluevlocity407 its banking on efficiency, ease of flight, and length of servicibility, there are numerous ideas and factors that set this plane apart, just all in all revolutionary, takes off dec 15th

  • Great engine noise as usual , Rolls Royce Trents !

  • sorry to whoever made that last comment i accidentally removed it, but word is the first 787 is supposed to fly by the end of december, dont know a date

  • They're aiming for a few days before Christmas, early present for all of us!

  • now they're aiming for Dec. 14

  • yeah its changing everyday now

  • Theres Multiple 787's, this is the one there doing all the testing with though. I've seen a few others sitting around there.

  • there are six 787's that will be doing testing and they have already begun putting the production ones together as well. this is line number 1

  • @daveaboyac The sixth 787 have been rolled out lately.

  • Sound a little bit like B777 with GE90s.

  • is that seattle?

  • Paine Field (Snohomish County Airport) in Everett. About 25 miles north of Seattle.

  • is there a BA 787 in the background?

  • I do not think so. I believe only 1 other 787 has been built and I think it is going to All Nippon Airways.

  • it wanted to fly....i wish they just pulled back on the yoke a couple of degrees :(

  • wats with the van?

  • Anyone notice how the plane looks really smooth with the Boeing House Livery, but when it's painted in a normal livery like ANA's it looks pretty... conventional? The average air traveler won't be noticing much of a difference. Too bad they took the shark-tail design out to cut costs.

  • Yeap, it's because in the Boeing livery the blue paint on the nose is angled up.

  • How temping would it be too just pull back on the yoke

  • There's actually a video where the nose lifts 2 feet off of the ground, they were doing "high speed" taxi tests... haha.

  • Very tempting. I'd be thinking the whole time, "Rotate. Just rotate it. Just this once?" XD

  • considering the 350 doesnt exist yet makes this a stupid comparo statement

  • Okay, how is the A350 better? If you're just going to say something like that, provide some justification.

  • Plane looks great and cant wait to see Thomson Airways livery but are we seeing a resemblance here. I mean the B787 and A380 look all like embraers. They all have the slopy nose (LOL) Typically the 170-195 family to be exact . Basically, to me the A380 is like a "Jumbo" embraer, the B787 a medim embraer and then the Embraer (E-jets) like the "little" babies. JUst an observation LOL

  • yeah thats a good one but i worked on the 135-145's so to me that is the look an enbraer looks like but i do see what you mean now

  • She's beautiful :O

  • What a beautiful plane. Looking forward to see it in LOT livery! ^^ Greetings from Poland.

  • shes very quiet from this video

  • that is so beautiful

  • thsoe are ge eingines right?

  • no as of right now there are no GENx engines installed on any 787 at least as of aug 21, the ones on line 1 in this video are the RR

  • ok thx when should it finnaly takeoff

  • rumors in the media were late november early december

  • there it is

  • if i'm not mistaken those engines are rolls-royce

  • they are, It's Rolls Royce Trent 1000

  • When will be the first flight for the 787 ?

  • Boeing doesn't have the government financing the 787.

  • TBH, I am hardcore Airbus but I hate the A350. Its ugly. The 787 has me..

  • me too

  • I don't know if I could have resisted Spruce-Goosing it for a few feet above the ground there had I been at the helm.

  • Boeing makes good commercial jet.. unlike other aviation company

  • those engines sounds like a GE-90

  • does anyone know when they will actually take to the skies?

  • hopefully by the end of the year. key word "hopefully"

  • lol yeah thanks

  • For me it could never replace boeing 777....

    Love this plane...

  • Sorry but I think that the 787 is an ameliorate version of the 777... :D

  • The Dream is now a reality :p

Love this plane... What if the captain trottles it up and never stop and fly... Just fly weeeee........

  • He will get into a lot of trouble.

  • I love the engine sound towards the end. It's so characteristic!

  • I can't wait to see her In LOT colours !

  • Don't forget AeroMexico colours...xD

  • lookin good!

  • that cessna could have eaisly been distracted by the awesomeness of seeing a 787 on the runway u just landed on lol

  • I'll admit, i've always been a little pro-airbus b/c boeing was always so dominant & the Yanks were always lording it over the europeans since all their other attempts at the large commercial sector had gone bust. That said I'm an aviation enthusiast & this gives me goose pimples, I can't wait to see it fly!

  • cool the 787

  • The 777 is a bridge between a 767 to a 747.

Is the 787 a replacement or a bridge or just a new cool plane?

(Sorry I'm just not up with the play :)

  • i dont know about the bridge really but the 787 is radically different aircraft accross the board. its lighter, quieter and will allow passengers to feel more comfortable flying once it actually makes it airborn

  • I think it is to be Boeings nect generation series Aircraft to compete with Airbus A330 and A350

  • Replacement 767. Although its a little bit larger and has a much more range.

  • The 787 is the official replacement for the 767. Extremely advanced though.

  • oh sweet.

    Goodbye 767 then haha.

Gona be mad watching this take to the air the 1st time!!

  • -787-8 is a 767-200ER &300ER replacement on longer routes without larger planes.

-787-3 is a A300,A310,757-300 & 767-200 on regional routes to airports with restricted gate space.

    -787-9 is a A330 & 767-400ER replacement and opening new non-stop routes with more cargo but less passengers than 777-200ER & A340-500/600

    Hope I helped!

  • yeah and the -3 will have a traditional looking winglet as opposed to the raked wingtips this one the -8 has

  • Yah and it looks really cool, and better than A350!

  • The 787 is supposed to be the 767 replacement. :)

  • Is it? Or is it the replacement for the 777?

  • No, 767. The 767 is too big for this. Also, the 777 can probably last for another 10 years and not have a problem. Though, it would be nice for Boeing to make like a 777-700 or -800 to compete with Airbus' A350

  • It will replace mid sized aircraft, like the 767, 757, and 777, depending on which variant of the 787 is used.

  • Can't wait to see it take to the skies,,,really make sure your'e there!!!

  • Thanks for sharing with us!

  • the trent 1000 at that angle sounded like a ge-90. amazing 5/5!

  • I think I got a boner at about 3:08. Amazing video.

  • Right there you are just wishing that the captain throttles them up all the way and off into the air she goes.

  • Stage 4 engines at its best

  • It looks so small.

  • Excelent image, Anoying sound that the wind makes....Nice plane, though. Thanks for sharing !

  • Thats one hell of a sexy machine!

  • Dude, make sure your there for the first flight, I want to see it.. Keep up the good work.

  • good to see! i hope they get the wingbox issues sorted
