My favorite feature is the fact that because of the composite construction, they can add humidity to the cabin air. Flying always dries out my nasal passages and makes me thirsty.
@bluevlocity407 its banking on efficiency, ease of flight, and length of servicibility, there are numerous ideas and factors that set this plane apart, just all in all revolutionary, takes off dec 15th
sorry to whoever made that last comment i accidentally removed it, but word is the first 787 is supposed to fly by the end of december, dont know a date
Anyone notice how the plane looks really smooth with the Boeing House Livery, but when it's painted in a normal livery like ANA's it looks pretty... conventional? The average air traveler won't be noticing much of a difference. Too bad they took the shark-tail design out to cut costs.
Plane looks great and cant wait to see Thomson Airways livery but are we seeing a resemblance here. I mean the B787 and A380 look all like embraers. They all have the slopy nose (LOL) Typically the 170-195 family to be exact . Basically, to me the A380 is like a "Jumbo" embraer, the B787 a medim embraer and then the Embraer (E-jets) like the "little" babies. JUst an observation LOL
I'll admit, i've always been a little pro-airbus b/c boeing was always so dominant & the Yanks were always lording it over the europeans since all their other attempts at the large commercial sector had gone bust. That said I'm an aviation enthusiast & this gives me goose pimples, I can't wait to see it fly!
i dont know about the bridge really but the 787 is radically different aircraft accross the board. its lighter, quieter and will allow passengers to feel more comfortable flying once it actually makes it airborn
No, 767. The 767 is too big for this. Also, the 777 can probably last for another 10 years and not have a problem. Though, it would be nice for Boeing to make like a 777-700 or -800 to compete with Airbus' A350

it looks like a 767 equipped with a really oversized engine. It looks funny. So is this plane banking on speed rather than capacity?

is there a BA 787 in the background?
switchkid54321 2 years ago
I do not think so. I believe only 1 other 787 has been built and I think it is going to All Nippon Airways.

Yeap, it's because in the Boeing livery the blue paint on the nose is angled up.
f15x28isback 2 years ago
How temping would it be too just pull back on the yoke
albertonex19 2 years ago
There's actually a video where the nose lifts 2 feet off of the ground, they were doing "high speed" taxi tests... haha.

Very tempting. I'd be thinking the whole time, "Rotate. Just rotate it. Just this once?" XD

considering the 350 doesnt exist yet makes this a stupid comparo statement

Okay, how is the A350 better? If you're just going to say something like that, provide some justification.

The 777 is a bridge between a 767 to a 747.
Is the 787 a replacement or a bridge or just a new cool plane?
(Sorry I'm just not up with the play :)

I think it is to be Boeings nect generation series Aircraft to compete with Airbus A330 and A350
vicarexar 2 years ago
Replacement 767. Although its a little bit larger and has a much more range.
mhouser13 2 years ago
The 787 is the official replacement for the 767. Extremely advanced though.

Goodbye 767 then haha.
Gona be mad watching this take to the air the 1st time!!
cezza57 2 years ago
-787-8 is a 767-200ER &300ER replacement on longer routes without larger planes.
-787-3 is a A300,A310,757-300 & 767-200 on regional routes to airports with restricted gate space.
-787-9 is a A330 & 767-400ER replacement and opening new non-stop routes with more cargo but less passengers than 777-200ER & A340-500/600
Hope I helped!

It will replace mid sized aircraft, like the 767, 757, and 777, depending on which variant of the 787 is used.
