The process is pretty simple. Use a q-tip to put small dots of mustard and ketchup all over the blade and let it sit for a while. After waiting a bit wash it off and repeat until the colour looks good.
I have a link with a picture I can send you but I can't right now because you have friend lock on and it won't let me send you a pm. If you want, add me as a friend and I can send it to you then. Or maybe try sending me a pm.
that is siickk! i know u say in the video that u use kechup (catsup) and mustard with a q tip, but is there any way u could share with me the technique on how u apply it? I would very much appreciate it. damn sexy blade lol
ugh, now i am upset that i got a nikon d3000 when i could have gotten a pentax k-7... lol. i mean i bet the pictures are the same, but not only do u have video, but it's beautiful too!
Something bugs me about this knife. I really wanna buy it, but i dislike any slight recurveness an edge might have. Can you do a test for me please? Or even film it? By pictures i can't tell if this blade is a little bit recurve when it comes close to the handle i'm afraid it is. Just place the EDGE on a ftat surface and check to see if any light passes thru. Hopefully you got what i meant :D
I have a Fox River Mini with Maple Burl that would look awesome with that pattern.
So, I'm also curious about the technique you used to apply the ketchup and mustard. I am curious about density and pattern.
Did you smear a lot on? Was the entire blade covered in either one or the other? Or did you leave open spots? What kind of pattern was used.
A picture with the products applied would be awesome. Or a drawing approximation.
Thanks,
Don in Idaho

Does doing that to the blade void the warranty?

@RatifiedCow
Not on a Bark River but I don't know about other manufactures.

Is that knife made of A2 steel, and how hard is it to sharpen?
Tegulicious 1 year ago
@Tegulicious
Yes, it is A2. I have no problems sharpening any of my A2 knives. If you check out my other videos, there is one of me sharpening this knife.

I'm mostly a photographer but the video is nice to have. The K-7 is around the D300s level.

that is the best pattern i have seen.

Thanks, I really like it too.

That patina does look kool :o)

The best part is that it covers up the ugly stains the blade got from being in a wet sheath while hunting.

That finish is sweeeeet. Well done.

The knife has a factory full convex grind so it has a curve to the blade.

pickurn 2 years ago
