Yeah don't see the Americans making any good cars, we have cars that suit out needs here in Australia then we have taken them and put a 6.2ltr Supercharged V8 in them. Thats how we do it, You get a normal holden or you get a V8 one simple.
After going to work near a construction site for almost a year now, i've noticed that almost everyone owns an SS or SV6 ute. The are even a few Maloo's among them.
As for those that want a Maloo. In Oz, atleast. Do what I did.
Save yourself 25-30k, buy a 2011 Series 2 VE SS Ute, get an exhaust, cam, CAI & a tune & you'll belt 10 bells of shit out of anything that HSV has in its stable.
After all that, you've get a better looking ute that you can see out the back of & still have atleast 5-10k left in your pocket.
Plus your insurance is cheaper. Say SS to an insurance company & then say HSV. Watch the premiums rise like fuel costs.
To clarify a few things. The Audi they tested is the closest comparison to the VXR8, due to price & performance & what it offers. Anyone who thinks a standard HSV, albeit supercharged, would compete against the top end Audi is kidding themselves.
As for anyone who thinks The Maloo is an HSV, not a Holden. Remember what the 'H' in HSV stands for.
For the Ford fans. Ford Australia operates the same way as Holden. You answer to Ford in the states the same way Holden answers to GM.
