This was a prototype. Since then I built up the circuit to include the other street and a pedestrian light sequence. This used up a lot more breadboard. I have a video clip of the finished circuit which I shall post soon.
The finished project used 2 555 timers and a number of logic gates. The reason for me not using the 4017 was because of my project relied heavily on combinational logic, and that meant using a variety of gates and inputs. The finished project had a pedestrian sequence and two clock inputs. The clock speed would go faster when the light sequence was required to go to all routes at red for the pedestrian sequence. I'll post the finished project video onto Youtube soon.
very nice i thought it would be along the lines of that. i have a suggestion....... for the pedestrian sequence. in some cities once you press the button and all lights go red there is a timer that shows how many seconds you have to cross. if you could do that it would be super accurate
do you have a circuit diagram of this one? is the concept of 1face traffic light is thesame with the four faces?
