it's great! But i don't quite get how you did it. Did you use a painting and put it over a backlight? Or did you do something else?

i cant say for certain, but ive done something with a similar technique.

since newsprint is fairly thin, layering it can make it look more opaque than a single sheet. by overlaping pieces in hte right place, he can make a grayscale portrait.
