  • wish this wasn't an album only song on itunes... its the only song i'm lacking by Red :(

  • not just a post apocalyptic world but a guy geting ready to die as he hears raido chater

  • Comment removed

  • Whenever i hear this song, i picture a post apocalyptic world, nothing but ruins and fallout, a very eerie tone to this song, yet so awesome

  • I thought this was supposed to be Red? I feel more blue than anything...

  • I love Red's slower songs. I like their normal songs, too, but the slower ones are always so pretty.

  • thumbs up if you've read the book the title came from :)

  • WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • These people, have not any hope of death.

  • ........... Amazing... *Shivers.*

  • unplug your right speaker and enjoy the freaky SAW voice

  • I have this albumn but some of the songs you posted aren't on it! Where did you get them??

  • @PainsAngel did u get the deluxe edition? Canto's on the deluxe

  • @PainsAngel my bad, Canto's on the Bonus Track version

  • Not sure why people even compare Red to Linkin Park and even though they are both my favorite bands, comparing this band to Linkin Park is like comparing Shoes to slippers, you pick Red if you want the Job done.

  • This is actually really creepy. But I still love it.

  • Hear that beeping from the Morse Code? It means "Innocence and Instinct" ;D

  • @Warhawkisafungame Actualy, the begining is simple. Ulysses, or ULy repeated, over and over. Short hand for you lie. Or worse SOS.

  • @MrSaturdayNightSpecL are you sure? cause I repeated Innocence and Instinct over and over again in the morse code maker thing, and compared sounds, which I eventually figured out that I was right ;D

  • @Warhawkisafungame Yeah it says innocence and instinct. you should try it out and you'll get the same results xP

  • Yes the below is copy writed timed and dated. Enjoy the read!

  • About the album you are listening to. Know well, this album was written and constructed by many and not few. Under the guidence of a man thought well to be insane. This is more than just a simple album, its a recording of pain and a tormented mans soul. Its a recording of a battle fought out over computer screens and the cables that criss cross our planet. The battle for a single mans soul, spiritual blood splattered all over the walls of a tiny dark room in a tiny dark life. This is truth

  • Here, in the final hours of the new year, as we step one step closer to the numerical and astrological end of the oldest known calender on the planet. I am brought only to wonder if mankind will make it past that final great alignment of the planets and stars. Will we continue on the path of destruction of which we have wrought on our wonderful home that has fed and furnished us for so long? Will mankind continue its never ending apetitie for its own murderous self destruction? Will it stop?

  • @MiSzbOMU This is only in the Deluxe Edition album and is not in the normal one. Checked in their official site and it doesn't have lyrics for this intro. I think it's just to give the album a more ambiental mood background to what it is, a rock album with dark & gothic styles. This is also about the album's theme, the battle between good & evil, love & hate, innocence & instinct

  • They only did the intro? Or did they do the full song?

  • @MiSzbOMU

This is from the Divine Comedy, the section called Canto III (hence the name here) Look that up and you have the lyrics for this song. (They take out a good section of the actual Canto, but this is most of the beginning of it)

  • RED ROCKS

  • i love this kind of music

  • It's basically the lines of the exact poem Canto III of Dante's inferno.

  • this is so crazy awesime, i wish the speaking was louder tho, i cant evern hear it i had to read wat he was saying to even figure it out.

  • This whole album is my favorite. It had tons of feeling in it, and it shows what people go through when they try and do things the right way, but are just thrown back. I don't like how sometimes, the world is portrayed as a place of either destuction, or happiness. It's always one or the other. But this album, even if it is a little dark, shows that people are bad, but there is always a chance to Start Again.

  • @swordclaw42 I AGREE

  • Every time i hear this song i think of 9/11

  • When I first heard the title of this song I thought about The Inferno right away, since I read it a while back during school, but thought it wasn't probable that it was the case. Then, to my surprise, when me and a friend looked up the lyrics to this song and I got a whole new meaning to this song. I like this song and the band is great.

  • Lol religion. I'm ok with whatever Red has to do to put out music, because they are really talented, it's just funny they insist on being labeled "Christian music".

  • @travz21 They insist because their faith is an important part of their lives. It means alot to them. They just use their really talented selves to get that which is important to them out there to be heard. They make a point, and the album revolves that point. They make it their burden to create and put out music thats really meaningful to them. You gotta respect that...they're amazing.

  • why this always makes me imagine a dark forest with some ruins of a old castle with a freaking secret and deep silence slowly beeing braked by the wind blowing through the leafes...Or im just paranoic..."RED ftw" =)

  • thats basicly the theme of the front gates of hell in the poem The Inferno and he was reading verses from the 3rd canto of the poem(the name)

  • Dante's inferno is from the poem Divine Comedy. Look it up.

  • Dante's Inferno talks about Dante's battle through hell, to make his way back out. Get your head out of the fricken technology.

  • @ClarinetFreak007

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! you took the words RIGHT out of my mouth!

  • No, u haven't read the poem of Dante's Inferno. It describes, the loss of Innocence when a person is pushed into the darkness of its mind, or how Red describes it, Instinct. look up Red on their official website. It explains it alot better than what i can on here.

  • Theres no such thing as a Satanic Game? : /

  • Creepy, ne?

It's a bit odd to think that this is a christian band- but I must say it is a fantastic intro with a brilliant theme. Dark and meaningful- it just sends chills up my spine when I listen.

  • i love Dante's inferno...good poem, and red is amazing...

  • it's the inscription on the gate of hell in the divine comedy

  • wow there is something dark sinister and beautiful about the lyrics and the music! but at the end it sounds like hes saying more than what the lyrics supposedly say.....

  • Oh so beautiful...love the piano as well...I just relax when I hear their intros ^.^

  • here's what he's saying. Like what everyone below has said, its from Dante's Inferno. Through me the way to the city of the dolent Through me the way to eternal dole through me the way among people lost Justice incited my sublime Creator; Created me divine Omnipotence; The highest Wisdom, and the primal Love; "Before me there were no created things, Only eterne, and I eternal last, All hope abandon, ye who enter in." "These people have not any hope of death"
  • thank you sooo much :)

  • That is AWESOME!!! Thanks.

  • They resemble Linkin park in a way, they've even said that. <_<

  • I'm really glad they DON'T sound more like Linkin Park, if they did I probably wouldn't like them.

  • @SpaCeMunky008 what's so rong with LP??

  • @SpaCeMunky008, dude, LP is amazing! well, the older LP is really good like Hybrid Theory and Meteora....some of the newer is just, BLAHH. its ok though I guess. Linkin Park is coming out with a new album soon and said its gonna be more like their older records, so thats good.

  • @SpaCeMunky008 They sound like a little bit of every heavy rock band you know dude. . . And I've stopped listening to Evanescence when I discovered red.

  • creepy but so cool :P

  • so slow, so short... and so deep.

  • What's the guy saying? O_O

  • prayer, lol

  • It's a few lines from the poem, Dante's Inferno.

  • Its Canto III of Dante's Inferno. Hence the name lol.

  • THE VOICE AT THE END IS SO SCARY haha

  • take it all away - red

  • o ya and the intro to figh inside is good too. check it out

  • wow this is deep

    though all their stuff is

    I LOVE RED!

    <3(:

  • I love the piano

  • eerie but cool!

  • That voice reminds me of the SAW guy lol

  • Lol it is really like the saw voice at the end xD Love Red! Best band ever!

  • Reading it straight from the actual book, the song keeps doing until line 46 out 136. Which is "These people have not any hope of death;"

  • U can download it from torrents... But i suggest you buy the album if you like the song a lot ...

Thing is i downloaded a torrent and decided i liked the album so much i went out and bought it lol

  • @galaxiangel I do that all the time nowdays lol

  • @galaxiangel hmmm i download all his discography from a torrent too, but tell me why did you buy it at the end if u already downloaded them in the torrent :/ ?

  • That was cool!

  • Dante's Inferno - Canto III "Through me the way is to the city dolent (city of woe): "Through me the way is to eternal dole (pain): "Through me the way among people lost." "Justice incited my sublime Creator: "Cerated me divine Omnipotence, "The highest Wisdom and the primal Love." "Before me there were no created things, Only eterne (eternal), and I eternal last, All hope abandon, ye who enter in!" The first 9 lines outta 136 in this poem
  • Ok, Ive just googled Dante's Inferno - Canto III.

But what is it Dante's inferno?

    And what is Canto 3?

  • The book is called "The Inferno" by Dante Alighieri. It's often refered to as "Dante's Inferno". Published in roughly 1314 A.D.

Canto basically means "song" or "chapter". "The Inferno" starts with Canto I, then Canto II, Canto III, all the way to Canto XXXIV.

In a nutshell, the book is a series of poems that tell a man's trip though hell.

In Canto III, Dante follows Virgil the gates of hell, and meets Charon. The ferrymen that crosses the river Acherson.

  • "Inferno" is a classic book of the "Divine Comedy" written by Dante Alighieri in which God gives him of a revelation of how Hell looks like. And Canto III is the third chapter of the book.

  • Thanks. My friend.

  • ...thise is an eerie prelude to the song nothing and everything (the other version of fight inside)... christian rock is the best...

  • "Through me the way into the suffering city, through me the way to the eternal pain, through me the way that runs among the lost. Justice urged on my high artificer (creator). My maker was divine authority, the highest wisdom, and the primal love. Before me nothing but eternal things were made and I endure eternally. Abandon every hope, all ye that enter here."

  • the morse code is "Everything, nothing" over and over again

  • Anyone know Morse code? Or are the dots/dashes just incoherently laying out part of the music?

  • lol...

  • He led me in among the secret things.

There sighs, complaints, and ululations loud

Resounded through the air without a star,

Whence I, at the beginning, wept thereat.

  • did you like turn it up and listen to it for like 100x, kudos to you: ) these words are really deep.

  • Or just look up Canto III of Dante's Inferno.....

  • lol i have the book, i just wasn't sure where he was at when i tried read along, I still think you have bionic hearing : )

  • All hope abandon, ye who enter in! These words in sombre colour I beheld Written upon the summit of a gate; Whence I: "Their sense is, Master, hard to me!" And he to me, as one experienced: "Here all suspicion needs must be abandoned, All cowardice must needs be here extinct. We to the place have come, where I have told thee Thou shalt behold the people dolorous Who have foregone the good of intellect." And after he had laid his hand on mine With joyful mien, whence I was comforted,
  • Through me the way is to the city dolent

Through me the way is to eternal dole

Through me the way among the people lost.

    Justice incited my sublime Creator

    Created me divine Omnipotence,

The highest Wisdom and the primal Love.

Before me there were no created things,

Only eterne, and I eternal last.

  • Has anyone been able to figure out which passage is being spoken? For the life of me I have not been able to figure it out.

  • look for dante's inferno in bookstores. it's the beginning of Canto III

    ~Ninja

  • Behind The Song:

The 90-second intro recalls that moment from the classic poem when Dante and Virgil enter through the Gates of Hell. Its as though an ominous but important struggle is about to begin, says guitarist-songwriter Jasen Rauch, describing the section of Dantes Inferno that is read softly under the slow, mysterious rain of piano keys. There is something dark and sinister and beautiful about it, and we wanted to start the record with that tone, with that feeling.

  • what is he saying? anyone understand the words?

  • its even more on both extemes than the last... taking the Failure vs. Prevailing and turning it to Oblibion vs. Salvation

  • I found that this album seemed more hopeful then the last to be honest... guess I'm weird like that lol

  • Album is supposed to be darker, hence the creepiness I suppose lol...

  • ok.... pretty good i guess

i prefer the intro to end of silence though
