  • Did u have 5vz-fe or 2.7 4cyl?

  • @CharlieDoan 5vz SC

  • what SAS are you running. looking into it but cant find a kit that i like. looking to run 35's right now it has a 3" with 33's. it's a good start but not great off-road due to IFS

  • dude that is a retarded amout of flex! KUDOS!!!!!

  • How can you get the FRONT solid axle with that year ( only 1983-86??)

  • Does your truck got rear diff lock?

  • this has to be one of the sickiest tacoma i ever seem..man it walks like a spider very sticky.

  • nice truck! hope you removed the front leaf hangers :D

  • Nice rig....but why so High?

  • @greenjeep92 It's been lowered sense this video was shot.

  • @greenjeep92 i think that is a good hight because it gives it more ground clearence

  • @gotaxial but it is more likely to roll over since its so high

  • @f150man55 ya i know i just forgot to say that

  • lol u have enough lift there?

  • If I could have any vehicle in the world, It would be this sweet toyota here....

  • its disturbing how much flex that things getting ha

  • awesomely clean! nice ride

  • Thanks!

  • fucken clean.

  • Thanks!

  • that trucck has got some serious flex!

  • why toyota had to go a cater to all the vaginas out there and go ifs i have no idea if they stuck with the solid front axle jeep would be out of business

  • seriously

  • @F4izzle because not everyone rock crawls and wants crappy solid axle handling its only better at flexing low speed. If youd ever been in a toyota with bolt on long travel ifs and done some high speed off road youd take back your vagina commet in a sec.... i hate solid axle noobs. PS jeeps suck period .

  • @PowerLine596 what long travel ifs are you talking about. I have a 93 toyota, and all i have seen is expensive fabed longtravel.

  • @PowerLine596 Bolt on long travel and high speed dont mix buddy, if it was BOLT ON you were not doing no high speeds or maybe it felt fast to you. And my Tacoma handles 10x's better after doing an SAS to it and with a smoother ride. So stick to your crappy bolt on shit while we real offroaders will stick to our at home fabrication.

  • @F4izzle Well it goes like this: Not everyone needs a solid axle.

I'm not debating the benefit of solid front axles. I'm just stating fact.

My '06 Tacoma 4 door TRD 4wd is just fine with it's 3" Skyjacker lift and tires that are 2" larger diameter and 1" wider than stock.

Once I get it paid off and can afford a newer truck for the street, I might just modify mine with a solid axle.

But for right now, the IFS in mine works just fine for me.

And saying so does NOT make me a "vagina".

  • @WKHalford

You will change your mind when you actually start using your yota and break a cv joint every 20 miles

  • @sglander2 Change my mind about WHAT?

(1): I know CV joints break. Although I have never broken one, I have broken a U-joint.

(2): I NEVER said CV joints don't break.

(3): I NEVER said IFS was superior.

(4): In fact, I even said "I'm not debating the benefit of solid front axles". That means I DO KNOW that solid axles are typically stronger. So there is NOTHING to "change my mind" about.

(5): I actually DO use my Tacoma. Knowing I have IFS, I understand it's limits and am careful.

  • @sglander2 PART 2:

(6): You sure are ASSuming a lot. You have no idea how much I do actually use my Tacoma. I've got the scratches and body damage to show for it.

    (7) Every 20 miles? Wow. That estimate is quite a bit off, isn't it? I know of NO ONE who literally brakes a CV joint every 20 miles. Not even close to 20 miles.

If you had actually had reading comprehension skills, maybe you wouldn't have made wrong ASSumptions. Maybe you wouldn't have taken what I said and ASSumed a wrong meaning.

  • @sglander2 PART3: I still stand by my statement "Not everyone needs a solid axle". That is a FACT. Deal with it.

The issue is when someone blasted Toyota for using IFS. Toyota knows that most people don't need IFS, and that the benefits of IFS are more than enough for the typical buyer. And it seems that almost every manufacturer agrees, since only Jeep now uses a solid axle in a non-heavy duty application.

The '05+ Tacoma has stronger CV joints/shafts/front diffs. So it's better than it was.

  • @WKHalford easy guy. dont get you panties in a ruffle. yes i used some sarcasm when i said every 20 miles but its true. I just replaced the front diff, and both front axles and cv's last year and now i gotta do it again.

  • @sglander2 It's okay.

What year Tacoma do you have? Mine is an '06. I do know they went to stronger front drive components starting with the '05 models. They now have an 8" ring gear in front versus the previous 7.5" ring gear.

  • @F4izzle

i have a jeep and i agree. haha. (had a tacoma before so i can have a say right? :P )

  • wow thats a nice ride great job

  • thanks!

  • what type of coil over are you useing and what size. if i may know buddy, killer flex and ride.

  • fox 2.0

  • Very nice taco!

  • auto?

  • i dont give a fuck

  • wow a piece of crap tiny truck raised up a bunch with big tiers

  • i have an 01" tacoma and hope somday to do some minor mods to it but thats friken awesome

  • Thanks~

  • does that have a solid axle swap??? 31s or 33s?

  • Yes, and they are 37's

  • i know i was joking because its funny how many stupid people leave stupid comments. nice axle choices nice truck.

  • Ha. I just answer people now....

  • lol dude just made my day.. lmao

  • sweet rig mines an 884runner full width axles what yr is yours

  • 2001 dana 44 and a ford 9

  • 01 - put some videos up!

  • thats a sick ride man. i myself have a 92 yota on 33s. nothing special. its a good truck. im just getting money together to solid axle the front and put like 8 inches of suspension lift, and bob the bed. are you a part of arizona wildcat offroad by chance, cuz i know one of the dudes there has a taco exactly likes this one.

  • 0:21 now that's some flex, much love from an old-school leaf spring toyota flexer!!

  • Thanks man!

  • man i wish the cherokee was sittin on coil overs, to much pocket for me...very nice suspension :P

  • Thanks! I run with a lot of cherokees and they are all great.

  • BAD ASS!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • nice man! i have a 02 tacoma 4 door and im lookin at liftin it any suggestions?

  • Rocks or going fast?

  • I love this vid

  • Thanks!

  • Dang man, thats freakin SICK!!

  • woah lol thats rad man. you got a nice truck

  • nice is that the all-pro4-link?

  • No. No kit at all.

  • sick truck!!!! how big is the lift and wat size are those tires?

  • 38's Thanks man!

  • is it very difficult to convert the stock taco front suspension into a solid axle or can any weekend mechanic do it?

  • doing the fab work should be left to someone whos done it before. But most of the work isn't bad. Rebuilding the axles, installing shocks. Weekend guys can do all that. GO FOR IT!

  • its fairly involved, especially if you use a linked suspention like the one in this video.

if you google " toyota solid axle kits" there are quite a few companys that sell complete kits useing leaf springs, all you need to do is supply the axle

  • not bad at all, my personal Opinion is that its far to tall. But i guess its all relivant to where you wheel. Rounds these parts regardless of how much flex you have you would be on your side in about 3 minutes.

Now dont take this as me knocking your ride, its nice to see some one willing to mod a relitivly new truck like that.

  • I guess to put it into perspective. One of my buddies i roll with has a 85(?)K5, hes rocking 49s on about 4" of lift. its all about big tires low trucks here

  • If I built a crawler or mud truck only, that would have been what I would have done.

  • It did turn out a bit tall... but I had to some trade offs to sort out. Im also really into GLamis and you need more up travel for that. So it's set right in middle, 7.5'' travel both ways (at the shock).

  • Look at that flex! Amazing. Great work here.

  • Thanks!

  • Damn thats a nice ride!!!!!

  • thanks!

  • Wow, is there such a thing as too much flex? Looks like a capable rig! Good work.

  • Thanks

  • I see you used to have a leaf spring sas frount end how much better is the four link for you and what axles are you using?

  • Good eye. I used to run rancho 44044 leafs up front. To be honest, the leafs flexed almost as much, and i had less sway around town. They where not bad at all! I went to the coils because I really got into going to the dunes, no comparing the coils to leafs out in that environment. A lot has happened to this truck sense the video. I had more pics on my web site. You doing a sas?

  • bad-ass articulation!! me=jealous

  • thanks

  • that's a nice sas'd taco.

  • thanks

  • is that the all pro kit or something else?

  • Nice crawler man!! what have ya slowed her down with??

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • yotas never die!

    toyota trucks 4 life!

  • damn. nice truck.

  • Thanks!

  • ho dis truck is animal. TOYS 4 LIFE

  • Great truck, skilled driver!

  • all I can say is just that taco is a sexy beast!!

  • kick ass flex smooth as butter man.

check out my skull crusher =0)

  • Thanks a lot man! Yeah the jeep toyota pissing contest still goes on. But it gets to a points where it really isn't a jeep or toyota anymore. We are all out to wheel!

  • It's called "Test Run" for a reason, but whatever makes you happy....

  • fuck you!

  • how much you sell? let me know! i would buy it

  • 20?

  • maybe

  • nice! put some seafoam in the engine, it kills all the build up and brings back ALL the horsepower

  • thats too easy for that beast, get some footage up of some hard trails id love to see it

what kind of lift and springs u runnin? gearing? lockers?

  • I have a lot of stuff I need to put up. One day ill get around to it!

  • Locked, 5.13 gears, fox coilovers in the front, and custom length leafs built by southwest spring here in Tucson in the back.

  • is it the 4 banger or v6?

  • Supercharged v6

  • Anyone up for wheeling again? Post up!

  • Saw you sat morning, at the circle K. Your truck is sick bro. Wish mine was sas'd.

  • Did you go out wheeling? What where you in? SHOULD OF CAME ALONG! And thanks for the comment!

  • I had the single cab purple taco with a mild lift and black rims. Im always down to go wheeling though as long as we go somewhere that is ifs friendly.

  • I remember. Next time we do chivo or charlu(SP?) Ill post up with some warning time. We might go out this sat.

  • That Toyota will go places your H2 can't.

  • I sure spent a few minutes looking at some of your favorite videos... LOL

  • rugermoose,your favorites list rocks!!

  • Going to Chivo Falls December 15th. Circle K at 10 AM. Everyone welcome!

  • Nice Rig!! I like that flex, didnt know yota's could bend like that.

  • Thanks. They don't flex really, when stock. No perfect truck. I just started with what I thought was the best and for what I like to do, made it better.

  • ohhh man SAS and COILS!! ::DROOL:: Consider yourself a very lucky Toyota owner

  • Thanks! And I do. I just bought a diesel to tow it around with. Not that it doesn't drive fine, but if i kill it in the dunes ( 400 miles away ) I need to get it home! SO... it might end up a buggy with that mind set!

  • HAHA!!!! You have to trailer it around??? What a joke. You might as well buy/build a rock buggy that's better than that POS.

  • Did you read my first comment? Once you start wheeling hard enough where damage isn't a question of 'if' but 'when', you will understand. Sometimes in the dunes, someone else will crash into you! No truck, buggy, toy is unbreakable. I just think ahead.

  • Don't you drive an H2? LOL

  • HAHA!!! And you have to trailer your junk.

  • Can you read?

  • awesome man... have you taken it up blacktail on post yet?

  • What blacktail? I guess I havn't! LOL

  • It's west of old post on ft. Huachuca.... you would love it. my friend has been to chiva and he says it's more fun and technical thank blacktail but the views up at the top of blacktail are great. Plus there's some nice cruxes to get through on the way up. ;)

  • The truck is being prepped for Glamis season right now.. but id love to check it out!

  • Damn thats probably the best tacma I've ever seen. SFA is essential. I can't do the IFS thing...nice work on your truck man.

  • Thanks!

  • ford 9 and and d44.

  • look like chevys, that was crazzzzy

  • niiiice! What axles?
