O man , thank you for this song, I'm 18 years old and I can't stop dreaming with the day we will all be together with our lord Jesus . Time to work boys, the time is short
"I'm on my way, heavenly home". I know that's right. Songs like this remind me of when I would go to prayer meetings with my great-grandfather in South Carolina as a child. There was no choir or instruments just us in the woods in a little, tiny, micro shack singing GOD'S praises. It was nothing but raw vocals. That's the way The Joy Harmornizers sound to me. Good ol' raw singing. LIfting up GOD and JESUS!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!
This is one of the greatest songs I have EVER heard. This is not just a post, this is a gift. Amazing and historically important piece of music here. This shows how Detroit's sound was influenced by Gospel more so than other metro areas. If you were to slightly change the lyrics and add a drum you'd have an early 60's Detroit R&B record. This is reminiscent of commercial Detroit releases on labels like Teek, Chex, Fortune, Hi-Q, etc. Motown's earliest stuff had this feeling to it as well.
Classic black gospel singing! I just love these rare, unknown gospel groups. There harmony in a lot of cases was better than most of the popular groups.

They certainly picked the right name to call their group.
