  • Hi Ben Just been on your website Looking at the FAQ section one thing I can't find is How much the online lessons are . And If they are 30 minutes lessons or 1 hour lessons as in the skype ones. Regards Nick

  • @nicolasangelis Howdy Nick! My uploaded video lessons average about 30 minutes each, and I put a new one up every week. Those are accessed for the monthly price (VERY CHEAP), and with that Gold Pick membership you have access to every video lesson and tab. As far as private lessons, I do both 30 minute and 1 hour lessons via Skype. I'm booked up through March right now, but I have a new site launching soon and I'll have available lesson times posted there. Thanks!

  • Hello ben, Greeting from the U.K . PLEASE HELP i need some advice. How do you learn to play more than one instrument. I already play Guitar in the Johnny cash style as in the bass strum or boom chick . I wish to learn to play banjo and mandolin how did you study these 2 instruments. would you say 30 minutes each per day an hour each per day Please help Ben Need ADVICE Best Wishes Nick

  • @nicolasangelis Howdy Nick! You definitely have to allot an ample amount of time to the other instruments, and be deliberate in your learning. It's tough to find enough time in the day for each instrument. You have to be disciplined for sure, but you can do it!

  • @BanjoBen1 Thank you Banjo Ben. May I ask what is your opinion on The Gold tone OB -250 Banjo? regards Nick

  • @nicolasangelis I've never played one personally, but I've heard great things about them!

  • Thank you for letting me know. Sorry with all the questions . Just one more. how many hours did you practice a day to get as good as you are on the banjo? . Also have you done a video on the dueling banjos song? regards Nick

  • @nicolasangelis All of this is answered on my site :) I practiced 8 hours a day for several years...almost every day. I have a 30+ minute video lesson and tab of Dueling Banjos on my website as well. Thanks!

  • quick question for other mandolin players i play guitar mostly but since there both string instruments i picked it up quickly anyhow my g strings keep getting outta tune almost right away and all the other strings are just fine. Anytime i play any notes on the strings it just sounds dead in comparison is their anything i can do about this? Much thanks..

  • Wow was that song at the end You and your Sisters!? i like it. i want to hear the full vversion

  • What brand of Mandolin strings do you recommend? and what kind of pick do you use?

  • @TheBasenjiman Howdy! I use Elixir medium mando strings, and I'm currently using a Blue Chip and Red Bear pick. Thanks!

  • What brand of Mandolin strings do you recommend?

  • Banjo Ben, Y'all are a riot!

  • You are always so entertaining as well instructional! Cheers !

  • great lesson! I'm a drum and bass DJ but have decided to teach myself bluegrass mandolin! Its going well so far but living in the UK there is not much inspiration or help for learning mandolin or bluegrass. So yeah thanks for a great vid! shame it ended so soon though!

  • @Bledbox Thanks! Come over to the website and check out all my premium videos and tabs for only $5/month...that's less than half a pack of strings :) I promise to make it worth every penny, and I upload a new instructional video every week!

  • @BanjoBen1 think I'll be joining on monday :) thanks again Ben, have a good weekend

  • @Bledbox there is lots of UK bluegrass things going on it's just finding the right information. I found ukbluegrass . com very useful.

  • if i had the time to learn mandolin i would learn from banjo ben :D

  • i can see in this video you are playing behind the extension, do you ever pick over the extension? I have a scooped extension on my mandolin and I still find myself beatin up on that poor florida on faster songs. Any tips on picking depth? I know it has to be slowing me down and the clicking sound drives me crazy.

  • @HardestyRyan Howdy! I do play over the extension sometimes, and sometime I actually LIKE to hear that click :) If you listen to Ricky Skaggs playing fiddle tunes on his mando, you'll hear that clicking quite a bit. I'm sure you can overdo it, though. I end up playing pretty deep in the strings, which you can see on the split screen.

  • muy bueno su trabajo desde argentina Andres banjo ben.
