  • Im all for being upham. I will write a book. About the brotherhood in military and masons in usa.

These are nazis. Squad full of nazis.

Whats usa going to do? Arrest me for typing this on internet? ya fuck you

  • Gripes, Y U NO GO DOWN?

  • Seal it with a kiss 2:59

  • Why isnt the medic armed, he should atleast have a pistol or somthing

  • Fubar...

  • my favorite scene in the whole movie

  • Love Jackson's gripe "if you were to put me and this here sniper riffle anywhere up to 1 mile to adolf hitler with a clear line of sight"

  • Jackson. <33333333

"Sir? I have an opinion on this matter?"

"Well then by all means share it with the squad."

"Well from my way of thinking sir, this entire mission is a serious misallocation of valuable military resources."

"Well, what I mean by that sir is if you put me in this here sniper rifle anywhere up to one mile from Adoft Hitler, with a clear line of sight sir? Pack y'er bags fellas, war's over. Amen!"

    <3 He's the best.

  • Well in that case. I'd say this is an excellent mission sir, with an extremely valuable objective sir. Worthy of my best effort sir. Moreover, I feel heartfelt sorrow for the mother of Private James Ryan and willing to lay down my life and the lives of my men, specially you Riben to ease her suffering.

  • I love their american english:)

  • "Now pay attention. This is the way to gripe!"

  • 1:35 Maybe that soldier is Holland's great great great grandfather from halo: Reach

  • I absolutely adore this scene.

  • 8 germans disliked this

  • all of this is a big pucking thing

  • Well, from my way of thinking, sir, this entire mission is a serious misallocation of valuable military resources... so, it seems to me, sir, that God gave me a special gift, made me a fine instrument of warfare... , what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.

  • was pretty much the first special forces squad.

  • This SO reminds me of my time in service...

  • "Well, maybe not the captain, but the rest of us have got mothers."

  • @reeness09 Killing Hiter could have possibly been the worst thing the allies could have done. Hitler was the only reason that operation Barbarossa failed and that Germany lost d-day. And if operation Barbarossa succeeded than no-one could have stopped Germany.

  • @AdamSavage88 you do know hitler slept all through dday

  • Comment removed

  • @brickboy54 Hitler probably did not sleep through d-day. D-day happened around 6-8 am, and i believe Germany is in a different time zone so hitler would have been at 7-9 am zone. And even if Hitler dint care about d-day he cared about the eastern front, which was where Germany's real problems laid. Hitler was known to stay up days at a time because of stress due to the eastern front. And did you know the German d-day defensive forces commander was in Germany for a funeral on d-day?

  • @AdamSavage88 Have you never watched the longest day? It says Hitler took a sedative to have a nap, and we all know that films can never ever get anything wrong.....

  • @personperson125 I dont base my historical knowledge on movies. I prefer to read war diaries and memoirs by generals. And i really dont care about the western front much at all, not much really happened compared to the eastern front. But i do know d-day started at 12:00 am france time, which is 2:00 am german time, and d-day was unexpected. So hitler probably saw no reason to stay awake for no reason.

  • @AdamSavage88 Ok, get someone to introduce you to a dictionary, and look up the word "irony"

  • @personperson125 To be honest i didnt even finish reading your comment..... i was too lazy. But my point still stands. And i fail to see the point you tried to make by your "ironic" comment.

  • @AdamSavage88 So your diaries & memoirs told you that Germany and France have different time zones? Great :)

  • @AdamSavage88 So your diaries & memoirs told you that Germany and France have different time zones? Great :)

  • @AdamSavage88 Hi did care. But he just wasn't infomred immidiatly. And he still believed at this time that the main invasion would take part at Calais.

  • This is my favorite dialog of all.

  • Reiben is badass

  • after this movie these actors careers skyrocketed well except for hanks he was already on that level

  • This is one of my favorite movies ever <3

  • @TheMarshallfan FUBAR is a shortening that usually interpret as the vulgar english phrase "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition/Reality /Any Repair - Redemption or Recovery" & the word "Fucked" sometimes replaced with "Fouled" which is believed to be an American WWII slang. According to a one of the German "folk etymology theories" fubar comes from "furchtbar"= terrible.....

  • Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition UFCextras talkin outa his ass

  • so whats fubar mean now?!

  • @TheMarshallFan Fubar means you're fucked, you're going in to a trap that will fuck yourself over , probably ambush. either way it's fubar, you're fucked

  • @UFCextra and what are the exact words of it? like what do the letters stand for

  • @TheMarshallFan

    fubar = furchtbar = horrible

  • dude ed burns was a boss in this movie. cant decide whats better this, or one flew over the cookoos nest. both awesomme

  • dude thats hilarious hes talking about brotherhood when he hasnt expierenced battle lol

  • I LOVE THIS CLIP. <3

  • FUBAR = Fuck U bastard and RickRoll

  • F*ucked Up Beyond All Recognition not even dental records stylee

  • the same thing as bla bla bla bla blaa

  • ya jackson u who can end the war by one bullet. first call him to show his head then say

pack your bag i give'em head shot

  • FUBAR = F*CKED UP BEYOND ALL REPAIR

  • fubar means f**ked up beyond all reasons

  • fubar means, for all of you who've apparently not been in the service, f*cked Up Beyond All Recognition. So, if it's a stupid mission then the mission is fubar.

  • fubar means that even you know that it is a wrong mission to do( maybe kill yourself and 8 other soldiers, just to get one back home) and you still do it.

    but i could be wrong

  • @jimerick1 you are right

  • especially you Reiben:)

  • mellish (fish) is funny in this part hahahah.

  • hey, i thought Jackson's left handed and Mellish and Carpy are right handed!

.... i guess when you've seen the movie hundreds of times you come to see stuff like that.

  • what do you know about brotherhood? get a load of this guy fish.

  • 0:58-1:05 LOL.

  • Fucked

    Up

    Beyond

    All

    Recognition

    FUBAR :D

  • @wulFE117 hahah i was just about to ask what it meant... i always miss the part where he explains it

  • "well....maybe not the captain but the rest of us got mothers." haha. Reiben is amazing

  • what does gripes mean?

  • it means the way he complains....in the Army back in WW2 they would call it FUBAR or SNAFU....hope it helped:)

  • so what is this scene explaining about gripes?

  • its saying how in the Army you do things because you are ordered to not because you want to....and when Upham says "theres lots of reasons why but to do or die" he is saying that you signed up for a reason and you go through.... As for Jackson the Sniper he claimes that the whole mission is FUBAR and that he has better use of his skills...as or Rieben hes just thinks its a waste of time and effort. hope that clears it up...if u have any more questions than you can just message me.

  • awesome thanks

  • @Cod3onlineplayer glad...ive seen this movie millions of times so i got use to knowing the characters :)

  • lolz the only person i know well is.. .......wait wats his name? lol

  • @CDTwheaton - Actually the quote is "Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die" and its from The Charge of the Light Brigade, by Lord Tennyson.

  • thanks didn't know that :)

  • complain

  • griping is complaining

  • complaining.

  • this is like the greatest movie ever. Jackson is my favorite character I mean hes awesome.... its funny because the guy who playes Jackson, Barry Pepper, works with Tom Hanks in the Green Mile, and Vin Deaseal in The Knockaround Guys....

  • we'll maybe not the captain but the rest of us got mother, lol love the that rule.!

  • maybe not the captain but the rest of us got mothers

  • ah yes wat a great movie

  • indeed

  • lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal what the fuck is that supposed to mean?

  • and barry pepper looks a lot like the recent goalkeeper of bayern munich, i swear as well :)

  • This scene was filmed in Ireland -

County Wicklow on the East coast.

  • I swear, Edward Burns looks a lot like Adam Sandler.

  • Well in WW2 Medics might of been desprate and carried mybe a small weapon like a thompson

  • Small? Thompson? Lol.

  • Better than luggin around a Recoiless Rifle

  • Us medic's din't carry weapons, but finnish soldiers have big rifle and it was 120 cm long and you talking about samll weapons :D

  • have anyone notice that in this scene the soldier Jackson( sniper) holds his rifle as if he's right handed but in the sniper scene he holds the rifle like a left handed?

  • he's on the left-hand facing forward of the ranger squad formation....he's gotta have his rifle facing the outside of the flank.....makes sense....same as in Band of Brothers...

  • ok..now it does make sense

  • This scene is a favorite for me. It brings a nostalgic chuckle. Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • It's a shame mellish got knifed.

  • de medic do not have a gun.... why???

  • medics for the most part dont need to fight just try to get woundeds off the field for the most part ur not supposed to shoot medics

  • Medics are concidered by the Geneva convention to be "non-combatants" and are not issued weapons because they are not to be fired at.

  • but we all know when a sniper sees that red cross its a juicy target. good thing medics dont wear them anymore.

  • Do you know Desmond Doss?

He was a religious soldier that refused to shoot a gun in Okinawa and because of his saves as a medic (75 wounded) no deads, he got the Medal of Honor, without a gun. Thats an example, or sometimes medics are not given guns just for more equipment, sometimes just a pistol.

  • That's some awesome research. GTA4FAN24!

  • As long as I know about WW2 morale thing, they thought a person who saves lives must not kill people.

  • then, a medic wasn't classified as a combatant. technically speaking, you're an '(company) aid man'

  • most medics dont carry weapons cause their usually too busy with the wounded. they always carry a pistol though. but some dont on moral grounds.

  • Well, it's illegal under the Geneva Convention for Medics to carry anything but a self-defense weapon (pistol), but of course you find that medics these days will sometimes go in with carbines and the like.

  • Hobar ( or however you spell it ) it said twice, once where,"What does Hobar mean?" "It's German" and when they go to the plane crash "I can't find Hobar in the German"

  • Fubar

  • Fubar - Fucked Up Beyond All Repair or

    Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition

  • HAHAH your comment gave me a laugh

  • "Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen."

  • hahah how fucking cool is the sniper

  • Jackson is a great character, I loved him in this movie.

  • I wanted him to be a survivor. But no, he fired a few too many times and got blown up by a Jagdpanther.

  • It was a self propelled gun, but it wasn't a Jagdp. Something else, can't remember.

  • Yeah, well, that's what it looked like from the front.

  • favorite line of the whole movie

" shit i bet even the captains got a mother.......ok maybe not the captain"

  • lol XD

  • Tom Hanks = awesome actor.

  • Jackson's hilarious...:

"...Pack yourbags, fellas, Wars over. Amen"

    :)

  • what does he mean gripes go up

  • he means he doesnt complain to his lower ranking soldiers he only complains to his higher ranking superiors

  • oh okay thanks

  • Miller's right. Gripes go up! Not down!

  • But then again lung cancer is the mutation of the DNA is lung cells. So smoking a pathetic amount actually kills the cells and you dont get cancer as they cant mutate into a tumor. However you do have a technically dead lung. So its best to just not smoke.

  • sapendo che io sono un appassionato della ww2 saprete anche certo che salvate il soldato ryan è il mio film preferito

  • These comments are FUBAR.

  • Ohh the captain dissed all their mothers.

  • rofl082193- Miller is telling Horvath to tell everyone else to fan out in formation.

  • they hold it in their mouth if they dont smoke... that or they just take a pretend drag off a fake cig and they edit in the smoke.

  • :35 - :38 the fuck are miller and horvath doing lol

  • hand signals... why? i have no idea

  • do the actors really smoke? Thats rly tough quitting and starting cuz of the role.

  • if they dont inhale (breath in the smoke) they dont get addicted. just keepin it in your mouth puts alot less smoek in your lungs

  • and gives you mouth Cancer alot Fast then Lung Cancer. so their Fake Cigs

  • No, you don't get cancer from smoking just a few cigs (the number they smoke in the movie). Or, well, you could, but it is incredibly improbable and if you do then you were probably going to develop cancer anyway (some people are, genetically, more vulnerable to cancer than others). But smoking is a cumulative effect, so you get cancer from becoming addicted and smoking several per day.

  • wow i didnt know vin diesal is in this movie thats awsome

  • he dies lol

  • That is stupid. Its like saying "That Nigger is black." Yes a little redundant.

  • do you feel special after correcting someone? do you feel more superior to him? its sergeant218's opinion.deal with it. you hate his opinion and i hate yours. call it a mutual dislike or hatred. ha ha

  • To be really pedantic, it's more like saying "that black guy is a nigger," but whatever.

  • i fully understand your point sir, i was just getting at the point when haji gets a hold of our American personal i.e. Sgt. Maupin they show no mercy for international law. duly noted, sir.

  • dude are you a bloody nazi?goddamn man he maybe a pussy but man dont call him a kike especialy watching a vid clip of saving private ryan

  • I is not allowed to attack medics in combat. MEdics are allowed to carry weapons for self-defense reasons. So if a medic is under fire he is allowed to fire back but he is must not be a target for the enemy normally.

IN reality every soldier shoots at any soldier of the opposite side, no matter if medic or not.

  • that is a misnomer, in Iraq and Afghanistan our medics were strapped and ready to fire. your comment is quite humorous.

  • Might be humorous, nevertheless it is the truth, except the U.S. dismiss international law. Oh I forgot, the U.S. already do like in a certain camp on Cuba... Ohhh what was the name of it I can not remember....Might it be Guantanamo ? Tz....

Well, I do not want to discuss if your medics fight or only self-defense. In recognition to the laws they are not allowed to fight, except they are attacked. But THAT should be daily life so you might say they fight any day.The Red Cross is a no go.

  • Please explain to me what you and FJT1983 are arguing about

  • Please explain to me what you and ScorpionFo are talking about

  • Huh, I always wondered how medics made it out alive...

  • why didnt have medics rifles?

  • Well, it depends on who you talk to, but the general consensus in WWII was that if you get rid of the rifle, you can carry more First Aid and morphine and shit. And the second reason was that when the Germans went into WWI, medics were off limits. In WWII, the red cross was a painted target...

Dick move, but baiting works. Injure one soldier, wait till another comes to get him, injure him, etc...

    Bastards.

  • wtf are medic rifles?

  • Usually medic rifles are rifles used by the medic. Kind of obvious you know.

  • well they didn't have medic rifles because they aren't medics.

  • Yea very funny

  • well it makes sense.

  • Germany and England

  • best movie ever but wat was the piont of you filming this boring part

  • It's not boring, it serves as comedic relief, especially after that intense opening

  • where is wades rifle?

  • Hes a medic.

  • Although he's a medic he is stilling carry a small rifle between his bags and his back.

  • Kick-ass movie. Definitely one of the best parts in it, by the way.

  • great movie
