@ShinzouNoNaiOtoko oh, well now ive learned something lol, here in america the eg6 comes only in year range 92-95 and thats a fact! but in japan i guess its different, but i do have a 92 eg si, with a b16a!
@ShinzouNoNaiOtoko oh ya i have the jdm b16a with p30-000 ecu i did the swap, and actually the american eg si's come with a very shitty d16z6 motor, although alot of people like to build them up and turbo them, i got rid of mine, im all about b-series motors :), here the b16a2 actually comes stock in the 99-2000 civic si.
@zObdayzzz d16z6 is not so shitty. It may have a longer lifetime due to lower power. Personally I'd rather have the D15B VTEC than D16Z6.
Did you try drive your eg6 more economically? If so, what was fuel consumption? I wonder if it is more than in my D14Z6. When I try drive economically then it is 7,0 (city) and 5,5 (highway) (34mpg and 42mpg).
@ShinzouNoNaiOtoko well, the d16z6 has potential but stock its just not much fun, the vtec is very quiet and I could never even hear it kick much. I dont much care for a longer lifetime in a motor, overall the b-series motors have a very long life, even with some abuse. Ive been running mine pretty hard and its still in tip top shape after two years. I know thats not that long but i havent had one mechanical issue with it. and when it had the d16z6 i did not drive it economically lol.
@ShinzouNoNaiOtoko right now i have the usdm ecu from a del sol si "93-97" which has the dohc b16a1 in it. It runs more lean now and does get better mileage. its still a p30 ecu but the number is p30-a00 instead of p30-000 so serials are almost the same lol. Im not sure on the actual mpg i dont pay attention to it.
but ive never driven a d15 or d14 but would take quite a bit of money toget alot of power out of those motors, not to mention th d14 is not a good motor to build up to me.
an eg6 is a body code (92-95 civic hatch's) a b16b is the motor that came from Type-R Civic's.
...always remember when it comes to honda motor codes, the number between the letters show the displacment, and the last number on the block is to represent the region from where the motor came from.
ok, thanks a whole bunch. isnt their only sports version type r? and if i wanted a fast spoon civic hatchback with rectangle lights but not really expnsive, what would you get?
ahh, a hatchback is a small car man. and the eg6 has rectangle rear lights, the other model has the oval shape rear lights on the corners. and type r is the sports version or racing version..
i technically wouldnt say an EG has regtangle tail lights...i own one, they dont seem to rectangled to me...and the type-r is technically a 'race' version. but not STRICTLY for race purposes, alot of people run b18c/b18c5/b16b's, they're a high revving stout motor
so the b16b eg spoon (can yu buy it like that or does it require engine swap or something?) revs high? like up to 11000rpm because thats what i want, can you get a vtec b16b spoon? with the same shape as an eg6? u no with the rectangle rear lights lol or square
you'll probably have to do the swap...i think a stock b16b revs to like 9000+ rpms...but if its an ACTUAL spoon motor with built internals and shit probably 10,000+ rpms, but you'll probably pay and arm and a leg IF you actually found one. all b16b's are DOHC Vtec.
DOHC mean Dual Over Head Cam. 2 cams control the intake and exhaust valves. b16b spoon motor is surely to be quick, from the factoy NO EG6s came with spoon motors, let alone ANY FACTORY HONDA. Spoon Sports is a Honda Based Team that builds hondas to compete mostly in road racing competitions.
ok, so name me the full spec of an eg6 that has dohc and a spoon motor and/or vtec. correct me. (by name the full spec i mean like, "citroen saxo 1.6 vts". or a "1.8 ford focus st"
it sounds awesome

KX125dude 1 year ago
@KX125dude
Civic EG6: 1991-1995
Engine model: B16A
170 ps (125.04 kw) / 7800 rpm
16.0 kg*m (156.91 N*m) / 7300 rpm
ShinzouNoNaiOtoko 1 year ago
@ShinzouNoNaiOtoko its actually 92-95 is the year range on the eg6 but hey close enough lol
zObdayzzz 1 year ago
@zObdayzzz
1992? EG6 SIR and SIR II were available only in Japan and were produced in the range 09.1991 - 08.1995.
In Europe EG6 was called VTI and had 160 ps. Maybe VTI was produced in 1992-1995, I don't know...

Did you do engine swap? If you didn't then you have B16A2 (almost the same.. just different ECU)
EG6 USDM should have B16A2 engine (B16A is only for japanese eg6)
