  • Watch the movie "Defense against the psychopath" here on YT

  • Jonestown was the perfect set up out of hell. Watch "America's Dark Secrets" documentary trailer via my page.

  • They just landed into the lions den...

  • I don't get this guy with the moustache who's talking here : he wants to get out because it's to dangerous, because he thinks they are all going to die there but he is willing to leave his 4y old son behind? he's much better off there ? what an asshole !!! trying to get out himself but leaving his kid ??? wtf the coward !!!!

  • @shirahbe1 coward indeed

  • @ThaCerealKilla How oculd he ahve possibly known what was going to happen? Not to mention they were all so drained none of thjem could think straight. Cut him a break, it's bad enough he has to live with that fact his son died in such a cruel way but don't blame him, blame Jim Jones.

  • @shirahbe1 to be fair; he was indoctrinated into a cult in the first place AND he could have thought that if he attempted to escape with his son, that his son would be harmed/killed, whereas if he stayed, kids wouldn't be harmed.

  • It's eerie just how real this was.

  • Mr. Ryan started the ball rolling on November 18th. He should have minded his OWN business and stayed away from Jonestown.

  • @chadpopstar He was trying to help. He couldn't have known how dysfunctional the whole situation really was. Many people in Jonestown didn't even know. Jim Jones is the one to blame.

  • im sure mr gosney regrets not taking his son. I have no kids, but the thought of my future kids dying is enough to make me cringe. There is actual footage of Jones adressing that note, saying if this place wasnt so great, then why is this man going to leave his son? Then, well, we know how the next day proceeded. Its terribly sad, so i tell people to be skeptical on most propositions.

  • It's scary how many people could be fooled into thinking Jonestown was a safe place. They never saw the beast within.

  • Church preachers do this sort of thing all the time.... just a bit more cleaned and polished for the slaughter.

  • why cant Bin Laden be anything but just like this lunatic? B/c the media wants to attack Islam itself. not The mad men that claim to be representative of 1 billion plus ppl? There are lunatics in every position: Law,Medicine;religion;science;and politics-Use their fields to manipulate the vulnerable&trusting ppl. who NEED to believe someone has a solution for their feelings. These ppl. represent themselves&their agendas-PERIOD. To access God; you dont need a middle-man.

    paz/peace/salam/shalom

  • @translationwiz That's very true and I couldn't agree with you more, being an American I do not like MOST of the decisions they make or the lies they tell.. My country's 'leader' does not represent me, my thoughts, nor my feelings. Their are bad apples in any bunch, and many of those, similar to this situation, interpret it as a good thing at first, willing to do anything for their leader. I don't blame these people, my heart breaks for them. God Bless.

  • Many people are very attracted to and seduced by psychopaths like Jones. Its a personality syndrome shared by alot of preachers who simply dont become outright criminals out of self restraint.

  • OK, now I think that this is one of the parts that pisses me off the most. Who in the hell would leave their child in Jonestown, when they, themselves, feel so scared and mistreated?? "He's better off here"..?? How so, is what Id love to ask that man..thinking clearly or not, the father realized what he was having to undergo with the scare-tactics, inhumane conditions, etc.. I'd be damned if I ever left my child anywhere..

  • @millerfamily03 cause his own son might snitch on him thats why he left him there . i dont know if you missed that part or not

  • @millerfamily03 I agree. Even if that risked their lives, he should've thought of his son's safety rather than his own. I guess desperation makes the mind do insane things.

  • @dramatique10 Yes I agree, it's really unfortunate.Who knows what they would do in that kind of situation, I just know me.I'm a Mother and if something ever happened to my child, that would be the end for me. I think that's how he did get those (that did agree) to follow through because they had already witnessed their children's death love my son more than anything and would go to no end to protect him, even if that costs me my life. It breaks my heart.

  • These people were so gullible. If they took the time out to read God's word for themselves, they would of seen that Jim Jones was a false prophet employed by Satan. I never understood why some people are so quick to believe the words of another person without doing the research to confirm it's truth. I pray the Lord all mighty has mercy on all their souls who are now deceased.

  • this actor is really bad

  • @JerseyMcgee81 I don't think so he is showing how twisted Jim Jones really was! He was high on stimulants during much of his time in Guyana.

  • @macrent2 Ive seen and ive heard live footage of the man, and he did not sound like a raving loonatic like this actor in his portrayal, he was quite calm and collected, how on earth do you think he conned so many people (not including those who were forced) to commit suicide .

  • @JerseyMcgee81 as a matter of fact this guy playing jim jone's would'nt be out of place in the WWF

  • @JerseyMcgee81 This was the final days of his life and his downfall into madness. He was on drugs and was psychotic in his final days.

  • @macrent2 What dont you understand about crappy acting, watch the REAL video footage, listen to the REAL tape's of his final speech before he convinced people to commit mass suicide/homicide, this guy sound's and act's nothing like him his acting is a distraction from the story, you do understand we are talkng about the actor ?

  • @JerseyMcgee81 Yes, I understand... His acting is not the best especially at the end during the suicide... he was more drab and glib in the tapes.

  • @brayborn13 People initially WANTED to be there. They genuinely believed that they were saving the world. But because people were afraid to talk to each other about their doubts, everybody thought that everybody else was a True Believer, so almost everybody was too afraid to do anything. You can't really rebel if you think you're the only one who wants to, and if you're trained to think that that desire is evil and sinful, and you really believe it.

  • Sort of reminds me of Orwell's "1984". You know, how kids sell out their parents like miniature spies and don't mind bad things happening to them because they love the party so much.

  • the real Jim Jones left behind lots of films and audio tapes of himself

he didnt yell like that actor is doing

he had a smoother controlled way of talking- manipulators do

Powers Booth based his acting on the jones audio tapes

  • In no way the person speaking on those audio tapes could have been in a calm mood ...

  • Or the films may have been a propaganda put on, polack, while the audio tapes were the genuine article.

This was the 70's, film for home movie cameras, especially film with sound, was very expensive. Jones put his best face forward on the expensive medium and was his usual psycho self on the less expensive audio tapes, I think.

  • Vernon Godney = Coward. Just watching you being interviewed makes me sick.

  • kidballistic -

It's oh so easy to judge someone. Walk a mile in his shoes, though. I don't believe he thought there'd be a mass murder that day. I believe he was more concerned that the people leaving would be murdered than the people staying. If he were truly a coward, he would have stayed.

  • He attracted cowardly, delusional, lost people. If just one had a set a nuts he would of got his hands on a gun and jacked Jim Jones before he got this far. How to you allow yourself to be awoken in the middle of the night many times over for a mass suicide practice without doing something about it? Sad. I wish I was one of the followers who woke up at one point or another. I would have gotten his ass before he got this far.

  • you don't know that. These people were brainwashed...They thought that they were actually being brought into something good, and when it got really far, they were all being brainwashed comepletely. They worked 20 hours a day and got little sleep and with that your exhausted. they were also being preached to 24-7 and when your that tired, all that sinks in sooner or later. They were just completely brainwashed but don't get me wrong, I kinda agree with you.

  • poor

  • for someone who finds this boring.... im surprised how much of it you're watching.

  • @Lemonhead86 cause they are bored i guess...lmao..ironic as all hell huh...

  • JJ wasn't cast very well.

  • this is some sick shit. i real shame.

  • It's sad how a person can take people's faith and twist it into something so grotesque.

  • @Soapbubble1

Yes. This is why most Atheists try to go against Christianity and other Religion nowadays.
