  • Some men are unfortunately one-dimensional beings and that's the reason why a lot of women in American media are viewed primarily as a sex-object and not a person with genuine feelings or thoughts. Women were never sex-objects and this whole "virgin complex" women is one of the various factors that play into the whole repression of women's sexuality. Women as a whole are indoctrinated to hold a high standard sexually in order to receive validation from their male counterparts and sadly women too

  • @Ichliebemusikundybd , when they demonstrate an interest in sex they are degraded and essentially thought to be sub-human, meanwhile men aren't held to the same esteem. They can be the term "man-whore" with little to no judgement from their peers, society as a whole is easier on male sexuality. Men are routinely encouraged by their friends to "bang" as many sluts as possible, notice I use the term slut. Well to a lot of men it's clearly acceptable to use a woman as a sperm dumpster and belittle

  • @Ichliebemusikundybd them at the same time, by doing this they can fall under a false notion of masculinity. When looking through the framework of the "man-whores" psychology you'll see it's all a game to them, sex is a sport not an activity two consenting parties take place in. Videos like these partly fuel the already growing fire in the hearts and souls of brainwashed people. I wish we could ban music like this, but I think it the real problem exists in the attitudes surrounding female

  • @Ichliebemusikundybd sexuality"

  • @Ichliebemusikundybd we need to change our perceptions on what makes a girl "worthy" of respect and also learn how to not treat sex like a game, but an act between two consenting adults. Sexual double standards are like a plague to the human mind, both men and women are affected deeply on a subconscious level, let's change the direction our society is taking one step at a time by valuing ourselves as more then a sheep waiting to follow any fad that hits the television screen. With love and light

  • rap doesn't objectify women. Women objectify themselves by continuing to be in the videos, and rapping and buying this "horrible" music.

  • u must be gay mothasucka, who doesn't like to see females shake there ass,and blondecurlsblueeyes, its just cus ur probly fat ass bitch that dont get no dick,

  • A sincere, heart-felt THANK YOU for making this video!

  • i love this!!

  • The problem with this video is that he is looking for morality in the jungle. He actually thinks platitudes are the laws of human behavior.

The reason moral platitudes exist is precisely because human beings are not moral animals. Humans are about fucking, power, and control.

  • I love how it's a guy talking about this. Thanks heaps.

  • i hate that anyone who disagrees with it is called a feminist.. just because they want that women would be treated fairly and not sexualized.. i hate mainstream music for that reason.. objectification of women is disgusting and these industries are vile and filthy.. down with the satanic music industry

  • @DarkprinX2500 Exactly. just because I want to be treated like a human being and a lady and not a whore doesn't mean I want to be the man of the house or take on a man's role. That's not feminism. That's just RESPECT.People are so damn brainwashed it's sickening..

  • @Machelle3200 Then start acting like it. Most people who say that are hypocrites themselves. It's how society is. Deal with it.

  • I have to say that for one, the women are at fault and are exploiting themselves. No one is pointing a gun to their heads telling them to dress in revealing clothes and dance around like the whores they are in these videos. It's all voluntary. BUT, it's what the people want. Since this world revolves around sex, rappers make a fortune off of constantly talking about it in their songs because people (unfortunately) are accustomed to and enjoy listening to this crap.

  • @AkatsukiLegend regardless whose at fault.. and i believe you can't blame just the women.. neither all men.... the cause is an idea .. and certain people who uphold it.. sexual liberalization is just another form of exploitation.. why do rappers make a fortune off of selling sex, drugs, and alchohol. it's because the culture in the West is where the poison stems from.. it's utterly misogynistic and immoral.. no wonder some of the highest rape stats in the world are in the West..

  • @DarkprinX2500 What I'm saying is, women are putting themselves in this situation.Women have already created the fire that caused the degradation they face today by dressing up the way they do and dancing with their fat asses in front of the TV screen, men (rappers), have just put a little more gasoline on it with their music and they keep the fire burning. You get what I'm saying?

  • @AkatsukiLegend some women. not all women.. probably not even most.. and yes they are partly to blame.. but you just don't get it .. this is much broader than that .. we can play the blame game all day . but it wont get us anywhere we need to focus on the root of the issue.. exploitation masked in the form of absolute freedom .. Western culture does not shun those rappers .. those rappers aren't a rogue element ..they are supported by the culture and people.. this is the problem

  • @DarkprinX2500 I see what you mean. That's just 21st century corruption for you. Yeah, women have been exploited long before, but it's getting worse as we progress in this century. Back then, it was considered immoral and not so lady-like for a woman to reveal so much skin (if any), now it's perfectly acceptable for a woman to walk almost completely nude down the street. But people are so used to the exploitation that it's practically apart of our culture.

  • Take that feminism

  • There is NOTHING wrong, of course, of truly appreciating the female body. However, the underlining problem is much deeper than people are actually willing to go. We tend to observe only the effects (effects that create other effects) instead of the cause(s). Western society is simply a "sex-sells" culture where men are programmed to be "chronic ejaculators" by being forced to conform to the cheap, materialist, and mechanical sex culture that the elite propagates relentlessly.

  • Too many young women are brought up without respect for themselves or their own bodies.

Too many lesser, instinctive men point at these victims of cultural decay and blame them for their own poor behavior as males.

The disease of cultural apathy, acceptance of vice and, in the end, mockery of virtues is what's preceded the fall of every civilization since the dawn of mankind. To anyone reading this, male or female, I ask you: Hold yourself and those around you to a higher standard than this.

  • @Kang5030 I agree, but on a more 'spiritual' level as Americans are completely fixated on the material. Modern civilization revolves around sex, especially of the "freaky", sadomasochistic variety. No love, intimacy, no creativity. Women's body are not seen something as divine, something truly beautiful, and tasteful but simply an image for a man to "blow his load" to. However, this has been engineered for a more sinister agenda that many of us are being blindly led into.

  • @CognitionPrime

    Woman body divine?

  • I agree with your video.

  • It's called freedom of speech. They can say what they want in their lyrics

  • @DullahanVII O yeah? And you promote that?! I mean its OK to be a hip hop artist and listen to that music but please have common sense. That is: Not everything you see is permissible.

  • @akawhippy No, I promote freedom of speech so go fuck yourself

  • @DullahanVII Just because you guys love emaciated, blonde, orangeskinned bitches with big fake boobs.

  • @akawhippy No, I'm a brunette kind of guy and an ass man. So once again, go fuck yourself.

  • @DullahanVII freedom of speech should be limited..

  • @DarkprinX2500 Then it wouldn't be called freedom of speech

  • @DullahanVII they should amend it then

  • @DullahanVII but their are boundaries

  • @DullahanVII if opinions and views are expressed in a way which deliberately causes offence if for example the views incite violence/intolerance/hatred to a group of people i.e.women then it is unacceptable.

  • @DullahanVII I hate black people, but it's ok because free speech.

  • @DullahanVII True, but you also have the right to be opposed to those lyrics. So please, stop bringing up freedom of speech everytime someone fucking says that they disagree with lyrics or what somebody says.

  • @AkatsukiLegend I`ll say that if I want, so go fuck yourself

  • @DullahanVII I'm not stopping you. I was voicing my opinion, so go cry about it, you little bitch.

  • @DullahanVII Freedom includes responsibility. Also, freedom of speech does not equal freedom from criticism. Plus, the critics have that same freedom of speech as well.

  • @KorvusKoraks zzzzz

  • @DullahanVII Empty head, empty head

  • And it's getting worse and worse...sad

  • if women didnt love money we wouldnt have this problem

  • @stitchmorg If women were never discouraged from working in many cultures, and in Western cultures, from working in aany industry they choose in the first place, there wouldn't be a number of them who rely on men to provide. But that doesn't justify misogyny - at all.

  • Your wrong about your anaylsis of the songs. Just thought you should know.

  • @cpilla2010 why was he wrong. He made several interesting points and I thought he perceived the lyrics well. Quite a bit of female artists also sing about using sex to get money from men. It's really sad, but I have to admit, these songs have nice tunes.

  • These 'men' are living lies acting like they can cruise on an aircraft carrier with 30 women its bullshit. MTV Cribs is fake, the music videos all have hired cars and hired models. At the end of the day objectification only bites us men in the back because so many women are brainwashed into being useless objects and so cheat when in relationships and getting pregnant at 13.

PS Nelly looks like an idiot how he gets any girls is beyond me. Oh no wait they're all sheep thats why.

  • academia and sexuality rarely understand one another.

but in blurb form these concise accusations are dramatically complex and accurate.

    (They aren't.)

The britney spears part is the closest I came to agreeing with what you've said.

  • Women don't care about being objectified. If they even cared then THEY WOULD STOP AUDITIONING for these music videos, no one forces them with a gun pointed at their head to be in these videos. This is evident even in Beyonce and Britney's videos THEY ARE WOMEN CONDONING OBJECTIFICATION OF WOMEN!

  • @ThatsMrTrollToYou Women aren't allowed to viewed as sexually attractive to males ESPECIALLY in club environments and club culture.

People drink alcohol and lower their inhibitions in order to groove at respectable distances from the sociopolitical identities they come into contact with in public houses. If we are to increase positive social interactions where the Woman is not viewed as sexually provocative I posit the possibility of using Disney-esque Public Service Announcements.

  • the eight ppl that voted this down r rapists O_O

  • narrator = white knight. still hasn't been laid for rehashing 35 year old ideas.

  • @murderbunnies Shut the fuck up,asshole.

  • @jjfjkfjk Nah.

  • and its got so much worse since 08

  • Men do what women allow them to do. If you don't respect yourself nobody will else will

  • @shawty2guttah

True, but we also need to educate women about the truth of these videos and lifestyles before the glamor branwashes them. We need to educate them before they learn the hard way.

  • We were glad to hear this calm and intelligent man's voice narrating this amazing video.

    Thank you, we appreciate it.

    Mom and Daughter

  • @evencool1 I could've used an intelligent woman's voice narrating this but maybe the producers felt that kind of tone wouldn't have encouraged a fair reception of the ideas, I applaud them for not wanting to make the first step.

  • @Zujfsn

perfect example of what is being pointed out: you are an idiot

  • Basically, all celebrities - male, female, whatever - are shit. I am so sick of music videos about sex. There are other things in the world, but apparently nobody can stop doing the nasty long enough to care

  • @BlondeCurlsBlueEyes Your opinion sickens me. Go read the bible.

  • A lot of spelling errors -- but a good video; right on point.

  • No one likes to be told how to think or act... but watch this.

good topic, but not handled well

  • hey can u give me for info about the movie? im writing a paper and id like to use it as a reference

  • the biggest enemy of women is other WOMEN.....look at the female artist like beyonce, britney, pussycat dolls, rihanna ..... those bitches are promoting this shit.......

  • this is not bullshit. anyone can tell, with logical thinking, that the woman today is treated like a sex object. its been like this for thousands of years and its getting worse. but im pleased that people are finally waking up. and of course some women likes to be treated this way, they dont know better. you get attention and feel special cause you can fill up the man's desire. i dont judge men, there's good men out there. but sometimes its shocking that men can stand up against this.

  • For thousands of years men have beaten and raped their way to the top of society. Its time for women to rise up and castrate the brutish thugs who oppress us.

  • @sugarpunkprincess I would love to live in a world where people take out the abuse committed or perceived to be committed on them on their children and their neighbourhood. Genital mutilation for both males and females. Equal rights for all. Its a long fight ahead of us and preventing human beings from experiencing pleasure is totally the radical approach we need to accomplish that goal.

  • Comment removed

  • Men see women as status symbols, they are taught to pursue sexual possession of women rather than equal loving relationships. Sometimes I doubt if men even feel 'love'.

  • ouch

  • @sugarpunkprincess maybe check out art. Probably a good way of gauging that sort of thing.

  • Actually, its the women who weild most of the power in real life. Most of these videos were made by male artists who are simply recreatihng their wet dreams. Walk in to a club anywhere in the world and you'll slobbering men drools over and worshipping sexy, scantily clad women who can command so much attention that a meer glance can have the boys scrambling to buy drink or whatever for them.

  • then men should just dress more revealing

  • Man your the One with The Pervert Mind Set...Like the group Envogue sanged; "I might wear a tight dress and high heels shoes, but that doesn't mean that I'm a prostitute,Naw Naw. But just Like an Asshole, everybody got one, that goes for opinion too. But Opinion are Not Always The Truth!

  • Man I don't know about U, there are Women of All Ethnicities that are very Beautiful and to Caputre that in means of expressions-not harming no one in the event-is a very Artistic. Just because U not Comfortable about your Sexuality doesn't hold True with Words of Ignorance!

  • 2:50 it's actually, change my pitch up. Smack my bitch up. I wouldn't say it's fair using a video that has never been on television to make your point against the mainstream.

  • I used to think it all in good fun until i realized that men seemed to be the only ones having the fun, and futher that it came at my expense. It makes me sick and sad and tired of this life. it is a shame that I am not ignorant as the rest who paint their lips, smile and shake their hips only to take their small part in perpetuating this.Maybe then I'd be happy. I can't even peruse magazine racks without some young girl's titts or ass in my face.

  • Nowadays it's often to see this kind of music videos, in spanish most of the videos of regueton or another are showing the women as a sexual object, and the mind of the young girls are believing this situation, it is ofensive to any women to hear this music and watch this images

  • I think the exploitation of violence and the objetificatiton of women as sex objet music videos and aims to promote and self certain kinds of music and videos by the way of the exploitation of the morbid on the sex away action of sexuality, not start thinking about results that this actions is produced and the desintegration of families especility integrate for young but the people besides this has a strong impact on the deterioration on the values, as love and solidarity.

  • In general the video only shows a little part in where have sexual violence. In the rest of video not exist sexual violence for me. In really I don't believe in the subliminal messages; I think that every thing is in your own mind.

  • I think always have existed discrimination toward the women but in this moment you can see in the videos to the women as object sexual but the problem aren´t men; the problem are the women who permit be treating this way. furthermore the world need to change the mind and begin to respect more the women but all the change to start in each women and the way them behavior because while the women dont change , the world never change

  • Nowadays unfortunately it´s common that the videos for young people use women like a sexual instrument for be famuos and to get money . The songs don't have any kind of message and only have erotic phrases without sense and in these videos women show that they have lost their dignity.

  • Well, is the reality in our times, the values and virtues has been losing, the woman is the sexual object for the sales, is necessary to change trought the censure.

  • all the videos show the women like a sexual object and only is for that use and other videos can be influence in the young girls for do the same that they see so it is too bad see how the women are denigrate and made that she look like a sexual object

  • i think that this videos show the women like sexual simbol or sexual obcjet and this cause a bad influence in the behavior of teenager.

  • being honest, I have not been interested in this subject, it is something that is needed to solve, later not to be sorry

  • This video shows the current reality of women being used as sex objects in the media and this situation is spreading to other countries in the world, I personally believe that women should value their dignity more than money he can win.

  • That´s is terrible, because in all the commercial business, musical videos, etc appear a women as a sexual object. but they use them as a mechanism to sell they products. I think women should´t be exposed to do this.

  • mrdouglas1702

I think that is diffult because is ugly but this is the real life and nobody can¨t stop this situation. Unfortunally like at people enjoy this videos, movies etc. the really is that all it is about the women always...

  • This is a problem very difficult to solve, I think. Because, there're many business where women are included like objects, something sure is that there are a lot of women who don't like that, but on the other hand, there're women who lives of that kind of job; and maybe some of these women enjoy doing some of those things.

  • I think women will continue taking part in many videos and other products like magazines, movies, etc, because it's a good business for the people that do the products. Sorry for women, but they are so beautiful.

  • Unfortunately in music videos, women have been treated like a sexual object or a sexual matter. I totally agree with the video, women shouln't be exposed in the way they are, I think that kind of videos should be censured!

  • I Think the music Videos are degarding to women and make it look like they are just sexual objects

  • This video shows how modern music videos are explicitly and subliminally sending messages that treating women like object and enacting violence and sexual abuse against them is acceptable. I believe this is perpetuating sexual violence and mistreatment of women in our society.

  • That`s exactly what I think. Most of the Young people who listen this music repeat the letter with out analyze it. May be the songs are not too good by them selves and they need to use the women to sell these songs. Actually the women don`t believe that we have to be slave . I appreciate this discussions . I hope this things contribute to change the young people`s mind

  • Women do not care if they expose their beautiful bodies for millions of people who watch these videos, you just want to make lots of money, they do not look like an object, but they like what they teach.

  • On the one hand many music videos send messages that treat women like and object but on the other hand many people watch those videos (women too). If women don't like to be treated like an object, start not to watch videos as those, and not to listen that music.

  • This is wrong! We have to teach our childrens that womens are not an object.

  • AT LAST!!!!

I find someone who FINALLY clearly shows the confusing messages our men and boys receive...

The Authorities tell our men and boys not to treat or regard women as objects, yet the Authorities don't ban images and words that promote & INCITE such objectification.

The legal system will brutally punish men and boys who have been incited into acts by such imagery, verbiage and music, YET THAT SAME LEGAL SYSTEM ALLOWS SUCH IMAGERY VERBIAGE AND MUSIC TO FLOURISH!

    Continued...

  • Feminists: I'm a woman! I say WAKE UP! Kick the system where it matters. Stop kicking our men+boys after such imagery+song words drive our men and boys2regard+touch women as objects. Don't u Feminists have men+boys as boyfriends, husbands, sons etc? I guess u DON'T---because u r regarded as ugly and/or old BUT IT'S THE SAME MEDIA THAT SETS WHAT IS SEEN AS DESIRABLE!

Get off your lonely arses, u femiNAZI bitches; clear the rage at your own loneliness & THINK+ACT SENSIBLY.

    Damn Femi-NUTSIES!

  • wow! do I agree 100% and I have been saying the same thing for years! My daughter is someone to be protected and valued, not because she is pretty or sexual but because she is a child and someday to become a woman, not an OBJECT!

  • Great video, thanks for uploading Rancid0426!

  • to do what they please, if they enjoy sex an acting provocatively, its really condescending to label them as some sort of victim because of it.

  • intensely, and you're in no position to say that their definition of their own song is incorrect. Not to mention the fact that in the music video, the faceless person creating all of the havoc is revealed in the end to be a woman. Plus, all I see in the majority of those videos, especially 'Hot In Herre', he and the girl are sexually attracted to one another. Thats fairly normal. Sure the next performer says a couple of misogynistic things, but he's just an idiot. Also, women should be entitled

  • 'The increasing number and intensity of these sexually explicit music videos is a definite contributor to this trend'

Proof please. If that isn't documented by any kind of evidence that you can supply, you have no argument, you can speculate all you wish. Secondly, the only video you provided that supposedly advocates 'sexual violence' toward women was 'Smack My Bitch Up' by The Prodigy. The lyrics are actually 'change my pitch up, smack my bitch up, and it the lyrics refer to doing anything

  • i dont think the brotney song was about her literally being a 'slave' in anyway (tho being a modern pop song targeting kids from ages 5-10, its only natural its gonna be sexually provocative!)

I think its saying that she'd do anything for the person shes singing to, in the same way lots of songs sung by men say the same thing

On another note ... what the fuck happened to Nelly??havent seen that idiot in years!!!

oh, and Buck Cherry & Motley Crue are 2 of the worst rock bands in all of history

  • it's all lustttt

    lust is a sin

    DO THEY CARE

    HELL NO

  • Great Commentary on the media's objectification of women. The mere slogan that "sex sells" does not justify the means by which these hip-hop artist /Corporations sell their product to the public. Though music videos are still being produced, their era in pop culture is slowly coming to a halt.

  • fairly in agreement with the hip-hop videos but in the Smack My Bitch Up video...The Prodigy switched the stereotype and the video is actually shot from a girls perspective.

  • your a child and this comment show it.

  • you should get an abortion after she is knocked up just to do it and then youl be my hero:)

  • why do all good videos always have less views?! could it be that the world is DUMB???

  • not to sound like a pig, but facts are facts and you are correct. now if you will excuse me, this 35 year old is going to objectify and knock up his 23 year old fiance ;)

  • the problem is that almost all female artists make even larger sexual statements than men and this in the end is what does the most damage, with people seeing women objectifying themselves and making it more acceptable. also there is a big market for x-rated music videos which range from some hinted nudity in an Avril vid to full on nudity and lesbian sex in Buck Cherry's 'Crazy Bitch' (My bother is a lawyer who specialises in representing women in sexual misconduct cases)

  • @guppyninja Have you not noticed that in some of Britney Spears and others music videos guys are being treated like this too. Search Kesha blah blah blah

  • @XxKINGCABOOSExX yeah I have, the difference is that I was commenting on a video about the objectification of women in music videos. and that's a different thing to my comment ayway because it's not a male artist objectifying himself, where my comment was about a female artist objectifying herself

  • @guppyninja These women have grown up in a culture that teaches them that their bodies are worth more than their brains, ergo they can sell is their bodies. There's never a shortage of men who want to gorp and touch and leer, so women not taught to define themselves rather than be defined by men will buy in to that objectification, and so the cycle continues. So women raising their daughters need to wise-up; but so do men who only see women as existing for sex and not much else.

  • i agree that women too are to blame coz theyre the ones who agree to act provocatively to entertain the men.

  • wait is that bad or good?

  • wow mcgreasy you really convinced me with your amazing argument.

i think i can guess your gender.

though it was pretty refreshing that this was made by a man. thank you. important message.

  • lies people are ignorent if the girl is hot and half naked it will attract immature people who like said ganera thus no matter wht you say people will buy the cds...sex sells so your opinon dont matter just die

  • I don't think anybody will be buying any of the songs in this video after watching the video.

  • Thank you for posting this. It is our culture to degrade and objectify women, and it is precisely because of the perpetuation of degrading images of women that this treatment will persist. This must change. It's unbelievable that women have fought so hard for decades for equal rights, but have so far to go to achieve them. Let's work toward equal rights for all... everyone, regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, or gender. We have the power to bring about true change, so let's do it!

  • @ipotter9 You know what? I think that this crazy phenomenon of objectification towards us women is dissapearing or its not as much anymore. No wonder they don't make any sexist ads, commercials or advertisements. Nowadays the problem is about racial discrimination. Today the prejudice is towards illegal aliens.

  • The immaturity in some of these comments is just breathtaking.

Hello? There is an important message here.

  • yes, but we like to do that, quit hating and go get laid

  • this should be put on global televison. translated in all languages.

  • did any one notice a green screen ... in certains parts of the video

  • such a great video.

  • Very good video; academic, which is kind of hard to find around youtube.

    And very good points too.

  • did you saw the new Britney video Womanizer?? this are lots of sexual violence in it. an it shows womens as "feminist"

  • thanks :) this video is really good!

  • You're an idiot. It's a culture, and it's also the people who hire them.

  • I must be. But then again YOU must be a bright young woman who kicks ass. Sorry lady.

    I've been around. Have you?

  • Damn straight.

  • Ugh. Ever hear about the stuff that happens backstage at video shoots? If you don't wear what they tell you too, you don't work. It's like that with a lot of things, really. Besides, vast generalizations like that are always dangerous. Part of feminism is recognizing women as individuals. I cover up, do I invite objectification?

  • Women are not being forced to show their whored assed Vaginas on TV,they offer themselves to be degraded.why should they bitch around about being treated like sex objects when they act like them!!I have a female friend who was asked to show her ass in a music video, and she completely refused!!If u agree to be a slut bitch whore on TV then than be prepared to be called a bitch!!

  • Very well done! Thank you so much for your excellent work. Much appreciated. :-)

  • I loved this video, especially the fact you examined sexism in all kinds of popular music videos, instead of concentrating on rap like so many people do. But I think it couldn't have hurt much to mention that the person committing all the sexist acts in "Smack My Bitch Up" is shown to be a woman (after all it doesn't take much away from your point, as this was supposed to be a shocking reveal it shows how ingrained the expectation is that the perpetrator will be male).

  • Absolutely brilliant. This was done very tastefully - rather than pointing the finger at people, you've simply used what's there to make us all think. Thank you!

  • You are not just a hat rack my friend! Please spread your message on because I believe you have made the connection between the media's actions and the people's actions.

  • Thank you for this video. This is an American pandemic that must be stopped.

  • im am glad that someone included ms b...she is one of the worst offenders of this.. i just pray that we can become deprogramed of all of this nonsense brainwashing

  • Thank you so much for this video. i wish more people would watch this.

  • Great video. If you like this you should see the documentary Hip Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes. I think these men must feel incredibly insecure about thier masculinty if they have to have many women dancing around them to demonstrate how much of a man they are

  • Incredibly well-produced and thought-provoking! Thanks for assembling this important montage of music videos, providing the lyrics, and tying it together in a way that really makes people think. I hope many more people can see this!

  • good video

  • very sad
