  • The graphics aren't as good as the first, but the music is better.

  • Its still A VERY GOOD GAME, But Just like Streets Of Rage 3, Its not as good as its processor (last game)

  • @SNESosT "Predecessor" ;)

  • @daystilljersey well you know what I meant

  • You weren't supposed to skip the Intro Stage. You needed to play the Intro Stage and defeat Axel Gear, then (without pressing Start at any time) grab the first hidden sword in that pedestal area.

Folks, Sparkster and Sonic are two different characters. Sonic the Hedgehog was made by SEGA and Sparkster the Hamster was made by KONAMI.

  • @xHEDGEHOGMAN1x

    Sparkster's an opossum buddy.

  • @wesker100000000 He looks like a hamster to me, hence his name almost.

  • its funny how the snes version reminds me more of the original than this does

  • I owned and beat RKA1 & 2 on the toughest difficulties.

    1. RKA 1 was tougher that's a fact.

    2. Sparkster IS RKA's sequel(ret*rd who said it wasn't that you are!)

    3. Sparkster is not Sonic.

    4. The sound QUALITY was WAY better in this game, and the graphics too, so for all of you who think the first looks better...what kinda crack are you ON!? I want some! Seriously, you're f*cked if you think RKA's graphics are better than Sparkster's.

  • @AbyssianOne Yeah, the graphics from ROCKET KNIGHT ADVENTURES are not as good as the graphics in this sequel.

  • I NEVER knew they made a sequel to this game. But why does the sequel look like crap compared to the first's graphics?

  • @Mcheetah They actually have a new game out, which is a revived version of Rocket Knight. It can be bought on Steam, Playstation Network, or Xbox Live Arcade, and it looks amazing.

  • Awful quality is awful :/

And i liked more th RocketKnight games from the Genesis, the SNES is meh.

  • @SpartanUnDead This is the Genesis game. Rocket Knight was for the SNES

  • Looks like a Game Gear game :/

  • oh man, not that i didn't like the new one. But would of loved it if they just ported this to PSN or Xbox Live

  • I think I like this design better

  • 5:35 that boss is stupid and dumb it just dumb that boss is a nerd -.-

  • Wow. This is a lot longer than the first stage of the Super NES version. Look less pretty and the music is less awesome though. I'll have to track it down when I finally get around to picking up a Mega Drive.

  • Even though he's a possum, Sparkster looks like my Pomeranian chihuahua

  • Look at sparkster face , damn is he pissed , someone took a poop on his shoes xD

  • I dont know why people are so upset about this game. Well I do agree it doesnt have quite the charm of the first, it still pretty damn good.

  • I like the music of this one the most ^^

Sure it's not the better game.

  • I never did play this game didn't no it was even out at the time when I was a kid lol all well

  • Seems like it went downhill from the first game.

  • Se ve simpatico el juego, aunque quizás demasiado colorido

  • the original genesis game looked and sounded much better, but that's just my opinion.

  • I personally like the original better the sequel thats just me though

  • 7:38 It's just like the Terra Tubes in Battletoads!

  • This is the best game of all time

  • I loved this version SO much more then the SNES version. Just seemed more open and free to roam in this one.

  • it looks good for an old game . good sound tho an graphics

  • just letting you know., "Kega Lazarus SE r5" is a better emulator than Gens. sure you have to edit it a bit. and it's not as user friendly. but once you edit it to perfection. it's a far grander emulator... it's just not as user friendly :P I used to use Gens. I just assumed it was best because it was the most recent updated. but then I realized that they didn't update the Kega Lazarus SE r5. because there was no need to. it's just like an actual Genesis to perfection. once you edit it a bit.

  • Just take a look at Kega Fusion, it continues where Lazarus left off.

  • I liked the character design of Sparkster from the original game. He looked more like a knight in the original.

It would be nice if Konami made a new Rocket Knight game or remake the original Rocket Knight Adventures.

  • they're doing it already

  • Really? When did Konami announce that, because I didn't hear anything about it?

  • Zeohawk, type in Rocket Knight 2010, and watch the results :)

  • OMG Joygasm!

  • There is, one is coming out for PS3, 360, and steam.

  • @Zeohawk they did just recently. Its on the PSN and XBL store... and Steam but check it out though!

  • Maybe its me, but when i played it it felt more like a sonic game, the first one owned tho

  • i agree the first was far better from this one

  • I love the first 1 and the second game wasnt as great as the first 1.

  • you know maybe it was just me but the sequel was pretty bad.

  • great stage 1 music

  • I'll have to try this game sometime. It looks and plays TOTALLY different from the SNES version (I've played RKA on the Genesis before, and I own Sparkster for the SNES).

  • the snes version is wayyyyy better

  • I think Sparkster is superior in every way including graphically to the already great RKA. What really sets it apart though is the refined and incredible gameplay.

  • Tbh I preferred this to the original. but then, I played this first. Got it for my birthday and made sure I got the prequel for Xmas :D

  • The original looks prettier. What happened?

  • @burningface Bad video compression. That's what happened. Bad emulation I also see, some of the stereo sound is missing.

  • @burningface Both are awesome.

  • Holy shit!

I remember this from when I was probably 3 or 4 years old. I rented it one day, then totally forgot the name.

    Insane.

  • Doesnt have the same feel and character as the first one, but this was still a great game. In my opinion its way better than the snes onemusical instrument level? Wtf.

  • mmm this game dont look as gud as 1st one?anyone recomend any awesome mega drive game worth playn?cheers

  • i'm looking for a mega drive game quite similar to this one. it was quite strange...the only thing i remember it's that the intro was playable. there were this two foxes or what else figthing using big robots... so..a fox..probably with a sword like this one...maybe he could fly. and robots.

  • "Rocket Knight Adventures" is what you're looking for, and he's a mouse.

  • he's actually an opossum!

  • well...I was close...ish... >_>

  • actually that sounds like this game. he just skipped the first bit.

  • Holy crap that was all 1 stage?!!?

  • This game was the best in the series. Rocket flight felt much better and more natural than in the other two games. It was actually possible to stay in the air constantly, which is great. It's nice to see a platforming action game actually implement flight in such a way, without it totally unbalancing the game. There's even some bosses where the best way to fight them is to fly constantly and never touch the ground.

  • I know what you mean, I really hate this game too, compared to 1 it's shit, everything it much more bright, which ruins the feeling that RKA had, the sprites are larger to give more detail, but it ruins the ambiance since there's not much onscreen.

    RKA was TONS better!

  • I really didnt think it was very similar to sonic tho...

  • I guess it's mostly because of the bad ass look and attitude. It's actually funny but if you compare the American cover of RKA with the European cover, he has a bad ass face like he's tough, but the European version he has a smile and doesn't look like that Sonicky bad ass style. i think the charm of Sparkster in RKA was that he was different, cute but he's a gentleman and honorable. which is different from Sonic. the othat 2 games adopted that Sonic style : \

  • Too bad it had a sequel... Still, I know how you feel. I feel the same. Hopefully, the SNES version of Sparkster is far more superior than this one. And yet again, RKA's charm shall never be matched.

  • Looks like this runs on the emulator Sonic was made on, sounds like it too

  • How are you supposed to beat the train boss without taking so many hits like that?

  • Not sure why I'm replying to an 11 month old comment :)

Basically, you can diagonally boost into the weak spot, and the bounce takes you away from danger, repeatedly do this in mid air and if you do it right you rarely take any hits at all.

  • I loved this game, spent a lot of time playing it

  • hey did you play Rocket Knight Adventures 1?

  • It is strange though ... the graphics, sound and gameplay took a step back rather than forward with this game.

  • I agree on the graphics, but I think the sound and gameplay were still pretty good. Rocket boosting in this game felt a lot more natural to use, and I think the music was still nice. I'll agree with ya on sound effects though.

It's not an amazing sequel, but I think it has its perks, and in some ways I found it more challenging than the first one. Some franchises could only dream of having a sequel that was at least this decent.

  • And you forgot almost all secrets to :P

  • The game wasn't bad. It was one of the first games I ever had. Loved it.

  • why are all the awsome characters gone and all the CRAP SACK STILL here!!!! i mean sparkster is amazing.

  • Man o man I think this is a terrible sequel. What happened to the great graphics? The cloned background looks bad and the enemies stupid. I think they tried to slicken the fighting and jetpacking, but forgot the essence of the game itself. Thank God I never knew this game existed.

  • @quebex

Grow up please and respect other people opinions. You don't look any older than 6 years old with this comment.

  • thats what i thought

i play the first an thought it was great then i heard there was sequel an downloaded it only to find out it was a load of crap

  • what are you playing this on emulator or using a capture card?

  • did you ever play Rocket Knights 1?

  • Damn I miss this game....i remember when i first beat it....I never found all 7 of those secret swords though

  • Did you miss the one during the demo (where you fight Axle while trying to get that sword) at the beginning? That's the one I always missed until one day I played the demo then the game all the way and got the real ending.

  • lol yeah i always skipped that....i always wondered why i always got six swords.

  • LOL. Yeah, I was the same way.

  • Let's try the very hard mode in it levels are longer and has more bosses

  • YES! an actual walkthrough!

  • Oh *cough* Forgot some more. Fun game! I don't like that Garden (laugh) and I'm sure...thre's a safer way to kill that train boss but I can't remember? Is there?

  • It is a nice Game.

But the Orginal Rocket Knigth Adventures was better.

And Yes the SNES Sparkster (Same Name Different Game) was better too

  • but why is the first one better?

  • Yes it is and much harder the backgrounds are much more nicer

only thing good on this game is Sparkster's new look.

  • Who could forget this game! I first played it when i was 4

  • I love sparkster, I hope konami makes another rocket kknight adventures game soon!

  • RKA is one of the most best 2D games ever made I'm happy sparkster is coming back this year.

  • This game is pretty cool.

  • oh i love this game! lol. sparkster is so cool! (reminds me of my old days in gaming)

  • I love 16 bit games... that is a classic

  • damn now i have another game to play XD

  • Konami has always to me made great or descent games to play. 5/5 stars for the old school touch....

  • Looks fun for a Sonic clone. I remember playing the first one.
