I have been offered a Poly-800 as a trade towards a speaker I have and, though I know nothing about keyboards or synths, (Heart & Soul and Chopsticks), I am seriously considering the trade now that I have heard your demo. The best I have seen!
This demo has got me wishing I'd kept my Poly 800. It, like many other early synths (DW6000/6000, Roland's Juno series, etcera), still lives and breathes. Nothing cheesy about it's sounds at all...depends on how you use them and you've demonstrated that quite well. In fact, I'd say thatit's not always the synth that is cheesy, but often how it is used, or the performance itself. Good excuse for a so so performance...cheesy synth.
Nothing chessy here, synth or performance. Thumbs up to both!
Woah, that's a 707? Quite a step up from a 505. I always thought it to be just a notch better, but not like this. Sounds like you're pretty good at mixing. Did that have anything to do with it?
Also for everything being generally raw this is excellently composed. Not really cheesy sounding despite nothing surpassing 1990 here. I'm loving it.
Funky Stuff... hopefully will be getting the rackmount version of the poly-800 this weekend for extremely cheap!!! Well Drone!

Love the flat and compressed sound of the 707. What effect chain are you using on the drums?

The poly 800 is unbelievable, sometimes you can create the best basslines just by starting random step sequences.

I'm assuming it's a phaser. I really need to buy a hardware phaser :(
No idea what to look for though. Would guitar phasers be decent or go for a rack effect?
Jordo54321 2 years ago
How did you do that effect at 1:00 ?
Is that a phaser or a low pass on an slow lfo time or something? I love that effect
Jordo54321 2 years ago
Fantastic!
Everybody need Poly 800! :-)
