I am a Reg Respiratory Therapist, seven years ago I started having pain in my right lower floating rib and it spread to all the rib cage and left ribs, plus spinal pain, which is now 24/7. I am disabled and forced to give up all my daily activities. I can stand for 5 minutes, walk 60 feet and it ruins my day, I spend most of my time sitting. I have been to 4 spinal specialists, and eventually labled with Shoermanns Disease. Could CRT help me?
@rufusjam Absolutely! Recieve chiropractic spinal adjustments to address Shuermanns Disease. As you are aware, the ribs run from the sternum to the vewrtebrae. Spinal distortions will cause torque upon the costo-vertebral junctions= inflammation=Shuermanns Disease.
I am in the middle of active release technique and am very happy with the results. My response however, to the first post, is that this is a fairly new technique, and giving credit to physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture etc., has just begun, whereas in the past it has been seen with great skepticism until results have proven the benefits. So I say that is is because this is a fairly new technique that not everyone is using it. It WILL become more popular, there is no doubt.
If this technique actually releases all fascial restrictions in the body, aligns the spine and pelvis, balances brain activity, etc. Why wouldn't every practitioner use it exclusively? Why do most of your practitioners use it as an "add-on"? Something that powerful!? That doesn't sound right.
I am a massage therapist for the past 19 years and I have seen a lot of alternative therapies in my career. Since being introduced to this technique and having benefited first hand, I am truley amazed with the healing power that this technique offers....All I can say is WOW!
Although CRT is not a treatment for Scheuermann's disease, I know of many patients who have reported relief utilizing CRT.
Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.

That's a great point Sharki91, I can't control how practitioners choose to practice. I'm just happy they're using it!
Thanks for the comment.
Sincerely,
Dr. Doreste
