(continue) protecting the bush administration against torture and also the prolonged war on iraq are much bigger issues that should interest you, if by all means your philosophical approach to matters that sometimes must be solved in both practical and philosophical terms, instead of just philosophical terms, stays consistent. you are attacking a man but not discussing the positive reforms his policies would bring.

Competition and desire to have a good quality of life are not the problem. The problem is the perverse incentives and removal of natural free-market barriers that would otherwise deter the risks and over-extensions caused by those desires.
Competition and desire to have a good quality of life are not the problem.
Sure lets dismantle the entire law enforcement agencies and the military and let the private enterprises take over the job of law enforcement and the military just like in Somalia.
We need a whole lot of private security companies like Blackwater to do the job of law enforcement and the military.
Now you're talking! 90% of what "law enforcement" does is enforce malum prohibitum (crimes of violation of pure edict) instead of prevent malum inse (crimes of harm to others). I'm not suggesting "turning over" any function to anybody that goes beyond punishment of true crimes with actual victims. I think you'd be suprised to know the extent to which private companies ALREADY run our law enforcement and prison enterprises through fascist corporatist enterprises. These should be...
done away with, and you totally assumed I wanted such partnerships which are already in place and running the system now. That was a bad assumption. I want the government rolled back and involved in only what is Constitutional (a tiny fraction of what it does now) and I want NOTHING to fill the void. That's freedom.
I was in Brazil in 1990 and I saw the 1000 Cruzado notes blowing down the streets because they were worthless. I still have some of them...kinda pretty.

it's hilarious that now Faux "News" has Ron Paul all up in there. Like they would have locked him up in Gitmo during the Republican Primary if they could have.
FOXnews is using Ron Paul now that the GOP is down, but they used to make fun of him for these same comments he's making now. People paying attention to politics now don't know that but they will see it again as soon as Ron Paul becomes a threat to any of the GOP candidates supported by FOXnews.

apparently you've never heard his explanation: it's like a tax refund-- by returning funds to his district, he is, in essence, providing a tax refund to all those who provide all their hard earned money to a government that wants to spend it overseas and on welfare recipients. Likewise, there is the argument that if not for earmarks, the executive branch gets to spend the money how *they* see fit. As such, the congress can control who gets the money, instead of the executive, by way of earmarks.
He votes against the bill, but does put earmarks for his district in the bill so that his constituents will get their piece of the pie. Their taxes are being taken from the government, they should be able to get some of it back. Ron Paul wants to change the system.
Because most of these bills should not be passed at all. But if others are going to pass it since Paul has but one vote then why not get some of that money back for the people you work for? Even you can't be that stupid.
First the congress passes the budget. That determines how much spending their will be. Then congress passes an appropriations bill, that's where all the earmarks come from.
If the Congress doesn't allocate where the money goes with an earmark, then the executive branch gets to decide where to spend it. No money is saved by letting the executive branch decide how to spend it.
Ron Paul, who doesn't believe their money should have been taken at all, allows his constituents to ask for it back.
He is against taking the money via income tax. And he is against spending the money unconstitutionally.
But if the government is going to take the money, then he feels it's his DUTY as their REPRESENTATIVE to let his constituents ask for their money back.
Meanwhile, he votes against taking their money in the first place. And he votes against spending their money unconstitutionally.
Stephen, you are as clear as water. If Voodoo doesn't understand Ron Paul's views on earmarks after this explanation then we are going to have to declare him mentally challenged.
I can accept an opposite ideology as long as it has logic and proof of success in its history, we really can't even tell if you have an ideology.. all you do is ask the same retarded questions after being given very clear explanations, you just have something against Ron Paul, that is clear to all of us.
As far as being mentally challenged, I think most of us on this particular page have come to see that the only "challenged" person here is you.

All I can tell you is I absolutely hate Ron Paul's ideology and his desperate attempt to turn this nation into Somalia-like libertarian society.
Well dreaming of becoming the president of the US by winning less than 5% of Republican Party voters (the party that has shrunk greatly) is no less than proving oneself a mentally challenged. Following such a clown leader is another proof of such a mental disability.
The real mental disability is shown by someone (you) who spends hours of his day spamming youtube videos where a political character with only 5% support (as you say) is expressing his points of view.
Since Ron Paul has such minimal impact with only 5% of the votes then only the REAL mentaly retarded could spend time trying to discredit and trash someone with (once again) minimal impact in the political arena.
I will continue to Campaigning for Liberty and you can continue your spamming.
by the way I do watch Ron Paul on Cable every now and then because it is very entertaining to watch him clowning around and to hear him tell his next conspiracy theories like "NAFTA Superhighway", "9/11 was an inside job", "End the Fed", "Get rid of 80% of US govt departments", "he wont pee because the Constitution does not give him authority to pee" etc
Turns out I was not the only one to regard him as a psycho clown. He was on "Psycho Talk" segment of Ed Shultz's show on MSNBC yesterday
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I know he had to back down from his view "9/11 was an inside job". He made it clear during FOX debates in the presidential primaries only after coming under intense pressure. Otherwise he would have proved himself the biggest clown among other lesser clowns like Huckabee, Giuliani, Thomson etc
I guess the Constitution gives you the supreme authority to delegate who is a true American and who is not.
Ron Paul is on the right side of the historical argument. Keynes was a scam, the Federal Reserve is a scam, Wall St. is a scam and Democrats and Republicans are owned by the bankers who are destroying the US intentionally. Liberty is truth and you have no in you.
He never said 9/11 was an inside job. He said he wanted a new investigation and since bin Laden has been charged with nothing related to 9/11, an investigation seems reasonable. But since you probably work for the people who engineered the attacks, whether you know it or not, this is irrelevant to you
(1) The Federal Reserve is a private, for profit bank whose policies led to the collapse of the US (2) The NAFTA superhighway plan is a matter of public record (3) Tell me one long-term success of the US Department of Education that couldn't be done at the state and local level. (4) Why has Osama bin Laden been charged with nothing related to 9/11on the Department of Justice website? (5) What caused Building 7 to collapse? 6) Why is the Constitution so insignificant to you? The devil owns you

I looked at his voting record...man this guy know show to vote "NO" on almost any legislation. This guy votes "NO" on about 85% of the bills. I guess he is a true "do nothing" libertarian.
Voodoo, just nevermind, really. Trying to explain Liberty (social and economic) and its ramifications is like trying to explain Trigonometry to an ape, pointless.
Being anti-Ron Paul means I oppose the agendas promoted by neo-Nazis working for Ron Paul like Randy Gray (Ron Paul's Michigan fundraiser during last presidential primaries), Another neo-Nazi David Duke, one of Ron Paul's early endorser who got expelled from Czech Republic for Holocaust denial. Neo-Nazi Don Black , a white supremacist who personally offered money to Ron Paul and when media asked about the money Ron Paul told that he wont return the money.
The Rockefellers finances the communists in the Vietnam War and Prescott Bush financed the Nazis. Rejecting Zionism is not Anti-Semitic: in fact it will save the lives of Jews who are nothing but usable pawns to the banking Zionists who are controlled by Satan.
He is one of the most important politicians in the world and you know it. Otherwise why are you chatting here about a do nothing? Do the Rotschilds and Rockefellers pay you to be a troll or what?
The real terrorists are the Federal Reserve bankers and the Bilderberg Group. But since they are paying you to troll most likely, why bother telling you? THOSE WHO REJECT THE CONSTITUTION FOR GLOBAL GOVERNMENT ARE TERRORISTS AND THEY WILL LOSE--JESUS DEFEATED SATAN--DEAL WITH IT
Who pays you? Ted Turner? Have you met Larry Summers yourself? Maybe some day you can kiss the boots of Lord de Rothschild himself while you pay your Carbon Tax to him. You are controlled by dark forces. Be gone, Satan!
earmarks are just "marking" the money that is already GOING to be spent by the government. If It didn't get earmarked for the things Paul wants for his constituents then it's going to get spent on other things. That would make him derelict in his duties if he didn't mark money for the things his constituents wanted. Don't get mad at Paul because you don't understand what earmarks are.
He doesn't approve of the system, that's why he votes against it.
Nevertheless, the system exists. So he REPRESENTS his constituents through the system.
Not doing so would not cut waste, it would only let someone else waste his taxpayers' dollars. And his constituents would be left without any representation.
You keep asking the same stupid questions but in slightly different ways?
Why load a bill with earmarks and let it fail by voting against it ?
Because voting against a spending bill is the right thing to do but if it's going to pass then you might as well work for your constituents. It really seems simple and logical. But logic doesnt appear to be your strong suit.
Why do you seem so thick? First of all what bill are you talking about? Second, voting no also helps his voters by not spending money the government doesn't have in the first place. Is there a certain bill you have in mind? Probably not. And there are 435 US congressmen. Tell me what other congressmen you have written about and complained about earmarks on? What video can you show that proves you've made comments on and that you're not just against Ron Paul in general? I'll wait!!!

There are many Congressmen/women who are engage in such deceptive tactics to try to fool people around the country. It is not practical for me to take on everyone but I can certainly take on some of the most troublesome Congressmen
In my view Ron Paul.happens to be the worst culprit of all. Apart from his earmarks some of the bills he introduced like 'allowing distribution of unpasteurized milk' seems very troubling indeed. It makes mockery of established science in the area of public health
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It's like saying he is against bank robbery but when someone else offers a portion of the loot he wont reject it and still claim how hard he spoke against the act of bank robbery.
his been voting the same way sense he got in congress, if the constitution dosen't allow it, he votes NO that simple,.Dont try to blame him because he voted on principle, and others dont.
Well unlike you he is not a retard. He can't change the system. Why he put the earmarks? well people in his district still pay taxes, is not like he can lower taxes in his district alone to make up for it.
So he votes NO, but he knows how corrupted congress is an knows the bill will pass, so he adds yearmarks because people in his district pay taxes like everyone else.
If he was President he would lower taxes instead. Is called comon sense, get some and stop the spam.
Earmarks provide a way to delegate money for specific tasks. Without this the money is put into the hands of the federal government. While I do see there have been some abuses of earmarks ultimately taking away the ability of our congress men and women to delegate money undermines a states rights. I do not trust the federal government to act in my states interest as much as my own elected representatives
I just looked at your channel. You ARE obsessed with Ron Paul. Ron Paul IS dangerous to you because HE is correct and YOU are wrong and that makes him a serious threat to you. Someday you will learn that he is on your side and is one of the only honest politicians in government currently. Once these buffoons in office finish destroying the country you will wish there were more Ron Paul's to save us. These guys are going to ruin America and blame it on something or someone else. You'll see.
He calls it 'theft' in the sense the the Government has been withholding his money from him for the past 55 years. But the fact still remains that his Social Security pension is in fact HIS MONEY.
It would be extremely illogical, morals or not, to not accept what is already his.
yes, you are right, the roads and the highways which he drives on repair itself (for the las 55 years) . All the cops and firefighters are doing their job for free f(or the last 55 years).
So he wants all the government services for free in addition to his 'theft' benefit ?
What hell are you talking about. Social Security is but one portion of taxes you pay every year. Ron Paul is against paying that portion not against paying taxes all together.
Listen dunce. Social security is not a welfare program. It's a mandated INSURANCE program. Everyone pays in to it, and you get some of your money back.
Listen dunce. Cops and firefighters are paid for locally, not through the federal income tax which Paul opposes.
Every year he gives money back from is congresional pay. As a Doctor, Paul treated people for free. He served his country in the military. So he had to pay SS for 55 years and now he gets it. Whats your point? Hes done way more for his country that you will ever do. Stop hating troll.
So Libertarianism cannot exist in any other country because other countries never had the US Constitution as their supreme law....is that what you are saying ?
So then by your own admission, there must be differences between Libertarians that believe in the rule of law and The US Constitution and The Anarchists Libertarians that don't want any law so they pretty much don't have any. To lump those two different groups as the same, shows in brilliant lights, either your ignorance or prejudice.
I had no clue Somalia is a libertarian dreamland but Mises Institute is suggesting it is. I have to believe what Mises Institute is suggesting (bragging about) must not be false.
But you still admitted that there are certainly differences in Libertarians that believe in the rule of law and The Contitution and the ones that don't.
It's OK!!!!
I understand now and have the answer to my question. It's certainly not Ignorance since you know there's differences, so my answer is PREDJUDICE.
I admitted that I dont know much about Somali's libertarian society but since the Mises Institute is bragging about it I have believe what they are telling must be true.

you raise some very interesting rhetorical questions, but they have been answered by both ron paul and his supporters (many of whom are simply quoting what ron paul said). you now have your response, what you make of it is your business. i'm not into drawing comparisons from bad examples to "make out the worse person".. but if you are interested in such fruitless debate, i believe obama's "hypocrisy" in his promotion of government transparency and his recent statements (continue)

Why not follow the Libertarian society of Somalia as suggested my Mises Institute?
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
The willingness of some Americans to sacrifice time, family, and quality of life to have more of everything pressed the American middle class. They faced a moral dilemma. Keep up with the Jones's, or allow yourself and your family to be ridiculed or labeled lazy for failing to pursue the New American Dream: Wealth, Wealth, and Happiness.

Competition and desire to have a good quality of life are not the problem. The problem is the perverse incentives and removal of natural free-market barriers that would otherwise deter the risks and over-extensions caused by those desires.

Sure lets dismantle the entire law enforcement agencies and the military and let the private enterprises take over the job of law enforcement and the military just like in Somalia.
We need a whole lot of private security companies like Blackwater to do the job of law enforcement and the military.
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
Now you're talking! 90% of what "law enforcement" does is enforce malum prohibitum (crimes of violation of pure edict) instead of prevent malum inse (crimes of harm to others). I'm not suggesting "turning over" any function to anybody that goes beyond punishment of true crimes with actual victims. I think you'd be suprised to know the extent to which private companies ALREADY run our law enforcement and prison enterprises through fascist corporatist enterprises. These should be...

400 million dollars in earmarks in one year for his congressional district....that is the way to keep the printing press humming
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
He wouldn't be a very good congressman or help his cause much if he didn't fight to take back what was taken from the people he represents.
weggingt 2 years ago
apparently you've never heard his explanation: it's like a tax refund-- by returning funds to his district, he is, in essence, providing a tax refund to all those who provide all their hard earned money to a government that wants to spend it overseas and on welfare recipients. Likewise, there is the argument that if not for earmarks, the executive branch gets to spend the money how *they* see fit. As such, the congress can control who gets the money, instead of the executive, by way of earmarks.
ndfootballch 2 years ago 4
If it is ok for him to spend money on his earmarks...why the hell is he so against government spending.
I presume Congress is one of the three branches of the government. I presume he is a member of one of those three branches of the government.
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
He votes against the bill, but does put earmarks for his district in the bill so that his constituents will get their piece of the pie. Their taxes are being taken from the government, they should be able to get some of it back. Ron Paul wants to change the system.

Ignorance. Earmarks don't add to spending.
StephenPDean 2 years ago 4
If earmarks don't add to spending why voice against government spending. Or just speak from both sides of his mouth ?
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
Because most of these bills should not be passed at all. But if others are going to pass it since Paul has but one vote then why not get some of that money back for the people you work for? Even you can't be that stupid.
mickeysears 2 years ago 3
First the congress passes the budget. That determines how much spending their will be. Then congress passes an appropriations bill, that's where all the earmarks come from.
If the Congress doesn't allocate where the money goes with an earmark, then the executive branch gets to decide where to spend it. No money is saved by letting the executive branch decide how to spend it.
Ron Paul, who doesn't believe their money should have been taken at all, allows his constituents to ask for it back.
StephenPDean 2 years ago 2
He is against taking the money via income tax. And he is against spending the money unconstitutionally.
But if the government is going to take the money, then he feels it's his DUTY as their REPRESENTATIVE to let his constituents ask for their money back.
Meanwhile, he votes against taking their money in the first place. And he votes against spending their money unconstitutionally.
StephenPDean 2 years ago 4

Well dreaming of becoming the president of the US by winning less than 5% of Republican Party voters (the party that has shrunk greatly) is no less than proving oneself a mentally challenged. Following such a clown leader is another proof of such a mental disability.
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
The real mental disability is shown by someone (you) who spends hours of his day spamming youtube videos where a political character with only 5% support (as you say) is expressing his points of view.
Since Ron Paul has such minimal impact with only 5% of the votes then only the REAL mentaly retarded could spend time trying to discredit and trash someone with (once again) minimal impact in the political arena.

I guess the Constitution gives you the supreme authority to delegate who is a true American and who is not.

earmarks are just "marking" the money that is already GOING to be spent by the government.

Not doing so would not cut waste, it would only let someone else waste his taxpayers' dollars. And his constituents would be left without any representation.

StephenPDean 2 years ago 4
My guess is, next you're going to say, "If he doesn't want the earmarks then why put them in the bill?"
So I'll just answer now so I don't have to come back. "he was acting as a representative by allowing his constituents to take part in the system."
The system exists, he has to represent his constituents within that system. He also has a 30 year voting record of trying to dismantle that system.
It's consistent. Maybe your bias against Paul is what keeps you from understanding his argument.
StephenPDean 2 years ago 5
If you never suggested he wanted those earmarks then why do you think he loaded the bill with earmarks ?
Why load a bill with earmarks and let it fail by voting against it ?
VoodooPolitics101 2 years ago
You keep asking the same stupid questions but in slightly different ways?
Why load a bill with earmarks and let it fail by voting against it ?
Because voting against a spending bill is the right thing to do but if it's going to pass then you might as well work for your constituents. It really seems simple and logical. But logic doesnt appear to be your strong suit.

Earmarks provide a way to delegate money for specific tasks. Without this the money is put into the hands of the federal government.
