@Hellfire7896321 Weird. It doesn't sound like that to me, at all. Of course, it doesn't sound perfect to me, either. When I recorded this video I had just started learning the song, so I didn't have any part of it polished. It became easier in the following days.
@abesluciferius Im not trying to be a dick, just saying, if it became easier in the following days and you have it polished now, why dont you re-post the video with your new found skill?
@abesluciferius "Because it was never about showingoff my skills. Its an instructional and the purpose is fulfilled by that video."You didnt really instruct anything.Even the sweeps in the 'coming days' sound the same. You can play some stuff fast and clean from what I can tell but you need to work on your sweeping.I agree with Hellfire completely it's not fluid in the least, and in this video and others you can tell your hand isnt fluid. You pause slightly before you hit the strings
@Zem0nkey The video is in context of a lesson, as it is shown in proper speed and then slowed down as well as accompanying tabs in the link. If you can't learn from that then it is not my fault. Many, many people, though, have, and have informed me of it with gratitude. I don't think you have much of an idea of what a clean technique is, but at the very least I can say that if you don't like my technique, you don't have to look at my videos! I disagree with you, yet am on a path to learn more.
@abesluciferius i get the feeling that when you sweep downwards its not really sweeping (not one motion)but...repicking..but iam not completely sure..i like the tone and the guitar and your playing though....and to all those who cant figure out the notes by ear they are simply not ready to play jason becker sweeps. Its the mechanics of the motion (the basics)they have to learn not the shapes.
nah i don't need adjustments at all i just didn't think it sounded right thats all i have a degree in guitar playing and got my grade 8 after playing 4 years so
@123nickclark Dude are you sure that yo have a degreee in music because this sounds right to me nice job dude thanks for the lesson me working on the beginning intro now :D
@123nickclark Can you stop asking for qualifications? Slowing the song down with proper software allows ANYONE no matter how long they have been playing or what kind of education they have received, to hear every. single. note. perfectly no matter how tough it seems when played at 100% speed. As long as you have some ability to hear the notes as they are and then find them on the neck, there is no reason why you cannot transcribe this.
@abesluciferius No problem even though i am having alittle problem on the beginning part with the pull off from 17th fret to the 12th fret G string lol =\
first apegios are wrong but its a great lesson, right area but the first one is a 12, 15 hammer e string , then bar your finger on 12fret then 12 fret b,g string the 14 on the d, 2nd is a minor apegio 12,15 hammer, 13 b 12 g strings 15 d string, then third is orgmented arpegio 11-15 hammer 13 b string then 14 g 13 d string, then last arpegio is 12-15 hammer missing the 3rd ot going to the f triad 14 fret g string 15 on the d
@123nickclark No, actually. I'm confused as to why you'd consider that the right way when the sound of it is totally off. The notes in this video have been taken directly from the notes in the song, having slowed the song down without changing pitch to about 25% for accuracy. Basically, the notes are 100% correct, the fingering may or may not be correct since there is no video, but based on the sound of the legatos, it is almost certain that it is correct.
@123nickclark well my teacher works for most guitar based promotions and has toured alot and very experianced doesn't matter does he is my teacher i wanted to learn this song so he helped me out no crime but there is so many wrong versions of this and my ears say this isn't write and how is it commisioned by jason becker he is working on a book not yet released ?
@123nickclark sorry to tread on your toes but i am a perfectionist and want to do this song so badily and i keep getting fristrated, you dono where i can get a really good backing track for it do you
@123nickclark You have to pull back a little bit on your efforts towards others and focus a little more on the efforst towards yourself. Because, if you really are a perfectionist, you'll learn that first you must perfect yourself. And you can never do this addressing yourself to strangers in a pedantic, matter-of-fact manner about a subject that you yourself aren't even sure about.
@123nickclark I posted this on Jason's forum, asking him to revise it. He did, he replied the whole tab is about 98% right, and let me know of one edit he would make which is the tapping section in which the stretch goes from 3 to 9 instead of 4 to 9.
@123nickclark His tab book is being worked on by someone else, although it will not be 100% correct unless Jason manages to remember exactly how he did it, as he told me himself he does not really remember 100% of what he did since it has been over 20 years. This tab has nothing to do with that book, but it has nevertheless been revised by the man himself and given his "seal of approval".
hey buddy, good job! It's nice that you took the time to make sort of an "instructional" vid on how to play this song....I'm starting to learn this song and though there were quite a few good sounding GP5 versions, the fingering positions could have been more relevant, but I checked out that tab from Ernesto and it looks really good finger position-wise....good job!
@arrestedshrimp Listen to the track in a slower playback speed with Amazing Slow Downer if you have Windows or Transcribe if you have OS X. Those programs change the playback speed without affecting pitch. That will allow you to hear every single note clearly.
Y de cuales otros temas tenés pensado hacer estos excelentes vídeos? Tenés el tab de "River of longing"? Esque me encanta esa canción y no la encuentro por ningún lado.
Please someone re-upload the tab !

@abesluciferius It is weird. Perhaps I'm just not used to hearing sweeps on single coils.

@Hellfire7896321 Then spend some time listening to Malmsteen. If that doesn't do the trick, nothing will. Lol.
